Blackstone E-Series Electric Griddle 17inch Unboxing, Usage and Seasoning?
How did adding an external thermometer resolve the built-in probe variability?
Try using ice instead of water to clean. It works best.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I used lard from a hog instead of butter.... just saying
You need to put Honey on it before you seal it up and put it back on the grill... Try it I know you will like it....
The E-Series non-stick griddle codeine will only last approximately a year-and-a-half to 2 years. I have tried to contact Blackstone several times for a replacement griddle and nobody answers the phone nor am I able to find a replacement griddle online.
thanks for showing the cleanup and accessories -- weber is a no-brainer
Agreed. I've been waiting years for my 26.5" Weber to die so I can snag a PK. The cleaning process alone makes me think I'll just go to a 22.5" Weber when it finally does die.
Any issue with cash build up on your PK. I have the pk360 and long cooks are tough. So much ash builds up it chokes the fire out. I’ll have to try the bb logs you used in this video
They both have their place. Good job explaining it. I personally like the propane but use it only camping.
Can you see if the cold rolled griddle will fit on the eateries without the lid ? Please let me know :)
Really good review!
I bought this same griddle a year ago from a liquidation store but it was missing the grease catcher for the back... I can't seem to find a replacement... is there another one I can purchase to fit?? or do you know we're I can find a replacement
I feel very fortunate. I won a new old stock original pk for $189 on an auction site. Must be the bidders didn’t know how much these things cost. Also aluminum will not rust which is a huge bonus for me. It’s by far the best grill I’ve ever owned.
So you could use these as a stove top I am guessing. I don't have room for an outdoor stove and an outdoor griddle. If the blackstone can do double duty that makes it very attractive.
Seen in other videos that the temps on this unit are wildly inaccurate for the smoker side (actual temp of grill vs set point) . Did you happen to do any actual testing regarding that?
I got myself the 22" e series with prep cart today for $100 bucks. Walmart was getting rid of all their displays, and wanted 150, but i talked them down to 100. Lol
I was told that the lid that comes with the Adventure 17" tabletop griddle is not hinged like the older model and you cannot use it when cooking. Is this correct?
Is there an update on the non-stick griddle coating?
I've had it now for years and use it at least a few times a month and its still really nice non stick!
I'm looking at the e series because I'm moving into a apartment complex. And they do not want grills on the property outside grills. But I still like to cook my hamburgers. Mistakes and things like that. So I figured this would be nice easy. To queen and I can still cook
Nice!
Can you use the electric outsode and leave it outside in inclement weather?
I dont think it would be a good idea, it might cause some issues, but if you have a cover on it and dont leave it plugged in, it might be good
@griddleking yeah that's what I figured haha. Thank you
PK grills are awesome and are far superior quality. Yes expensive compared to the Weber but you get what you pay for. I’m not knocking Weber, they are great grills and have excellent accessories. I would buy one as they are budget friendly, I was considering a master touch but opted for the PK300AF. I also own a Char Griller Patio Pro. That’s an awesome grill which I’ve owned for 10 years and still looks good as new, needs a lot more TLC and regular seasoning.
I agree, I live my PK, but its hard to beat value for money with Weber Kettles too!
Ordered mine today! Good video man..
Awesome! Thank you!
Is the giveaway still going on??
The thermometer is accurate Point it at a shaded surface if you want to test air temperature
easy access to the ash pot to empty?
Super Easy and hidden from the elements inside the double doors below
Anyone have an update on how the non stick surface holds up after time on the e series? After a fair amount of research i think the e series is the griddle for me im just worried about the coating
I've had it now for years and use it at least a few times a month and its still really nice non stick!
@@griddleking thank you! I bought one shortly after posting this comment and have been using it like crazy! It's perfect for my meal prep! It just might be the best thing I've ever spent my money on! 🤣
Pk will never rost at any conditions. Better standard equipment. Weber rost on the 2 saison outdoor. I’ve got both. Pk top
Got the 22 indoor I love it use it 2-3 times a week. Cleans with damp dish towel
Great to hear!
I'm 68 years old and my PK belonged to my grandparents. When my grandmother died in 2007 at 98 years old, almost 99 I wound up with the grill. My PK is over 60 years old and still cookin'!! It's always lived in a carport or porch and it's in excellent original condition. It's second to none in cook quality. I love mine and every time I use it, it brings back great memories.
Thats awesome to hear and exactly why i own two types of PK's
Did it not heat when you turned it on?
i have a weber kettle performer and i love it nothing wrong with it, but i do want to get a pk just to have and try out.
Nonstick surfaces don't really lose their coating. The coating becomes contaminated from oils and greases over the course of usage. Nonstick pan surfaces can be restored using a vinegar water solution and with a baking soda treatment afterwards. This grill surface is probably better than nonstick skillets. Also, as almost everything else now, prices are about double what is mentioned in the video for the electric one.
Weber assembles in USA, all parts are shipped in from China. Made in not manufactured in.
Quit your wining 😢about cleaning your hood...take the damn thing off and simply wash it with Dawn and a soft dish brush! Simple This Blackstone E series is the greatest griddle ever made Simple clean up (for a real man anyway) I'll never purchase a steel gas fired griddle again!
you can use the electric griddle outdoors too. All you need is a small generator or a 12 volt outlet in the bed of your truck, like I do.
Doing anymore cooking videos with the outdoor cooking flat top soon?
My biggest gripe is, come on baby it's a Blackstone they should have put a proper grill surface on the damn thing.
I personally would not have used a brisket to compare for size. Although you can cook a brisket on either I don’t think either is ideal for a brisket (unless you’re using a deflector plate on the PK). I think a pork butt would be a much better comparison.
I have a Weber q 100 that I have cleaned up, thanks for the info. The insulating washer between the grill box and the frame has cracked and I need to replace. The frame has been discontinued and is not available. Do you have any suggestions for what I could use for insulating washers or to make them?
The heat spaces on the lid handle for a 300/3000 series family Q are the same spaces they use between the Cookbox legs and the cradle arm.
Have you had an issue with pellets damming?
Not as of yet, but i do my best to stay on top of cleaning and keeping out of rain
What are your overall thoughts on this unit? I've seen some mixed reviews, going as far as returning it.
So far so good, its rock solid on temp, only complaint is 1-4 degree variants in temp of probes. Makes for a tough time timing certain BBQ meats.
Weber all the way
Screen looks just like my Pitboss one .. maybe a manufacturing collab
Agreed, likely the same manufacturer contracts to both. Thanks for the comment!
Nice all in one , The controller looks exactly like the Pit Boss controller , and how is it for producing smoke , I have a PB 1150 and I am not satisfied with the lack of smoke it produces.
So far so good, I'm doing another smoked recipe soon so I'll go over smoke output and smoke ring/flavor, etc to hopefully show how this one does with smoke
@@griddleking look forward to it
Just curious why the grommet for the temperature probes wasn’t installed? Awesome to see the cook & some feed back on that combo.
It was installed, I'm a dummy and accidently ripped it off when I ripped off the plastic cover. 🤪
Fair enough, I'm a dummy too.😅
Congratulations you’re the first person on CZcams to cook on this new smoker. Thinking about purchasing it myself, but I am wrestling with the idea of Blackstones first pellet smoker and wondering how it will perform. Thanks for putting the video out. I really appreciate it.😀
Thanks Mike! Ive cooked a few things on it so far and its done really well, ill update if anything changes. Cheers!
Any update to this E series Electric griddle? We Want a new electric griddle or grill with lid for our Camping trips when we are paying for electricity already.....
Ive been using it steady for 2 years now and its still great! You cant go wrong.
I wish I could remember where I read it. But an article said the new original Pk grills are still cast in the USA. But no longer in Arkansas that has been moved under contract to Iowa. It’s the 360 and the little portable that are made in china. My $1200.00 Genesis Weber gas grill is made in China but it is a sweet grill.
Agreed, you cant get far these days without things being made in China, so long as you are liking it! The Weber Genesis is an awesome grill!
Mine burns out after a couple of uses
Thats a bummer, there isnt many reviews that mention it, it might be just a fluke and you should contact Blackstone
