How to Make a Simple Picture Frame | Episode 1
Don't forget to check out woodworkingmasterclasses.com for a whole bunch of projects just like this one! Oh and Episode 2 is already out on our site too!
This is a uniquely different way to make a picture frame, but Paul designed it specifically to work with hand tools.
Sizing the eight components with the level of precision needed can be tricky, but two guides make the whole process quick and simple. We have dispensed with the mitres normally associated with picture frames altogether, giving these frames an assembly process and look you've never seen before.
It's a step-by-step process with accuracy and we walk you through every step.

Time for Recovery | Paul Seller's Vlog 20

At different stages in our lives, we can be impacted by an act of aggressive violence that goes deep into the very soul of our being. It doesn't always need to be toward us - it can be to others too. This vlog started just after I was attacked by a middle-aged runner. This was because of a brief altercation where he forced two small children and their mother off the official cycle path when he ...
How to Make a Ladle | Episode 1

It may not be a large project, but creating a ladle from fully kiln-dried hardwoods like sycamore and maple differs from green, uncured wood. Tougher to carve yes, but there is no shrinkage and no risk of cracking through drying. It is a wonderful project for learning to work with multi-directional grain and to also use gouges and such. This is a great beginner guide for those starting with gou...
A Nature Work Life | Paul Sellers' Vlog 019
zhlédnutí 33KPřed 2 měsíci
I like to think of my woodworking as an extension of my interest in nature that began as a young boy in what we called the swamp beyond the estate where I lived in Stockport. My daily excursions took me in search of newts and frogspawn as well as water snails, sticklebacks, and various bright-winged flyers nestling on Rosebay Willowherb. My early walks and bike rides take me past the lake that ...

Ive learnt a lot watching you
I appreciate your work and effort in explaining hand tools but i would have used a sander
Beautiful, as always.
So glad you are recovering this well!!
🥹you poor thing. You always got a great attitude 😊🫣
Santa Cruz, California here. Lots of great wood available from local mills after the wildfires 4 yrs ago.
Broken ribs are the worst. I broke a couple of the low ones and you can't laugh or breathe sometimes. Happy to see you back in the game, Paul! 😊
It is great to see you recovering. Seeing you work the wood is inspiring.
Why is the inlay in the slanted side instead of the straight side? I think it would 1. Be easier to inlay in the straight side, an 2. I would use the straight side facing me, not the slanted one. No?
A timely project for diploma frames with people graduating College and High School.
Paul, my thoughts and best wishes are with you after just seeing your blog video. Please allow yourself to shed the feelings about this terrible incident and move on with the love and respect you have from the masses. This man is obviously an idiot, and I believe that what goes around comes around. You are what is important, and I’m positive that a proper man such as yourself will but this behind you.. if you haven’t done so already.. chin up Paul. You have an army of well wishers behind you..
So good to see you back to the shop with high spirit!. Thanks for everything ❤
Great to see your on the road to recovery
Do you leave the top exposed all the time or do you have some sort of cover for when it's not in use? I think it would attract a lot of dirt and sawdust if left open.🙂🙂
Paul, any thoughts on why my #4 keeps leaving scratches when I plane? Plus, I'm not getting very good shavings.
WOW!
Just great to see you are on the mend Paul! Take it nice and steady and thankyou for doing this video while still recovering 👍👍
Glad to see you back at the work bench (and producing interesting content as ever)! I'm still aghast that this has been done to you. All the best for the healing process, body and soul!
Paul - it's so refreshing to see you behind the bench and doing what you love! I pray your recovery is without complication and you can put this unfortunate moment of your life behind you. Thank you very much for ALL that you've done (and continue to do) to educate us willing students of your woodworking philosophy. Cheers!
Your recovery from the accident is remarkably quick. And thank you for putting it in another lecture for us as soon as you could.
Sorry to hear about the incident, but so glad on your rehab and recovery. Great video, BTW.
I've been learning from you Mr. Sellers ever since I first saw that first dovetail box build and those first videos of you in the yard planing wood against a tree to build a bench. I've come a long way as a woodworker since those early days. Many of my skills and success have come from watching and learning from you. Your encouragement and positivity have meant more than you will ever know. I was saddened to learn of the attack. Not surprised really, bad things happen to good people everyday. There is rarely anything that makes that right. Your return to the shop, this video in itself, is the best thing that can come of all pain and injustice. The opportunity to move forward with you makes me happy. My best to you and your's sir!
Paul, you've always been a huge inspiration to me at least, I've always truly enjoyed your work and teachings. I'm glad and happy to see you back in the shop doing what makes you happy and for those of us whom are always learning from you. As always, another excellent video, cheers :)
Happy to see you again Mr. Paul. Best wishes from Brazil!
Very glad to see you back at it!
At your age, not being able to recover fully is a reality. So good this not applies to you! .. I watched this video and I don't see the bigger picture (,no pun) yet. Hopefully this will unfold in the next episode.
@Paul.Sellers do you think a jig in this let's say style would also work with miters ?
Thanks a lot for the amazing video
I feel for you brother I broke 5 one time . Thanks Paul
Would have enjoyed seeing the final product. 😊
Glad you're on the mend, Paul.
Nice work Paul, good to see you getting back into the swing of things. Always enjoy your videos and certainly appreciate you sharing your skills and teaching. Stay well buddy.
Sorry to hear that, get well Mr. Sellers!
What a pleasant surprise Paul, ecstatic to see you back in action! Another great video Sir, thank you!!!
Love ya, Paul. Keep at it.
Practice back breathing.
Theres a lot of angry people going about the streets. They have a lot of problems
Glad you’re bouncing back. I’ve learned allot from you. Thanks.
Do you ever find that your pieces bow after you rip a small piece off the edge of a board? Do you just deal with it, do you straighten and redimension? Maybe the joinery will pull it back in, I guess it’s different case by case.
Lovely stuff
Apparently your British bones heal quicker than my Oklahoma bones do.
It is so good to see you doing your thing Paul! Quick question; you probably covered it, but if so it went in one ear and out the other. I love all your jigs, but why do you choose those over a shooting board? That jig you use to square the ends of your stock looks HEAVY.
I made it, its not that heavy, and works really well. Try one.
great to see you looking a lot better and your enthusiasm is back I was a joiner all my working life but I am still learning from you, keep it up.
We love you Paul and wish you a full recovery
Glad you are recovering! I'm looking forward to the jig, at the first glance it reminds me of the way wood strips are prepared for kumiko - excited to see your take on it!
So glad to see you back Paul take your time. One of the best things I ever learned of Paul was the Knife wall.
I am very glad to see that you're feeling better. Best wishes from Germany and thank you so much for your work - it's always an inspiration.
Glad you are mending well and feeling better.
Like woodworkers all over the world, I am overjoyed to see you back in your shop.
Sending lots of love, happy to see you back in the saddle!
