    Great videos, Tom; informative and very helpful, thank you. My question is, is the switch over from gas burner, to wood/charcoal, time consuming/difficult enough to say that most of us would end up choosing one fuel source only to cook with?

      Not at all, literally two screws on then a knot the oven remove the gas burner, add the fuel fuel basket and you’re good to go. 20 seconds max

    The cost of the gas is almost exactly the same or a bit cheaper than electric, this is due to the gas version using more watts of power, 4kw vs 1.6kw for the electric version. So it should be on for less time to get the same heat, Quite suprising. It does make sense though as the electric is probably generated by gas in the 1st place but then its got all the costs associated with converting it to electric and getting it to your house.

    A nice added feature would be if this stove could be installed in a nearby building, and then if by just picking up my phone, I could call someone making minimum wage, and have them cook the pizza FOR me and then have someone else deliver it to me in a car.

    Hi Tom. This was an excellent and very helpful video, thank you. I was wondering if you could provide a source for the cart the oven is sitting on? Carts etc are often an afterthought, but important that they are both weatherproof, heatproof, mobile with a place to hang things and store the peel etc. Thanks, even if you cannot provide the source of your cart!

    I bought this gas unit and made the mistake of relying on the images of the burner only, I didn't read down to ,"what's in the box" which would have told me the regulator and hose are included. I spent a further $25 on regulator and hose needlessly. Never mind it's good to have a spare on hand I guess. Also the hose is a little crimped from storage but with some hot water I can get it into the proper shape. The gas pressure is a little inconsistent and the flame goes out sometimes, I'm guessing because of the crimped hose. I'm sure this will correct itself. Otherwise it's great.

    I know it depends, but in general if full gas is 9 oclock and min. is 6 o'clock where do you put the regulator when putting in the pizza?

    I think that the black carbon areas are permanent and it just improves the stone to cook better next time around. There's no reason to bring it back to its original grey or white appearance.

    Nice review although agree that it would have been good to see temps between cooks. Ive owned a Koda 12 for 5 yrs and it hasnt missed a beat and it was very portable as kept in my garage when not in use. I just won an Arc XL bundle in a online comp and it looks big especially with the full size stand so will have to stay outside. Excited to see how it compares to the Ooni.

      @@TomVoyageuk not sure about shipping but the mistake folks make is they pre heat it for like 20 min like other ovens. Doesn’t need more than 5-8 min since it has the bottom burner. Very key when using it the first time and reviewing.

    Looks great! You use active yeast, rather than instant yeast - have you ever had trouble getting the yeast going? I've been using instant dry yeast to avoid having to use honey to get the yeast going.

      If I can I’ll always use fresh yeast also known as compressed yeast. I only use instant or active if I can’t get hold of fresh, but have never had an issue with it not activating properly

      I’ve never tried but I think it might be difficult to get them hot enough as it’s not really designed for that purpose. Get yourself a solo stove mesa table top fire pit and use the pellets on that! Ideal!

    Hi Tom. Just watched your video and we are going to try your recipe. It is just my wife and myself so 6 dough balls is too much for us however just wondering if you have had any success freezing these for use later?

      Yes absolutely just freeze them as soon as you have balled them up. Then to defrost, leave in the fridge overnight but make sure they’re room temp before cooking

      Yes you can leave closed with the Karu 12G, because it has the chimney on for ventilation

      I think they are quite a low hydration, so they will be a little stiff, but make sure they are at room temp before stretching

    I have the pallet fyra 12. The taste is great but it's very inconsistent. Sometimes the pallets get stuck in the hopper. So I had a pizza ready to go, but the flame was actually out. It's also sensitive for wind. Cooked some pizza's last weekend and it was all over the place in terms of heat.

    I feel like I should reassure people and add to this really good review - there’s a way to superheat the stone. Preheat on Artisan. Restart the unit and give it 10 on ‘top heat’ with nothing in. This blasts the stone, worked for me a treat !! Well above 370 degrees !

    I just received mine this week but haven’t used it yet. I got the converter that allows use of wood pellets such as are used with pellet grills/smokers. Thats easier for me than firewood.

    Silly question, but did you have any trouble taking the connector off the gas bottle once it was on? Cant tell if theres an issue with mine or im just being dense...

      No it’s very easy to remove, just make sure you close the tap to off position, the press the button below the tap to release. This is in the UK with a 37mBar connector, some places like USA still use the screw type connection

    I believe in high temperature is needed not in lower temperature... And you need something to make the heat to reflect to the top, as i think the head cover is two high for the pizza
