Brian Latimer just did a video yesterday where he challenged for other high school fisherman to a small tournament, only stipulation was no FFS, the four high school kids were disappointed, but they did not whine about it too much, they picked their lures they fished their styles in the water depths of their choice and they all did fine and caught fish
Anybody that says you have to have this new technology to catch fish, I don’t know about all that 🇺🇸👍

When you go fishing, you’re supposed to look at the water the structure, the habitats your surroundings you’re not supposed to stare at a 22 inch TV and catch fish with it, This technology isn’t the best answer just like a lot of things in life, and in most sports rookies don’t come out and dominate over veterans, and I don’t mean to be disrespectful to the young guys, but I think you got a win without it if you want props 🇺🇸👍
Hank I can take it or leave it. I have ffs on my boat and I heard John Crews say something about maybe a time limit with ffs. I do not know the answer to this thing. I do like watching when people like you and the other forefathers of bass fishing better. There are days and some of my best tournaments was when I had 0 electronics on like I did when I learned to fish in the early 80"s. Got bless and keep the cast coming.
Great conversation and great view points from both of you. FFS is a tool just like finesse fishing was when it became popular. For those of us that ran the banks throwing spinnerbaits and jigs, it was eye opening to see someone fishing a finesse worm and catching a lot of bass. Years ago there was the PH meter, Color Selector that followed with the old flasher units. There were those anglers that could read a flasher far greater than others and catch fish suspended or on off shore cover that others just rode by. Then came the paper graph and those that didn’t have one complained that those that did had an advantage, maybe they did if they took the time to learn it. Then the LCR that has led to today FFS. What will be next? It’s probably close with advancing technology, but just like sight fishing for bedding fish, you’re not going to catch them every time and every fish you see on FFS won’t be caught every time. It is interesting seeing all the discussions, well done Hank, Mary Beth, and Garmin Guru for this one, it was really good. May God continue to bless each of you.

I heard it mentioned about 2 leagues one with FFS and the without. That sure sounds like a option and it put fisherman on a equal Feild. A lot of fisherman don’t have the $$$ that this Technology cost. I don’t see a problem being in a league which fits your fishing and being on a equal playing Feild . In hunting you have archery , rifle , muzzle loader , early & late hunts. Just my 2 cents .. I enjoy your videos keep up the great work
Im old school as they come i dont like change either and i cant stand computers kol. but in my mind i know i cant stop them just like in my mind i know i cant stop FFS so i adapted things change nothing ever stays the same but death and taxes lol ..i repect mr hank parker very much hes a living legend and love old school bass masters love watching them older vids ...but i know i cant stop technology so i adapted like rick clunn is trying to do its that simple adapt or dont period !!!!
I would love to see two tournament series, one for the traditional bass fishing and for the FFS crowd. I have stopped watching any bass tournaments due to this video game fishing non- sense. Being a professional video game player does not make you a professional bass fisherman. IMO
Learning to find fish on your own is part of the sport, period.
Using FFS for data acquisition is fine, but to use it to find fish for you during a tournament, no way.
If we think that this young generation had the ability to catch fish without livescope there is one way to see change up the tournaments one with one without but my personal opinion is that they couldn't maybe some could but the majority no. When you put your trolling motor down and just cruise not casting till they see a fish. I have witnessed this myself. Had a young man come in a cove I was crappie fishing he ask if he could run down it I said sure he went all around it never made a cast and went out if we think this is great for our sport wow
Bill Dance has plenty of views still today. Take a lesson here. Dance fishes right where most of us live, simple, no electronics, and a friendly, non-controversial environment.
Artificial Intelligence will be coming soon to fishing. Nobody is willing to be the voice of ethics in bass fishing. We will have to change the name of the sport, because it will not be angling. Instead of Bass Anglers Sportsman Society...it will have to be Bass Anglers Computer Society.
They used restrictor plates on some Nascar tracks....and it was different to watch..being old school I say ffs should not be allowed in BASS tournaments ....
Just saying all high school kids and college students can't afford all that stuff

FFS is great but not for tournament fishing. Other sports stay with their traditional rules. It has and is pushing older guys out of tournament fishing.
People who use ffs listen to Fl/Ga line.

Tournament fishing was awesome before ffs . We don't need two trails . Our sport was built on tradition so why are we changing it to satisfy the electronics companies ? This is always going to cause controversy . It is unfortunate that some what to change it . The division is already here listen to how people talk , old guys and young guys . The Jeanie is out of the bottle .
Please don't bring tournaments to new lakes. You've been part of ruining the lakes you traditionally compete on, don't ruin anymore. Please...

A tournament for traditional anglers that respect fair chase, and a tournament for the cheaters that don't have ethics.
Everyone is payin whip out. Its all to impress their friends. I bought a 2016 Skeeter last year. I didnt give much more than you are looking to spend. Its gonna be my last boat. I to, refuse to pay 100K for a boat. So all you smartasses out there thats saying, you aint gonna buy one cause you cant afford one. I can afford one with ALL the fixins. Just aint spending the money.
Great topic Hank!!!🤓i don't get why you can't fish the same tournament and just have two sign up? One is traditional group and the other is FFS🫤same Lake, same Day, same fishing hours🤓. Base the payout from the sign up sheet. Some say it can't be done😱 but I'm here to tell you it can🤪😜. It's no different then fishing Adult division and youth division, or Boater and Co-Angler, they both compete but in different categories 🤔 Sign up for the category you want to fish in😎
Big money can bring out the worst from the dishonest 🙄baseball, football, hockey, fishing all have players that are dishonest and non of the above sports are without these players 🥱so the honest sponsored fisherman will try to get the latest and greatest to try to even out the playing field before the product hits the market which puts the non endorsed honest angler at a disadvantage 🙄🥱😳
That's a valid point. For someone to have access to new technology before the rest of the field, that's an unfair advantage
Ok but that’s nothing new to the sport. How many times have anglers covered up lures from cameras because it’s a secret prototype lure. How long was KVD using his hydro wave before it came to market?
I don’t think that honesty has as much to do with sponsorships as you are getting at. Sponsorships at all levels of the deals are more about how much you can do for the brand, do you show up and represent the company in a way that they want to be represented and in some cases how much you can help move the bottom line for the company. You can be the most honest guy in the room but if you don’t live up to your deliverables you won’t have a deal for long, and it can go the other way too
