Modern all the way! I started collecting in order to make my own memories with the watches that I dreamt of wearing when I was younger. When I finally could afford those watches it gives me a sense of pride to start the legacy for my family. Rarity and scarcity are not a part of my equation. If a modern watch is made in small batches and is rare, great but I’m not concerned because it is mine. Support the independents of you want rarity. But either way you can go modern and be the guy with the story of his signature on the caseback. Vintage just feels like and old cheap watch. IMHO

love both for different occasions my vintage watches i feel like a definitely have to baby a bit but they look pretty classy so i bust them out on special occasions. Daily drivers though are modern for me

Do you prefer vintage or modern watches? Why?

Reasons why I like vintage is because luxury brands like GS, IWC, Omega, Tudor and even some Rolex are pieces that a broke nobody like me can afford. I got a vintage GS Hi-Beat and Credor (both all original) from Japan for like under ¥100,000

I have been looking at GMT superclones offered from different sites, but all from the CLEAN factory. What would be the actual difference between a $600 "best quality CLEAN" watch and what looks like the same watch offered as a $1000 "best quality CLEAN" from another site?

The guy talks about owning physical items, be it art or just an ordinary object, like committing marriage to a human. Sir, have you seen auctions? Should they all be blacklisted from brands because they want to sell what they own? The brands ultimately care about a balance of selling and buying from the same client. So sell away if you want to maintain a budget for the hobby and not sink all the money you have into this hobby. O’Leary talks like he doesn’t know what being a regular person is, and if that’s his perspective then make that known - I am rich, I judge you based on your financial circumstances and I behave like moneys no object.

Rolex stores will not juset sell to you.. you leave a name, number, and then they see if you are "worthy." I'll never understand why the working class would ever want anything to do with them. These should be how we identify people in the revolution :) let them eat cake.

I pretty much hated 80% of those watches
