Am I missing something ? I always needed the irrigation tower mainly for during a draught.. If I didn’t irrigate the trees and the crops at least for the moment then the trees would die. How do I properly farm trees without the irrigation tower to keep them alive thru the draught?

funnily enough even the Protoss consider the SCV to be an impressive technological achievement: in game mechanics they're just a basic RTS worker drone but in lore they're more akin to an engineering-specialized Gundam complete with needing a nuclear reactor to run all the gadgets they've shoved into it. they have a toolset that can do most things as-is and can be rapidly recombined and/or used in conjunction to do very nearly _anything_ and usually do it smoothly and efficiently throughout. they are a versatile and powerful crafting tool to the point where, again, the race who use subatomic manufacturing to make their tableware consider it's capabilities to be genuinely impressive and the fact that those capabilities are achieved with what is to them only a couple steps up from banging rocks together and finding a handy stick of roughly the desired shape is nothing short of miraculous.
