Backed by decades of clinical expertise, we sort through all the information, possibilities, and confusion to reveal the small specific actions with the biggest impact: the keys to your pain puzzle. Our muscle release tools use unique, angled pressure to relieve tension in key and hard-to-reach muscles-ultimately addressing the root causes of unresolved pain. Our flagship tool, the Hip Hook, is the only muscle release tool for both the psoas and iliacus. These two rarely-addressed and hard-to-access muscles are at the core of lower back, hip, knee, and even foot pain; releasing them both results in less pain, increased strength, and greater mobility.

Great video and demonstrations. I was wondering where exactly to put pressure. I deal with a broken back and the resulting problems, so I’ve been living with crazy pain for years, but 4 months ago things changed and I couldn’t figure out why the pain shifted and I began limping badly. Then I found your book in a free community library and I read it and ordered the hook. It arrives any day and I really hope it works. You sound like an educated person and that makes me trust that the hip hook will help. Thanks!
tight hips my whole life.. My LB coach said I had the tightest hips and as you know not the best compliment to receive.. esp popping hips for coverage. I really hope this works for me. Been retired now since 2005 and im in bad shape with my hips..
Hi. Are we only dealing with lumbar scoliosis in this scenario? Seems logical. But is there a chance it could cause thoracic scoliosis or make it worse?
So if any of the examples check out what do you do about it. I've done post op PT 8 months nothing is helping.
The best way to release tension in the iliacus is by applying direct pressure to the muscle for at least 90 seconds. After this, you'll find that other stretches and exercises commonly given at PT become more helpful. Does your PT ever do manual work on your hip flexors?
Would this explain severely tight hip flexors? My right leg turns out and I can't lift it to step into pants etc. Tight and extremely uncomfortable.
Tension in the hip flexors and deep hip rotators like the obturator internus often go hand in hand. They are on opposing sides of the hip and get into a battle of tug of war, and they both exert and external rotation force on the femur.
Is this the orbit? Or something different?
It's something different. The TFL Ball is a lacrosse ball that we included as a free gift in some of our past holiday promotions. The Orbit could also be used to perform these releases, but the smaller sized ball is better for these smaller muscle areas.
Where can I cry a copy of that trigger point flip chart???
I always smile when I see a women dressed like a man. Do you. I just think it's adorable.
No!
ok I think this might be what I have, How do I fix it?
A tight iliacus will cause an anterior pelvic rotation, so releasing the iliaucs is an important first step. This can be done by seeing a manual therapist to work on this area for you, or if you have our iliacus hip flexor release tool (called the Mark Hip Hook) then you can work on this yourself from home. Following this muscle release technique with other stretches and exercises can further support restoring balance in the muscles so your pelvis stays in a better position.
Bought this and it don’t do anything. Can’t believe I spent 200

Question. At 1:30, you say a tight iliacus rotates the leg inward, and then later in the video you say the iliacus is an external rotator. Can you clarify?
Great question, we'd be happy to clarify. The first scenario when standing refers to the orientation of the hip joint relative to the pelvis. A tight iliacus pulls the pelvic bone forward into an anterior rotation, which changes the orientation of the hip joint and makes it go into internal rotation. In the other scenario, because the iliacus acts on the femur as an external rotator, a tight iliacus will cause the leg to rotate outward when lying down. Does this make sense?
What exercise do I do? Not explained
You need to release the tension in the key muscles the video talks about, such as the iliacus and the piriformis. Once those muscles are relaxed, the pelvis will be in a better alignment and the SI joints will be able to move and function better, without pain.
Thank you
Do you have a Q&A forum to answer questions based on medical history? I wanted an opinion to see if your product would serve any purpose prior to me purchasing
Please reach out to us at hello@alethasupport.com if you have any questions about the products and what issues they've helped other solve. For your specific issue, it is always a good idea to first be assessed by a practitioner to identify the causes and see if releasing tension in the hip flexors is part of the solution.

We ship internationally, so it could be something to check with your credit card company about. Please reach out to us at hello@alethasupport.com if you have any other questions.
is it normal to have problems with iliopsoas when you have Ol problems?
Yes, the iliopsoas and OI are commonly tight together. The iliopsoas is typically what develops tension first, as it is the larger muscle that is used in more daily actions (i.e. sitting, walking, running, etc.). Because the iliopsoas also acts on the hip joint as an external rotator, it makes the other hip external rotators more likely to develop tension. This includes the OI, piriformis, and the other of the "deep 6" hip rotators.
@@AlethaHealth could this cause your leg/foot to turn out when sitting or standing? and how many times a week would you use the hip hook? :)
Yes! At first, you'd likely want to use the Hip Hook with greater frequency (e.g. daily or at least every other day) to help the muscles learn to stay more relaxed. Over time, you'd use it on more of a maintenance schedule (e.g. 2x per week or less often) since we continue to put ourselves in positions or participate in other activities that will use the hip flexors and make them want to be tight.
Hi, I'm loving the hip hook! I noticed that people in the videos are propped up on their elbows while using it. I've been lying fully down with my head turned to one side. Thoughts on this? Thank you!
That's great to hear! Lying down over the Mark (Hip Hook) is the best position to help the abdominal muscles to fully relax and let the tip sink in deeper to access the iliacus and psoas muscles. Being on the elbows can be a way to increase the pressure (if you can sufficiently relax in that position). That view also helps people see the tool better for videos and ads so they can actually see the product and understand what it's doing. :)
@@AlethaHealth got it! Thank you
This is my problem.
Have you tried using the Mark (Hip Hook) yet to begin correcting this?

Can you do this when very pregnant?
You should not use the Mark (Hip Hook) when pregnant. If you are looking to get your hip flexors released when pregnant, it would be best to see a practitioner for in-person treatment. However, you could skip Step 1 in this sequence and perform Steps 2 & 3 using the Orbit ball and the pelvis realignment exercise.
For over a year, I've been battling hip pain and seen numerous doctors who have even talked about a hip replacement. My gut told me they were wrong and instead I sought out chiropractic care. I have been seeing an amazing chiropractor who told me to check out your videos and products. I have every single symptom/sign you listed in the video and I am so hopeful to resolve this pain. I finally feel that I have some clarity and that I am not going crazy! I ordered your hip hook this morning!
We're so happy that you found us! Please tell your chiropractor a big THANK YOU for recommending us. We hope that the Mark (Hip Hook) will prove to be the missing piece for your hip pain. Please reach out to us at hello@alethasupport.com if you have any questions once you receive your order. :)
Thanks 👍
Great video 👍
Good presentation overpriced product.
You are very misinformed about a skilled practitioner's ability to know very well when we are "holding the pressure long enough, to know we are on the right spot". As a Sports Massage therapist who works with 125 collegiate and professional athletes weekly, I am highly trained to provide the relief purported to be relieved by your interesting tools. As well, your tools are not designed to provide "long lasting relief" as athletes in training are performing repetitive motions continually in their sport and therefor have ongoing re-tightening of certain muscle groups. If this were not the case, I would not have a thriving business working in the D1 University setting. I'm on my way to Swimming Olympic Trials to serve 20 athletes who will need their hip flexors and pec minors released daily. I am interested in your tools for quick relief and will continue to study the reviews to learn more. There is no replacement for the physiotherapist whose skill set includes understanding as to hwo all the muscles that surround each area also need soft tissue manipulation to actually provide relief that is lasting.
We are all very grateful for rockstars like you who are highly skilled. Finding someone who has your level of skill is rare, which is why tools like these are important to provide options for the 99.9% who don't have access to you. And yes, if you are in a situation where you continue to create muscle tension, you do need repeated treatment. Those reasons can be repeated motions, instability, stress, and trauma.
How much do your services cost? $100/hour $200/hour? I would sure hope that spending a thousand dollars a week would result in a much better outcome. :) I've been to many professionals and only found ONE who is at your level. He was on a one year waiting list! :)
I can’t feel any muscle tension but have really bad anxiety and Cptsd. Is there anyway to become aware of this tension so I can release it??
Mental tension and physical tension can impact each other, but it all starts with awareness and understanding of how to best treat it. For your situation, it would be great to talk with a practitioner/therapist to begin identifying what is causing what you're feeling and how to best work towards improving that.
Yeah! I ticked all the boxes. Where's my prize?!
How do we prevent this upslip from re-occurring once it’s released? Are there certain exercises or stretches that must be done daily or weekly? Tku!
Muscles like the glute max and glute medius are typically weaker, so there can be a lot of benefit for adding glute/hip strengthening or stability exercises alongside your muscle release routine.
Very well explained.
Closed or open packed position. All depends if foot is on ground or in air. Also is the glut tight or inhibited? Ext rot? Deep six baby. Pinch also caused by branch of rectus femoris?.
You're right, you may notice different signs when open or closed chain, standing or lying down, etc. These were just 5 possible (and very common) signs chosen for this video. Tension in the iliacus inhibits the glutes, but they can also develop tension. Since tension in the iliacus pulls the femur into ER, that puts the deep 6 into a position where they also become tight. In our method, we have people treat tension in the hip flexors and deep 6 in the same session. And yes, there may be other tight spots in the rectus femoris or other anterior hip muscles that could be released.

LOL lemme run down to Dollar General for my "Hip Hook"
Thank you Miss. Really grateful a lot!
Wonderful! Thank you! Never felt these until a few weeks ago but the Obturator has defibrillator been talking to me and made my semitendinosous overwork-->extreme knee pain!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the thorough explanation. I am currently 72+ hours of numbness in my left thigh after using just the orbit ball. I'm hoping for resolution soon!
We're sorry to hear that. Keep using ice on the area where you used the Orbit. Hopefully that continues to improve!
Considering the iliacus is an external rotater, wouldn't strenghting your internal rotaters improve the iliacus?
Improving strength in the hip extensors and hip internal rotators can absolutely help reduce and prevent tension from developing in the iliacus. However, if the iliacus is super tense to begin with, it pulls the pelvis into an anteriorly tilted position. This pelvic position closes off the space available to move into hip internal rotation and also makes reaching hip extension more challenging, which would make those exercises less effective. By releasing the tension first, you'll be able to better strengthen into internal rotation and extension because the pelvis will be in a good position to let the hip joint move effectively.
Yhis is amazing!! Yhis could be the answer to why ive had so much pain and figting this on and off for years! I went to a really good doctor recently who has cutting edge tech and methodologies. He interviewed me and examained me for about 3 hours. He went through my entire medical history since i was a child, both internal and external injuries, diseases, and disorders. Ive never interacted with a doctor like this who was so methodical and meticulous. He noticed right away i had rib flare, right shoilder high, right hip high, seeming leg discrepancy, lateral and rotational pelvic tilt, anterior pelvic tilt. Then he performed ultrasound and nerve test on my whole body and found several, several examples of tendinopathy, down to the tiny muscles and tendons. I was blown away from this information. He recommended a customized PT program to target my weaknesses and the ultrasound findings and several bouts of shockwave therapy and possibly prolotherapy. The shockwave therapy isnt cheap but ive had corticosteroid and PRP injections before, both in my right SI Joint. I dont know if the injections ever helped but i was pain free for the first time since the accident that started my SI joint and hip/glute pain 2 years prior, and that moment occurrd about 6 or 7 months after the PRP shot. I still dont have an explanation why i was pain free and the only thing that might make sense is the PRP injection taking over 6 months to kick in. I was pain free for about 1.5 years before i fell off the wagon with working out and diet and the pain slowly came back. I have been thinking its due to overactive psoas and illac, QL, and weak glutes, but then why the pain only on right? Either my disc bulge is shifted to the right and referring pain or my SI Joint isnt stable. The fibers, tendons, ligaments are stretched and have no proper support. But after watching this video, im wondering if the pelvis being lateral tilted and rotated is why i am having pain! And maybe the hips are uneven and rotated because the tissue is weak. The tendons. The ligaments. Stretched. So thats why it goes back to injection and shockwave, to heal the tendons and ligaments and muscle so that it is strong and flexible to hold everything in proper alignment and balance. If i only do PT, it couod take a long time to build up strength while trying ti figure out how to get my pelvis back in proper alignment. There is no question about the imbalance. It's just a matter of what's the best method to approach.
I was a SERIOUS doubter. I just took it out of the box today and went on a 5K run. I’m blown away at how much better I feel!
Who the heck has these tools at home???
Lots of people have them!
Working on it 💪 reading the book and using the hip hook, I'll leave a review after a month or 2 :)

Thank u so much this helped the pelvic exercise helped a bunch is there any alternatives I can do if I don’t have the equipment
If you don't have the Mark (Hip Hook), the best way to release the iliacus would be to see a practitioner for manual treatment. Releasing the back of the hip can be achieved using another massage therapy ball that you may have, or from a practitioner.
I was wondering why my knots wouldn’t go away. I just have to hold on them longer! So valuable to know, thank you
You're welcome!
