Great topic Hank!!!🤓i don't get why you can't fish the same tournament and just have two sign up? One is traditional group and the other is FFS🫤same Lake, same Day, same fishing hours🤓. Base the payout from the sign up sheet. Some say it can't be done😱 but I'm here to tell you it can🤪😜. It's no different then fishing Adult division and youth division, or Boater and Co-Angler, they both compete but in different categories 🤔 Sign up for the category you want to fish in😎

Hank, SaraBeth and you have a great show I have come to enjoy. I'm 65 yr old angler that still loves to fish. Change is so needed to get the tournament competition back to its traditional roots. Your wisdom is really needed today. I have expressed my opinions regarding the current atmosphere surrounding tournament fishing. I have experienced so much hateful responses to my opinions, it has made me realize how different we have become in a sport that I love. I would have never made a commit to a elder angler no matter if I had a difference of opinion back in my 20's. We need BASS to stand strong and listen to people that knew what Ray's vision was since tournament fishing drives a lot of our sport. God Bless.

I think some pros are convicted on this issue not thinking it's right. I have kinda changed my opinion alittle on it. But just like you were convicted not to have a beer sponsor you had your reasons for that. Some pros just feel the same about ffs but to compete the have to. This is wrong to make someone go against thier convictions. Just like me my convictions are bed fishing and deer camera's not saying they are wrong but to me something inside me says Rusty you don't need to do this so I don't. So to the old school pros or young pros that don't wNt to do it they are kinda forced to do it to try to keep up. I feel like bass kinda took way to long to do anything it's hurt alot off non ffs pros in the last 2 to 3 yrs well guys that's just how it is suck it up and learn no matter how you feel about it. Wow and not to mention the bait companies that have seen their sales drop on non ffs baits. Is bass and the big 3 sonar companies helping to offset thier loses I doubt it. one with one without 2 lake classic all fish all 4 days 2 days ffs 2 days without. I am trying to see both sides now but the ffs side don't want to not use it so it's very hard. Looked what happened to the PGA so big tournament organizations. Be careful.

It will be hard to do with all the money running it. It's not really about fishing its about the money. And I don't have to tell you what the Bible says about the love of money. The only way I can see it being fair is one tournament with one without. Limiting it to one unit won't change a thing still be dominated by it I'm afraid. Or have to divisions like Mr. Bobby said. Know you don't agree but if you want the best it needs to be in all techniques. That's who is the best. All I here is these young anglers can do it to. The proof is in the pudding. I'm all for the young anglers I love taking them fishing but it thier one sidedness now is what kills me. Much respect to you my brother in Christ keep spreading the gospel this is the most important thing we can do on this earth. You two are doing a great job!

Hank, I can not believe you see nothing wrong with watching technology and those companies take over your sport, considering what it took for you to reach the top. There is a reason you can not shine deer and there are reasons other sports have boundaries on their equipment. Look what tech could do to the baseball bat. Talking against tech does not benefit the speaker it benefits the fish.

I've been a long-time fan of Hank Parker's Outdoor Magazine, and I'd love to see some more of the old episodes from the fourth season. I remember watching them when I was younger, and it's great to see how the show has evolved over time. I especially love how Hank shares his passion for the outdoors and teaches viewers so much about hunting, fishing, and the environment. I know there are many other fans out there who would love to watch the Season 4 episodes again, so I hope you'll consider uploading them to your CZcams channel.👍

A lot of the younger people with ffs are so good they can snag fish in some states it is illegal to snag game fish 😂 l watched 2 guys fishing in a tournament one hung the fish in the eye other in the gill

Dont know if Hank Sr remembers a young angler bending his ear dang near off at a boat ramp in Traverse City Michigan well Hank that young man went on to run a charterboat on Lake Michigan and has been running charters and private boats out of the Keys now for 15 years. Hank and Al Lindner both gave that kid the time of day and then some!! Every kid has their heroes and those two men were mine!!! Thanks from that young angler who happened to be me

Great discussion with well thought out concerns and reasoning - most importantly, done so with the intention of open discourse that leads to a mutual understanding. Communication, critical thinking, and perspective disappeared quicker than these technological advancements that rearranged amazing accomplishments of this sport. The question of, "where is this going to lead?" Is a fundamental consideration that was never weighed when establishing fishing as a professional sport. Every other professional athletic commission consistently evaluates emerging/upcoming technology/equipment/PEDs to restrict them in a professional setting. That's the bar that separates us amateur enjoyers from those who have crafted and honed undeniable, elite proficiency in a sport that adheres to the values of when it was established. It concerns me when people regurgitate the same technology advancement defense on this topic. I feel(opinion) that the standardization of off-limits equipment is something commonly understood. Technology advances on an exponential track, so banning new products that rapidly improve us regulars performance with minuscule effort when compared to true professionals is accepted in every other sport. In my opinion: the mindset of just adopting the latest and greatest to our essential toolkit will ultimately kill this sport. Viewership of bass live continues to decline with a lot of anglers saying scoping creates a separation of a once beloved sport. I understand there's a learning curve to FFS, but it's not as big for these kids who grow up with technology - complete digital understanding before graduating elementary school. The launch in and going to the fish, casting a few times to see which bait and retrieve combination connects a hit on the plethora of screens they look down at is soooo boring. Again, that's just my opinion. I feel electronics should be set at the bare minimum in a professional setting. I'm a no-one from no wheresville who just recently started doing some working man tournaments on a patched together boat. I enjoy getting out there and learnig with some lowstakes competition. It has really deepend my admiration of those pros who stil value the foundations of the sport.

They used restrictor plates on some Nascar tracks....and it was different to watch..being old school I say ffs should not be allowed in BASS tournaments ....

Great conversation and great view points from both of you. FFS is a tool just like finesse fishing was when it became popular. For those of us that ran the banks throwing spinnerbaits and jigs, it was eye opening to see someone fishing a finesse worm and catching a lot of bass. Years ago there was the PH meter, Color Selector that followed with the old flasher units. There were those anglers that could read a flasher far greater than others and catch fish suspended or on off shore cover that others just rode by. Then came the paper graph and those that didn’t have one complained that those that did had an advantage, maybe they did if they took the time to learn it. Then the LCR that has led to today FFS. What will be next? It’s probably close with advancing technology, but just like sight fishing for bedding fish, you’re not going to catch them every time and every fish you see on FFS won’t be caught every time. It is interesting seeing all the discussions, well done Hank, Mary Beth, and Garmin Guru for this one, it was really good. May God continue to bless each of you.
