I Remember You by James Clay

In 1960, Clay made his greatest impact, leading two excellent albums for Riverside. “The Sound of the Wide Open Spaces,” teams him with David “Fathead” Newman (another Texas tenor), pianist Wynton Kelly, bassist Sam Jones, and drummer Arthur Taylor. The two tenors battle it out on a variety of tunes and the results are a tie for the saxophonists and a victory for the listeners. “A Double Dose o...

Kansas city southern, I'm a kc girl🎉
Great version. Now without drums and 2 🎹 🎹 instead!: czcams.com/video/csYdxw2a1BU/video.html
Pure jazz incredible version
PERFECT !
This is so good.
My name is McCartney, James McCartney.
Excellent songwriting by Mr Jackson and this is, in my humble opinion, the best version.
Ray Charles in 1958 at Newport. He was titeled the High Priest and had built the bridge between r&b and soul. He was on his way to his break-through in 1959. The instrumentals his band played added greatly to his unique and soulful r&b.
Oh, Laura! You break my heart every tine you sing!
Leon, Leon, Leon Russell, we're hanging by a thread without you!
Why is this lost? Out if all the versions on CZcams this is no where to be found
This is one of the most Epic songs ever created! With the powerful/haunting vocals of Kooper and the pulse pounding guitar work of Katz!
This track by Count Basie was recorded May 22. 1974, the same date of tha album THE COUNT BASIE TRIO: FOR THE FIRST TIME with the late Ray Brown, bass and Louie Bellson on drums fir the PABLO label. It is my favorite track of all the tracks recorded that day and it did not make the initial album. I love to hear those cuts where the Count lets looae a lot more some of his pianisic prowess. The sly and bashful Count could really rip on the piano when the mood struck him. Bravo, Count!
My daddy went to Beulah land Sunday night. Someday I will be with him again.
Wow - sung in the same key as Lefty's version. Brilliant!
If this was recorded in 1997, Jimmie Davis would've been around 98 years old at the time of this recording. I'm amazed at how good he sounds for nearly 100 years old. He was born in 1899...I believe he died in 2000 or 2001. There's videos of him performing at the Grand Ole Opry, at 95...and he sounded great! His early recordings sound very much like Jimmie Rogers...probably because it was around the same time period.
The sound of silence of the needle playing on the old record player always reminded me of kids, humans, and people chewing candy and gum of all kinds in their mouths candy from the 1960’s and 1970’s before tune, music and song plays and after record ends you still here those old candy, gums chewing in your mouth sounds the needle makes.

Well now, listen people let me tell you some news I'll sing a song called the crude oil blues We're low on heat 'n' all We're low on gas And I'm so cold I'm about to freeze myself We got the crude oil blues Cause the winter time sure gets cold to the bottom of my shoes Well my hands are shakin' and my knees are weak But it ain't because of love It's from lack of heat I'm gonna tell you a story about this drunk I know He kept his basement full of homemade brew But the winter got so bad it screwed up the boy's thinkin' He got so cold he had to burn all his drinkin' He's got the crude oil blues He said the wintertime can sure get cold to the bottom of your shoes He said, burnin' this booze just destroys my soul But there's one thing about it honey When you're cold, you're cold I've got the crude oil blues Well, when we made this record there was a little bit of doubt Whether or not the ting was ever gonna come out I said, "Hey chief, you reckon this record will be released?" He said, "Son, we ain't got enough oil to keep the pressed greased" We got the crude oil blues And son, if we can't make records then we don't need you I said, "What am I gonna do if I can't sing and pick?" He said, "Well just keep yourself warm playin' all them hot licks" We got the crude oil blues. Oh mama, don't forget to bring in the brass monkey And remember what Albert Einstein said "That coolin' is conducive to cuddlin'" Honey I love ya but pass the duck down Hey I read a sign on the pump at my favorite gas station the other day It said uh, "He who expecteth nothin' ain't gonna be deceived"
I love every song on this album.

I Just heard about her Today my Son Barry who is a musician I'm The East Street Band, called me, To tell me about. So I have been Listening to her All day , Absolutely Wonderful , Love her voice & Songs. Thank you
Spectacular.
The sheer hurtling velocity of the record almost makes my head snap back, as if I'd suddenly jumped on a meteor. Bluegrass at its banjo-bangin' best!
This song is what I imagine the inside of my computer sounds like. <3
So great. Bought this album as a teenager
Thank God this music exists
Right after intro, I get a commercial. Nice.
Dios lo seguira bendiciendo siempre
Nobody has ever played this tune as fast and smoothly as The great Benny Goodman. And I have heard them all.
Didn't know they did this one.
Awesome!!!! (Listened This Song on WMOT Roots Radio 89.5)
Why is this song no longer on versions of this album? It was one of my favorite covers from Pay the Devil.
Love Leon. This song sounds like Made In Japan by Buck Owens.
