I'd definitely add a strip of fire lighters, a lighter & a few maya wood sticks with instructions to collect dead wood. Just so she/he can get thru that first difficult night with the comfort & assurance of a fire. Also would be a good light source to read the books
Good bit of kit mate! Personally I would go for a scout manual as it has more "general" advice for the beginner. Best first aid manual I have come across is Paul Auerbach's Medicine for the outdoors, a superb book. Neither are very "carry friendly", but it might be a bit late when you are all ready in over your head to start reading. First aid kits very good, always remember blister plasters. Only book I actually carry out and about into the woods is the actual Bible, personal preference I guess hehe! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your input , this is meant for a complete novice, I do say before going anywhere to gain some knowledge, and for me John Wiseman is the God when it comes to survival . I carry the book's for two reasons, one for something to read ,SAS handbook has been a firm favourite of mine for years , the first aid manual because it might be me who's the casualty and as a reminder aid . This little project is for my wife ultimately, but I see so many CZcams channels talking absolute nonsense on kit , with very little idea on how to use kit or get the most out of it. Your right about scouts handbook (( I haven't got one lol )), I'm not religious in the slightest, Faith won't save your loved ones ✌✌. Kits are a personal thing, putting up videos opens one up to criticism, good or bad ,I don't care at all what's said, if the point I'm making is a important or vital one I say so , if it's a project or bit of fun ,as this is , I try to make that clear 👍👍. There's one thing laying on my experiences, and another seeing from someone who knows nothing, hence keeping this kit to easily purchased items, for example, I wouldn't take only the polymath products kit as in my opinion it lacks certain kit "" I "" like to have. ✌✌
@@x-rayzulu5643 Faith might help you not loose hope in a dire situation :) The SAS books do have a lot of nice information tho, and the there sure is something to be said for the compactness of the pocket edition too! But be sure to have a look at Auerbarch's Medicine for the outdoors, can be found on bookdepo or probably also used. Also covers more "advanced" topics like medicine/drugs in layman's terms. Jupp, lots of channels just selling gear they never even tried.
Great idea to make a novices kit..... thinking about it, it’s not easy to do! Especially when your assuming that the intended person has no prior knowledge or experience! Tricky one! Nice project brother and interesting 👍🏽👍🏽😎 best wishes mate
Hi Andy mate, yes it's a tricky one , hence the books , then keeping it to readily available "" off the shelf "" Kit adds to the tricky-Ness , the polymath products premier kit has a very good " instructions "" sheet in it , so my thoughts are read the books ,use the polymath kit as a training aid ,,, then there's cost to think of , thank you for your comments brother 👍👍👍
