Thanks for doing the test. It's what I expected. Now I wonder: what's the largest generator one could practically fit into the back? Originally, .I thought 30kw would be the minimum, and give you a full charge in 5 hours. But those generators are massive. I say it's a bust.

Great stuff to know, but I think you’re looking in the wrong direction if you have that trailer with, you could put 400 W solar panels with direct AC and you have probably have more power and be able to recharge all day long while vehicle is sitting, May not be a huge amount of amps to do it with, but they’ll continuously charge

I am glad you got it to charge. That Generator isn't an inverter generator so the power isn't very clean and a lot of Tesla won't charge directly from regular generators. It seems this Westinghouse put out some good frequencies without being an inverter generator or they are letting the Cybertruck take power that most of the other wouldn't.

I bought a special aftermarket charger that does a ground bypass and it's 40a. It automatically combines the neutral and ground, but it's nice that the generator let's you do that.

I don't know why Tesla doesn't provide a 40a charger. I got an aftermarket one and sold my Tesla ones.

Great video and research for charging EVs with a generator. If my friend will be powering his travel trailer with his generator, will I be able to charge my EV at a level 1? Or is it possible to also charge at level 2 while his travel trailer air conditioning is being powered at the same time? Thanks!

You said that there’s only two things that the CyberTruck can’t do that your diesel can do, range and a 5th wheel. I argue that it can do range as long as you don’t mind hitching and unhitching. Obviously not a similar distance per charge and admittedly not nearly as convenient. However, can it “REALLY” not tow a fifth wheel? Everyone always says that it can’t but, how true is it? No one has actually tried. Obviously, I’m not interested in you damaging your truck but, consider testing this assumed truth. Even if you just drove the CyberTruck under a suspended and stationary 5th wheel to get measurements. Add to that the trucks turning radius and we’d get an idea of whether or not it’s possible. You’d be answering a question no one else has even attempted to answer yet. The main argument for why the CyberTruck can’t tow a fifth wheel (as I understand it) is the sail pillars along the bed but, when you consider four wheel steering how close would it even get? When turning tightly enough to hit the sail pillars (traditionally) you’re also driving slow enough to maximum the CyberTruck’s turn radius. There are 5th wheels that the CyberTruck could handle weight wise. The KZ DURANGO HALF-TOND274BHD comes to mind. Doing this test would surely be your highest viewed video. No one thinks it’s possible. Just title it “Can the CyberTruck tow a fifth wheel?” You’d get views from both lovers and haters of the CyberTruck waiting for their conformation biased to be satisfied. You could rent it and satisfy the curiosity of everyone. Here’s hoping you do it! You’ve got a subscriber regardless great work thus far!

nobody did that yet! thank you one more time sir, it was really interesting video compared to others who wrapping this trucks like a princess toy.. those videos are painful & useless! but your videos are like fresh air in the closed room! this problem with charging will be eliminated as energy density will increase in batteries, current density of that batteries that are in your cyber truck is only 285wh/kg but there are battery with 1kwh/kg in development already more than 3 years, they have final chemical combinations that they're testing & when that hits to the market, that will be big relief! I calculated & current battery cells weight in that truck is 402kg. so if we replace that battery with 1kwh/kg battery cells, that same battery pack with same weight will have energy capacity of 402kwh! today you have there only 123kwh! out of this 402 kwh there will be, let's say 32 kwh buffer for saving longevity of the battery, which will leaves you with whooping 370 kwh battery pack! which would give you exactly 3x more range than today! so instead of stopping 3 times in a road trip for charging, you would stop just once... of course that technology is far away yet, I don't know when tesla will introduce such high capacity of batteries, but at least for next 3 years we will not see it...

It’s almost 1 mile per 1% so technically you can do almost 100 miles in a 100% charge… may be with software and the extra battery the over all distance will improve…

It still uses electricity, which is one of the dirtiest things we make, so it burns coal. Of course, it will perform well now battery degradation hasn't begun. My truck never wants to jackknife with my RV. Did you get paid to say that?

I won't full on bash the truck since you are clearly enjoying your new purchase. I don't agree with being overly understanding regarding the software development, that is the manufacturers problem, not yours. Like most new car owners you are singing the praises, like I did last year when I bought my new car. The best sour grapes comment was from my brother who claimed I would never be able to find a parking space for it. As for the rather strange scenario of carrying a generator in the back, it might be useful to get you out of trouble if you run out of range. Enjoy your truck...
