Coupling transformer feedback-Works (sometimes)!
zhlédnutí 635Před měsícem
In this video, we test whether it is possible to use feedback from the induction heater coupling transformer instead of using a current shunt on the primary tank. The advantage is that the current is much much lower and there is much less wasted energy. There were many problems with using wire shunts including melting of the wire and failed components. One of the advantages is that at least 20 ...

    Thank you for sharing the video. Could you please repeat this experiment and put polyethylene close to the coil? Electrons in it are supposed to reach relativistic speeds slowing down time and shifting thermal radiation. So, you might see polyethylene as hot on a thermal camera while it remained at room temperature using a contact thermometer.

    • @BrianDhvTinkerer
      @BrianDhvTinkerer Před 10 dny

      It’s a good question. Resistance is proportional to length. At higher voltages, there are less losses for the same length and thickness of the wire. The set up I’m using is a 48 V set up to minimize wire losses. 12 V set up, lose more energy as heat for the same length and thickness of wire according to the formula V squared/R.

    Yes the loop noise can get extremely tricky. Shortest possible connections for the main feedback loop of course and running the trunk through a high permanency ferrite ring just before feedback entry on the buck controller will do the trick. Getting the buck back into loop and adding a few extra foot to the spark! Ggy made note of this I believe, it's just not shown in his schematic. We greatly appreciate your explanations and illustrations. Big salute to you and Loneocean's both!

    Question about the aluminum powder, is it "pure aluminum" or "aluminum oxide" powder? For this experiment I got the "pure aluminum" powder in 10-20 micron fineness, For packaging I used commercially available polypropylene non-woven bags, double bagged and stapled tight. The aluminum particles was so tiny that some of them "leaked" thru the packaging and turn the water kind of "silvery" looking At the end the heat reaction did not occurred. May be there are some ingredients missing, like sodium bicarbonate? For this experiment I wore latex gloves, and mask to avoid breathing in and touching the aluminum powder.

    Plain and simple Permethrin is not safe as an inhalant. Every bit of documentation for the product is clear about that. It can cause headache, dizziness, vomiting, muscle weakness. Further, and more direct to your question, it's also really stupid to use it in this manner. Monumentally stupid. Permethrin is highly toxic to certain organisms such as insects and arachnids while being relatively mild to others such as humans. We owe the majority of our nontoxic response to permethrin to our omnivore livers which process it quite well when it is absorbed through our skins. So we just keep on going, no harm, no foul when the same exposure will outright kill animals without that versatile liver such as insects or arachnids, or cause drastic and permanent harm to those with lesser toxin handling functionality, notably fish, amphibians, or the ever beloved but obligate carnivore housecat. The most obvious mild indication of permethrin toxicity is tremors but the range of nervous system effects is broad including seizures, muscle weakness, lack of muscular control, blindness, and death. So - if you take some permethrin and concentrate it back into solid form (all of the liquids sold are suspensions and the higher concentrate ones may have flammable solvents in them) and apply heat to that to get some dispersion and breathe it, you will likely manage to inhale enough of it fast enough to get it delivered to your nervous system faster than your liver can get it out of you. The results would be interesting to a number of researchers but certainly not beneficial. My bet would be ttat you'll nake yoursrlf into a permanent dusability case. Now - I imagine you're more likely discussing 'recharging' your pad using the 1% stuff sold for treating clothing. Which is going to be far less harmful to - everything. I know that's primarily diluted with water. That's a clue for you. The higher concentrated the permethrin, the more brownish the liquid appears. The white color occurs when you mix in a lot of water. If you soak your pad in that you probably won't create a particularly harmful situation for yourself. Or bugs. That's weak as shit. Still not something I'd be deliberately breathing though. Not because I have any particular fear of the toxicity but just because you don't go around inhaling random shit because that's a good way to become the warning for future generations. Bottom line is that it is likely very bad for you. It also may not be doing anything that you want it to do. Pernethrin is NOT Allethrin. Trying to use them to replace one another just because they both have 'thrin' in the name is monumentally stupid. There are no commercial heat dispersion permethrin devices on the market for good reason. The next stupid question is, "Can you prove it?" No, and I shouldn't have to. This is dumber than pumping diesel into the trunk of a Tesla because it's a car and that's fuel for a car.

    • @BrianDhvTinkerer
      @BrianDhvTinkerer Před měsícem

      The coil generates a high intensity oscillating magnetic field that rapidly switches poles from N to S to S to N etc so only things that can conduct electricity heat up because of eddy currents. A piece of metal acts as a shorted one turn secondary coil magnetic field in them will heat up. These oscillating fields are especially good at heating iron because of hysteresis effects on the randomly aligned magnetic dipoles in the iron workpiece
