Sad to hear that John 😔 It is a hard swim unless the river is really low. I tried my other favourite barbel swim a few weeks back and an extra few inches of water made it impossible to trot a float through. We’ll get there buddy 😄

ChrisC Fishing just got back from my first time lure fishing for trout. Much harder than I thought. Only caught one and missed 3, each being bigger than the last 🤦🏻‍♂️😂 savage takes for a small fish 💪

I make my own that are about 9 foot long but any shop bought 9 foot leader should do the trick. Then I use 3lb hardy hydrocarbon tippet. Hope that helps 👍🏼

I normally use a 6ft #3 for dry fly and 8ft 6in #3 for nymph. This stretch of the river isn’t really deep enough for 2 nymphs to be honest.

If you message there a guy called Tarun who is heading it up. If you give him your email address he’ll add you to the listing so you get updates of meets and so on. The next meeting is at the bonded warehouse Stourbridge on the 26th of August I think.

ChrisC Fishing I’ll be trying the trotting method on my next trip to Bridgenorth. I was told to use a big waggler and not the style your using here. It makes sense to me so your in contact at the top of the float and not the bottom with excess line cutting in the water

Black Country Piker either work, I just prefer the loafer floats. I’ve also seen people doing the same thing with no float and just a couple of SSG shot a few inches above the hook
