In this episode I start stripping and repainting brackets, plates and hinges and fabricate a reinforcement brace for the door aperture while the shell is on the rotisserie. I also fabricate a frame to mount and transport the big E-Type bonnet.

In this short film I preview the Jaguar XJ12 Series 3 I saved from an uncertain future. With the life saving welding done, I have fitted a Stainless Steel exhaust with centre box delete from Surrey-based Simply Performance that unleashes the V12 noise. In this episode I restore two fibre glass engine ancillary components and the steel gearbox cover. Each takes time and care but it is more satisfying and overall better to keep the original parts rather than replace with modern reproductions.

I'm going to a big classic car auction tomorrow and Jaguar Classic is selling a lot of big Jag saloon project cars with everything from mkIV, mkV, mkVII, mkVIII, mkIX and mk10 so I couldn't not take a look! There are also some cute Jaguar pedal cars! Question is will I be tempted?
