Thanks for he video, fnd it shortly after asking about the build info on first video. I screenshot a 01.0 and .99 nozzle . Great fire for that size nozzle. I have double barrel but use heater block to vary oil temp for better starting. Its -20-30c here in Manitoba ( makes starting in cold shop easier and cleaner burn) But I want build yours for melting at least aluminum for starters. Approaching fall/ winter . Keep up good work ❤

The first time you slosh a little of that molten metal on that concrete floor it is going to blow it all over your legs, and you will wish to god you had on your leather pants and jacket, mask and hard hat...as your peeling off metal and skin.....but you do as you see fit.

I think you did a great job all the way around I'm sure others mention blowing up concrete floor because of slag placement so I wont I want to see many more like a possible rack system in crucible to melt alum off stuff instead of dismantling them if possible holy cow I haha didnt see the post date wow

Thanks for the info mate. I've been toying with the idea of building an aluminium smelting furnace for a while, and your "Duel fuel" setup seems to have a really good simplicity vs functionality ratio. Scrap alloy isn't particularly hard to come by here in the UK, but getting any decent sized slugs of billet to turn on my lathe IS pricey. I'm thinking that if I can build something to melt scrap alloy wheels and engine parts I could just use old food tins and coffee cans as "Sacrificial molds".

Get yourself some firebricks for a platform. If there is any moisture in your concrete floor the extreme heat could cause an explosion.

Hwy buddy. Love the video. Can the cylinder head billet yo made beused to make another cylinder head? I'm think of making my own alloy billets to make my own vw style engine from a cnc mill I have plenty of old alloy heads lying about.

What the hell, you way overheated your aluminum. It shouldnt be glowing or make any molds glow.
Suggestion would be a mold for a releasing ingot

Why dont you pre heat oil in the furnace for clean burning ?

If the clear tube after the valve were vertical you might be able to gauge the fuel flow a little easier. You might also cut down on residue if you can raise the burn pot up off the bottom of the stove so it can superheat. Setting flat on the firebrick the bottom of the pan might not be getting as hot as it could be...

It needs air compressor, but can operate with out the fan
