The ending was definitely retconned!!! Eren was willing make sacrifices in order to ensure the survival and future of eldia including his father and mother but he couldn't sacrifice his friends??? Does that make sense??? That's not Eren at all!! Isayama was definitely ordered to change the ending bcos there's no way he would intentionally ruin Erens character!!!

Absolutely disagree on the analysis of the ending. Eren's friends did have peace since the war that came after is far into the future. If the Rumbling succeeded and Paradis' people would have been the only people left, eventually there will be a war anyway between the Eldians. The whole point is that was is inevitable, but it's worth fighting for peace, not genociding the other.

The problem with Floch, is that through his 'becoming of the devil', he became a fascistic menace in his own island. He was the one creating the fear. What's the point of living without fear?

The real Devil in Magica Madoka is Kyubie and the Incubators. Their the ones who set the entire thing into motion just so they wouldn't have to Die with the Universe. They Willingly caused pain and devastation to parasitically extend their own power. They Lie and manipulate everyone into getting what they desired, with no repercussion placed upon themselves. Then at the end Kyubie mentions that it was all for not because the Universe will still end with God Madoka becoming a Cosmic witch. For all there talk of Logic, Homura is the Logical Conclusion to the mess they set up to extent the Universe. They Even admit as much in the End of rebellion when Homura is reshaping the Cosmos. They shouldn't have tried to calculate for chaos. It was all a Mistake. In the end Homura knew this and thus she set up the Incubators to play an active role in their scheme. They now suffer the Burden of the Witches Grief, so even in the end Madoka will remain a Magical Girl. Homura got her wish.

As you said, there was no meaning to the story if it ended like that. They achieved nothing, all the sacrifices were meaningless and we as the readers got slapped on the face. I mean I did enjoy watching the show and it's still in my top 10 despite having seen 300+ anime but if not for the ending it would be on the first place. What I am satisfied with is the fact that I finally found someone like you who shares my thoughts and opinion. When aot's final episode was released I watched a bunch of videos, reactions and read a lot of comments to search for people who had similar point of view as me but it was all for nothing. I hope you are doing well and I wish you everything good, also thanks for the video. It made me smile which is really nice considering the fact that my life is going downhill for quite a long time.

I hate this ending, it should have ended with a full destruction of the world along with deaths of a few more main characters. That way the cycle would end.

Although Floch had some saddistic moments, I believe he did that only because it was needed to keep people in place and ensure stability. I remember having a huge "ból dupy" (which translates as pain in the ass), when I saw him supposedly dying both times (I didn't know he survived the first time). From the start I understood the need to proceed with the rumbling and I supported both Eren and Floch. On the other side I immediatelly stopped liking the "main" squad after seeing them killing their own people and even more when they contributed to killing Eren. The ending scene showing the destruction of Eldia was even more heartbreaking to me, it was not the ending I was hoping for. I was and I will stay as a Yeagerist.

Ironically, I think Madoka is a good girl. She sacrificed herself to save every magical from turning into witches. While I like Homura, she worked for selfish reasons. She wanted to protect Madoka due to an unhealthy obsession born from her despair and love. However, each time she did something wrong. What she should have done was talk to Madoka DIRECTLY-not vague warnings or keeping silent and being mysterious. She disregarded the other girls (cuz their deaths were inevitable) in the current timeline but she was always on the aggressive. It’s understandable that none of this turned out well.

I am new the whole magical girls thing and I for one fully agree Homura did nothing wrong. Truly feeling for her and honestly she is now my favorite magical girl, I can relate to her desire to save someone precious to you regardless the risks you must take to save them, even from themselves if you had a way to do so. Honestly, if you had a way to save someone you love and care for, someone truly precious to you, from something that could do them great harm or them harming themselves...wouldn't you risk it all for them? It's not an easy question for everyone, but if I had a chance to save someone precious to me, knowing how and what to do to truly save them in the best possible way, I would give it my all personally. So I relate to Homura here.

I think Ultra Magnus was the best character in the show, he was actually handled well compared to a decent portion of the characters, also his voice actor did an amazing job. I wish he had the design of his prime RID toy though, cause jeez the one he ended up having is just optimus with a different chest, head, and shoulder stacks.
