one time a gutting disaster happened to me with a clone of an american lock 1100, it went well until i realised... SHORT. KEY. PIN. it was so short that even the driver pin went out with the key pin lol i lost the key pin at first so i thought the driver pin was a badly made key pin and each time it wouldent work because again its the driver pin so each time i just had to go and pick the lock until i finally found the key pin and realised that was a driver pin and eventually fixed the lock. oh god it took like 30 minutes.

How do you decide at the beginning which way to pick??Towards the numbers on the edge of the tool or towards the blanks? I've seen people mention thus but not explain it.Thanks.

That pick is just a new version of the original pick by Jim Reykopf made some 30 years ago. No pin in the lock.

The first time i used this tool, it got stuck in my customers barrel. I then spent over an hour trying to get it back out. Then discovered that one of the little sliders was still inside the barrel. This tool is now in the bin. Now use a lishi pick instead

im from america and we are just starting to get these on the newest vws. it was a auction vehicle and it was all keys lost. having not seen the key i had to make a guess that the key would only work going in one way due to the side cuts. could you do a in depth video on the differences as well as a decoding. this was helpful. ty

Are you turning the lock when picked towards the front or rear of the van?

Mine arrived yesterday and I'm glad it didn't work on my 2000 Volkswagen Golf. N idea why it didn't work. I assumed this type of HU66 only worked on years 2005 and up for VW. But I lack knowledge of much automotive locks.

How much does it cost?

The 0's are supposed to be stiff. Allows you to do the code in the dark as you can set them all to 0 easily and then count. I'm having problems with a brand new one of these locks. There's no play at all in any combination.

Would this kit be good for padlocks? Because that's would I'd probably mainly practice on. Cheers.

Thanks a lot!!!! This is the third video I tried and the method works! I'm in! I just made my own tool out of some screwfix Galvanised Steel Flat Bar I had lying around (just bent it about an inch down, no hook). I actually had the grille off (asper video #2, pretty easy to snap off!), so I used one hand to help ensure tool was in right place )and angle of bend was correct) before twisting.
