Victorinox Deluxe Tinker vs Fieldmaster
where do you get the corkscrew screwdriver and pen?
a couple of tips for those who have this bivvy and don't have another that's waterproof, this bag needs some sort of cover, the top isn't waterproof. if enough rain comes down on it, you're getting wet, it's that simple. the only thing you can do if you don't have anything to cover it is turn the bag upside down, putting the waterproof ground layer on top. that's the only way you can stay dry without a cover. I learned this from a veteran.
Hi! It's still in one pice? Your opinion changed since this video? Thanks
Hi and thanks for the video. SAK camper fan here. Is the Handyman comfortable to EDC on jeans' front pockets. Because I really wanted the scissors I tried to EDCed the huntsman (with a suspension clip), but as per its form factor it tends to rotate on the pocket creating pressure points. Is the handyman more comfortable in pocket? Cheers
Cheers for that. I am about to click buy on this knife, sadly I can't find any reviews for whether or not it is a good knife to use but I'm gonna give it a go, maybe @weaponcollector will make me a decent leather sheath for it 😉
Ratnik 6E6 outperforms them all.
Only difference between the Huntsman and Fieldmaster: Huntsman has the multi-purpose cork screw on the back. Fieldmaster a single purpose #2/#3 phillips screwdriver. Personally, the multi-purpose cork screw is much handier. I've used the cork screw on mine many times over the last 23 years (and counting). Not once to remove a cork from a bottle of an adult beverage. The single purpose screwdriver is a deal murderer for me. I'm on my second Huntsman. The first went AWOL during a move 3 years ago, after 21 years of use. 🥺☹️ (first one was a Christmas gift (with a matching 58mm 'Signature' version of the SD Classic) from my then, and now late boss.)
Looks good
I ve got the same bivi but not used it paid 70 quid gutted
I know the craftsman but damn victorinox missed the mark on not giving the handyman a Phillips driver instead of corkscrew. Would of made a million dollar pocket knife
It doesn’t have a Philips.
@fathersonsurvival thank you I fixed it because I kent to say by not giving it one
@@devatwell334 Yea its like the huntsman and fieldmaster one has corkscrew one has a philips. They should have made a version of a handyman with a philips indeed cause thats what i need in my edc.
I bought an anglo arms kalahari very similar
Thank you for the comparison - hope you start posting again, it has been 3 years since you last post.
Which one is more useful out in the woods? The camper corkscrew. Or the hiker Philip screwdriver?
It’s a goddamn Trekker or Sentinal not a ‘soldiers’ knife! Smfh
Wish you gave the proper model names. Would have actually been helpful. Smfh. Waste of goddamn time
Since this knife is discontinued check out the Sitivien ST-128 (available on Amazon $24.99, often on sale for $17 after tax) it is a heavily upgraded clone of this knife. It’s an upgrade of the clone “y-start JIN-01” which was the original boker magnum b&b clone. The Sitivien st-128 has upgraded ergonomics, bearings, a more robust blade, and a much better blade steel with a good heat treat (real d2, takes a beautiful patina) If you’re someone who likes this knife design the Sitivien is even nicer trust me. It’s a HARD USE folder by every definition. A true work knife. One of my favorite of all time. I collect every version of it that comes out. A company called warspear has a front flipping version of this knife in 14c28n called WP-501T that is also a favorite of mine. This design is powerful. Ergonomic. And looks good too
Good trowel 👍🏾
Got to 1:20 and started to get seasick. Put the camera on a tripod.
Have a handyman comes in handy man also have a champ it's a champion of the SAK both a great knifes.
Thanks for the awesome videos.
I miss you brother ☹️☹️☹️
Good review, think I’ll be going for the Huntsman as I can store tinder in the corkscrew as I’ll be getting a ferrorod for the toothpick slot
Bring back the handyman with Philips victorinox please
This could be the benchmark in all knife reviews, well done.
Depends on the weave, and what material i guess, silnylon ,polyester, you know what they say for 100 g saved the price goes up for £100 quid
can i use the "normal" bolt of 16 inch in these crossbow?
Think I'll be going with the Huntsman myself:)
I ordered the standard size today, I have others but I know I’ll buy the monster too 🏴🍻🥰
hello, will it chip if you cut a wire or a nail? will you earn such a test?
Still missing you brother! 👌🏽👍🏽👍🏽🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
If you've got a valid reason to carry a fixed blade, such as construction, camping etc then it's allowed. These are still easy enough to kill with, so would very much be classed as offensive weapons if the context wasn't in your favour.
Miss you brother
Iv watched this channel loads over 2 days Is he still about !?
Not heard from him for a couple of years now brother ☹️☹️☹️
When knife test?
I love those blue scales on the victorinox huntsman but i like the victorinox fieldmasder over the huntsman both the same knifes but the victorinox fieldmasder has the driver on the back where the victorinox huntsman has the corkscrew i know you can put the mini driver's in the corkscrew but for me the driver is better saying that if it's the victorinox Swiss champ i like the corkscrew because the Swiss champ has the inline driver 👌 it's just a great allrandr EDC Swiss army knife some one else has told me that the victorinox Swiss champ is too big for daily EDC and that prison has a full size Leatherman multi tool in his pocket along side a tinker Swiss army knife so how can someone else say too me that the victorinox Swiss champ is too big for EDC it's a fantastic Swiss army knife also I've just picked up a victorinox farmer x with the alox scales love it but sometimes I miss my scale tools any way bill i know your the Swiss army knife God and I've also noticed that most of them have the original red handle scales I'm just on the internet now buying that Swiss champ ciybr tool with the big size inline driver with all the little bits this is the reason I'm asking you what one is better the 41 or the bigger size with the clear plastic scales any way bill if you're off CZcams I'm sorry for sending this comments bill all the best buddy 👍🏻
I never saw such value before.
I have the Dutch Army hooped bivy. Inside there is a statement which goes as follows: " DO NOT USE IN OPEN FIELD " When in open field use tarp to prevent condensation. As far as the Mil Tec bivy is concerned, you'll need a tarp in open field as well. The Mill Tec adds an extra season to your sleeping bag, so no wonder you'll get condensation if you use a 3 season sleeping bag. This is a pro, you can cut down on weight and size on your sleeping system. I have heard some great things about Mil Tec bivy, so this video has not convinced me the failure of it.
Impressive camera work.
1 year on, hows the knife held up?
This has been my go to knife for bushcraft when I just want something to get the job done.. It's SK5 carbon steel which on paper shouldn't be anything remarkable so I can only think that they have their heat treat set very well.. I took the secondary bevel off mine and re-profiled it to a zero grind with a slight convex and have hammered the living daylights out of it and to my amazement it's not chipped or rolled. Same carbon steel as the Hultafors which are also insanely good for the money and uber tough. I have many more expensive knives and this is the most comfortable to use knife I own especially when it's cold, zero shock transfers up the handle.
Yo la Ranger las pinzas nosontan buenas son extremadamente débiles no sirven saludos desde Monclova Coahuila México
Definitely agree that it's worth the extra few quid (about £7.50 from swisstool.co.uk, the cheapest I can find factoring in the free delivery) for the pliers, and if you're already carrying a 5 layer the extra 2 or 3mm won't make much difference. I don't own an SAK with pliers (yet) but from what I can see they are on a par with the Leatherman Squirt and at the same price and more tools (no wood saw on the Squirt, only a small blade) of an arguably better quality except for possibly the pliers - the Vic scissors are far better - the Handyman is probably a better buy if you don't neccessarily need such a small format. However at the moment my EDC is a Hiker plus a Squirt which actually has the same toolset as the Handyman with an extra couple of small tools as redundancies and it works great as it is less bulky, I can carry the Squirt in my coin pocket, and the Hiker in my back pocket off a belt loop on a carabiner. Only drawback is the scissors aren't as sharp and precise as even the ones on the Classic SD and other 58mm SAKs.
Simon h can you believe it I'm still looking at Swiss army knifes there like cocaine i can't get enough of them and by the looks of things your the same because I'm seeing you every where on CZcams as well 😀
@@name5949 True mate I noticed your comments popping up everwhere too on yt vids about SAKs and multitools. Addictive stuff.
get a tripod please
Just came across your channel your so right what you say you have some experience good & bad you talk sense ATVB 👍👍
HONEST! A bivy is for rain not to keep you warm. I got a miltec pup tent and it collected so much condensation inside it was soaking
