Other short railway games on interesting subjects can be found by Hollandspiele (The company Tom Russell founded) They are very interesting. The Soo Line, is the most similar to the Capstone games, but with only THREE companies to invest in some players will not be running companies but just investing in them. My personal favorite is the Dual Gauge series. The base game contains two maps (Portugal and Michigan) but there are three expansions out, each with two maps. The expansions have no extra rules pe sé, but the slight tweaks are all printed on the map so no problems there. This another game by Tom Russell- Here you don't "buy hexagons" but links across hex boundaries. Six pages of rules a really easy teach. (These games are stocked in Europe at Second Chance Games in the UK, but you can download official PnP files from Wargames Vault. )

Thank you! I don't drink. However, I planted a grape arbor ~20 years ago so I think that is why I gravitated towards this game. I only have a handful of games where I have expansions and Viticulture is one of them. I have 'Viticulture Essentials' and 'Viticulture Tuscany Essentials' + 'Visit from the Rhine Valley'. I'll look into the others if we play these and want more.
Thankfully the mechanisms are such that I think this is great for anyone!

Lol us Americans tend to damage everything. It's the nature of the beast. As for math wouldn't it be a context and word use question? I am taking a math class verse I am doing some maths now. Lol, English is a pretty messed up language no matter where it's spoken no wonder non native speakers find it to be one of the hardest languages to learn. 😅

If you want to play at two players, you can also do a print and play of the Clockwork Expansion, which is free and just requires some arts and crafts. That would be the best to extend the game at 2 players, but The Marauder Expansion is probably the best expansion not involving automated opponents to expand the game for 2 players.

@@BoardOfItReviews Played the just first chapter so far, we both enjoyed it. I can see it staying in our collection for a long time.
I think for me and my game groups (now in our thirties !) the games that stand the test of time are the ones that give more than they take. “Old school”, elegant titles like El Grande, Chinatown, Acquire etc. that have a simple rule set but allow for a deep and interactive decision space. A lot of the modern Euros you mention (and that are popular on BGG) have left my collection. Too many layers, too long etc.
Nothing wrong with that. We recently played Through The Desert for the first time and that was a great experience! But, we also love mean, long, tough euros. There's something thrilling about the struggle.
I have a $20 for anyone who can find me a review of this apparently awesome game that doesn't include white people mewling about how terrible colonialism was.

If I were to get into Root, mainly as a 2p, how would you recommend I approach the gameplay…with an automa faction? Would you recommend the clockwork expansion if we’re mostly 2p gamers? Thank you!
Yea defo would recommend the clockwork, although it is quite expensive for what you get. There are print and play options available though! Otherwise the Mauraders expansion is good for two players.

Where does Stationfall rank guys?
It's a tough one, haven't played it enough since reviewing to have it high. Really like it, but hard proposition to introduce to people or find the right group for.
I would recommend that you try A song of Ice and Fire the miniatures game, you seem to like skirmish games and this is the most accessible miniatures war game far far easier to play than a Warhammer 40k the rules are simpler and the main focus is on movement positioning and combination of units you are not constantly looking at the rulebook but you just enjoy the play.

Also, I want to buy Voidfall, but the weight scares me. Is is as heavy as the rating of 4.6? I own Anachrony, Kanban, Feast for Odin, and Ark Nova. Is it heavier than those games? Thanks again.
The thing about Voidfall is there a lot of up front work (rulebook, setup, iconography), but once you know how to play to goes very smooth. It ends up being fairly intuitive and has terrific indexes for references.
Discovered the channel recently and really liked all your videos! Awesome top 10 as well, gonna give another chance to Res Arcana seeing it so high on the list! Also, have you guys tried Dwellings of Eldervale? I'm pretty sure you will love it!
That might be a bit more personal love so don't expect too much! But if you love efficency games, it's the one. Have not tried it, very interested to. Mainly didn't because of limited stock.
What I learned was the group makes the game fun.

Have heard mixed reviews on Root. It looks so pretty and the asemetrical factions sound fun.
I think it's only for certain types of people. Completely get why some wouldn't like it, but there is also a reason it's in the top 50 of all time on BGG!
