It's all fixable. A lot more sweat and hopefully not too much more blood! I have seen a lot worse back in the water and still going strong. Just keep your eye on the prize. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!

An opportunity for an affordable catamaran. Can you get the resources to repair the damaged boat? Epoxy, hardener, gel coat, primer, fibreglass, sand paper, grinding tools? What about groceries and food? Power, water, ice etc?

Use good thick glass and lots of it.. she will be stronger than ever. Great video!

🌴So first of all it’s a great looking boat ! Now I’m a retired yacht builder and FRP specialist, so the upper rigging is going be depending on your budget ether replaced or bent back into shape and then maybe replaced at a later date as you will want to get on the water , which comes to the holes in the hull and your smashed or indented keel , it comes down to being able to be able to access the damaged areas the keel is your major worry as it’s really structural and you can’t see the full damage with all the interior inside in the video we could only see the interior damage, now if it was me next step would be to open an area in the interior so yo could inspect the damage inside ? , is the fiberglass completely broke and punched through the keel meets the hull , what’s the hull thickness as it will need to be built stronger , can you get a layup schedule from the manufacturer to replace the broken fiberglass with like materials, like resin, and was it hand laid fiberglass or bagged, is it epoxy or GP resin there’s a lot of questions that need to be answered before you just jump right in and make a mistake, the holes in the hull is there accessibility to repair it properly, the interior damage on the doorway post I’m thinking that was maybe from the tank coming down in that area and it took the full impact by the way the fractures looked that’s needs to be rebuilt , but you need to inspect at the bottom did it crack the floor when took the impact ? What’s the availability of materials to do the fiberglass that needs to be done , will you have to order it and have it shipped , the resin and hardner , acetone , gelcoat , or paint ,thinners are all hazardous materials, is there a problem getting them shipped , so my advice is tackle one fix at a time hole by hole , the keel is your biggest headache, it’s a big project but once repaired and you get things back to normal this is going to be a really great boat , good luck , I’ll try and keep tabs on your progress !

Hi guys, it’s none of our business how much you paid for your catamaran keep it to yourself , like someone else and don’t want use it against you when you go to sell it but they forget the hard work. The first step after disaster is to disconnect any house that has major damage. Then they will also disconnect where things branch off the poles and get the poles energized. Back to branches from the poles, and anyplace with major damage must basically start over with a temp service that isn’t connected to the building itself.

I had to wait three years for you to get a better Boat, I told you 3 years ago to get a boat. That's better than the one you have, but also with the old boat. You got all that experience? You know how to fix boats a lot of other stuff, so that's one good thing that happened. Even though you had to scrape on that old thing for hell long.

Just tell us at the beginning of your CZcams video how much you paid for the boat and how much it cost to remove that container. I would have just left the container on until I welder some points so it can be removed faster and then you can sell the container for a profit. Evils sang a song only fools rush in. Use your common sense and then if it is cheap to just hire a blow torch and cut it and then it’s only your time wasted. 2.20 Minutes is all I have watched but if you end up being a Idiot I will never subscribe or watch your videos again. So devastating. This is why I go to Trinidad for hurricane season. Spent a lot of time in Carriacou. Wow, devastated. Looking at the damage of your cat it thought “on no”. That was before I went back and watched a lot of your videos. YOU can do it. You have the skills and ambition. Looking forward to seeing you new boat blossom.

I live in the Australian tropics and have "endured" five cyclones (which is what we call our hurricanes) over the years, the worst one being Cyclone Tracy in Darwin and the last one in Townsville five or six months back. Tracy destroyed literally all of Darwin, and was a 12-hour nightmare I will NEVER forget. The power was off for three or four months, from memory. Today Darwin is fairly sizeable city of 150,000 people. In the meantime, your catamaran is a beauty. Some of the damage looks fairly serious, but, with your history in mind, I expect you and Daniela are going to do what you always do. Get stuck in and get it done...

That boat is a maxim 380 built in Durban South Africa. I owned one and have a friend that put his on the reef and has been repairing the same damage you have. One thing with those owners hulls is that door in the back of the head that goes to the engine. Make sure you find a way to water proof it as with his he hit the sail drive which broke free and the hull flooded through that door. The nice thing is there are no internal linings so the hull can easily be repaired. They are strong boats for sure. That one of yours also has had sugar scoop extensions.

You are a lucky man. After all of the love you will put into her refit, the two of you will really appreciate the boat when it is back in the water. I say you are a lucky man because of the opportunity to buy the boat and because you found your first mate, Danielia.Good luck. Have fun rebuilding.

The damage not to bad the keal will cost a little bit to repair the fiberglass should be a easy repair on the side get a new generator replace beds etc. check all the elec. So that saying you should be able to fix for under 30k or around that

I have been watching lots of your videos. You are an amazing person. All of the adventures you have tackled. Your learning curve for sailing has been amazing. You are so capable at whet ever you do. I am a life long sailor/cruiser. Sailing instructor etc. and commercial captain. You rock. That was a very tough route that you took. I had an Alberg 35, so know your handicaps and plusses . Definitely the school of hard knocks. I have sailed to Colombia. Loved Cartagena. Panama is excellent cruising. From where you are, a fantastic down hill sail in your new cat! OK now let’s talk the important item. Daniela………….what a great lady! So beautiful in so many ways. You are lucky and so is she! She seems to be really takeing to the cruising life. Keep sailing.

Volume wise you went from a Alberg 30 to a Maxium 380 (Voyager 380) which is mono terms would be jumping into a 48' monohull. For catamaran repair check out Young Barnacles (While carbon fiber, there are some rigging details and standard fiberglass repair, and Sail Life has done a Catamaran keel repair, also has suggestions for tools, and is also repairing a catamaran. I don't know if you still have access to Lemonada, but that boat would have been useful to weekend sail and also sail to pick up supplies that might not be available given the island's infrastructure being damaged. The other thing is to source Vinylester Resin it's cheaper for repairing larger sections of the hull given the repairs. Fix the hull before the bulkheads as that large hole will deform more if you try to fix the bulkhead by it first. Good luck.

There’s nothing there that can’t be repaired reasonably easily, I know you have done some fibre glass work in the past (sort of) but this is a much bigger thin, get advice from people who have done this sort of work before like Sail Life they have done restorations in the past and they are just in the process of buying a storm damaged boat as well but he knows about structural fibre glassing 😊

That's a hell of a lot of structural damage. You will be able to patch that up fiberglassing and make it good sealed watertight, but the structure is weakened and so is the strenght of the hull to be able to take nature's forces in bad weather conditions.The boat was cheap for a reason!
