Hi, could you please tell me what topcase/frame have you installed? Thanks
@stefanomiglioranzi6 I've installed the Hepco & Becker Minirack, drilled some holes to it and on top of it I've installed the Shad SH44 top case. There are also other solution for top case holder but at the time of buying mine I didn't visually like any of them. The Hepco & Becker minirack is very solid made, build quality is top. The only downside might be that you have to remove the handgrips for passenger. Passenger can hold herself to Minirack but the grips are a bit too tight, or better said too close to seat itself. Ciao & enjoy your rides mate!
I've actually ridden these roads. They are absolutely fantastic and the scenery is unbelievable. Such a beautiful part of the country. And now I've literally just bought a red version of the 2024 GT. I may just have to go down to Austria to ride these roads again.
The red color version of the GSX-S is for me the best looking color for this motorbike. Unfortunately when I bought mine there was no such color option. The road between Kufstein and Bayrischzell is always a pleasure to ride!
Beautiful roads, reminds me of the glockner pass in Austria, but I have to ask where did you get your dash protector from cuz that is a matte finish and I like that.
Grossglockner pass is one of the most beautiful roads I've been riding, I'm looking forward to drive it soon this year again. I bought the dash cover protector in ebay.de. Search for the "SUZUKI GSX-S1000GT (2022-) Displayschutzfolie 2 x Entspiegelt".
@@helmtube thank you.. ride safe my friend
I absolutely love these roads. The views are unbelievable.
The guys you passed rode like dickheads, I don't like the whining noise , why did you use the clutch , I might eventually replace my brilliant 2012 Honda cbf 600 with the Suz , but she would have done just as well if not better than the new 1000 Suz
I use both clutch and QS, I have no specific rule when to use what. On some revs shifting feels smoother using the clutch and on other using QS does better job. I think each motorbike has this... Generally on higher revs QS is smoother and on lower revs clutch feels "the right" option. What do you guys think about that?
2:46 one of the worst riding skills I've ever seen smh goes to other lane, turns like a cruiser or worse and then tries to let you pass on a blind corner lmao Edit: everyone is doing that tf is wrong with those guys??
good evening bro , How many miles can you cycle on your bike without feeling tired?
I was riding for about 8-10 hours a day on this trip for 10 days in the row. I've never felt (too) tired. I have upgraded my Suzuki with few mods thou. One of the mods is handlebar riser which improved the comfort quite a lot. I would say that in general is the GSX-S 1000 GT good touring bike with a decent comfort.
lmao...those lines from the other guys...sheesh.
🤣
i love every gsx Whistle , if u reach high rpm
Man these guys on their touring bikes are terrible, completely crossing over into opposite lanes during turns.
I usually don't overtake that aggressive, but I just wanted to pass these guys not to ruin my vacation trip with seeing a nasty crash :) But who knows what was the real reason that they drove this way. Based on registration plates they came long way to ride the Alps, so they must have had some skills to reach the place...

Clunky shifting could be from the oil you run. I’ve had really smooth shifts from using oils like Motul 300V, Castrol Power 1, and Mobil 1. I find mineral and semi-synthetic oils don’t shift as smooth as full synthetic or double ester oils in various bikes I have owned.
I know that Suzuki put in semi-synthetic oil on my first service. I haven't tried Motul 300V on any of the bikes I've owned but I do believe is a great oil. I even noticed a difference when using Motul 7100 (ESTER) on one of my bikes.
@@helmtube 300V is a double ester. Used by Yoshimura Suzuki Race Team. I'm running it in my ZX9R, an older bike. Motul claims up to 2.5hp increase on top in a four-cylinder bike. I can feel it. There's a guy on CZcams with a 2014 Honda CBR1000RR who put 8500 miles on this oil and sent the used oil out for analysis. It was still good! I talked to the Motul rep and he said if you're not racing or doing track days or redlining a lot, 8500+ miles is fine. It is a higher quality oil. You get what you pay for. Basically the same as Silkolene Pro Series oil, which is used by California Superbike School. They are the most expensive oils but worth it.
Gopro is so bad in low lighting conditions.
I had a GSXS-1000, it's the same thing. But without removing the cats, sound is no change vs original. See mine here czcams.com/users/shortsh1yHhE1QTaA

Hi, I am looking for summer gloves your seems to fit right in such weather - anything to recommend ?
The one I'm wearing here are Held Fresco gloves. They are great summer gloves. I would recommend them to you if you are looking for a glove which is super comfortable and doesn't feel like wearing a thick glove.
Good video to demonstrate this bike's abilities. Thinking of adding one to to my stable. It should get along nicely with my FJR1300 and CB1100.
Suzuki is definitely sportier than both bikes you already have, but at the same time is also quite comfortable. You have a nice collection by-the-way!
Hello, what is your long-term consumption?
I have reseted consumption average counter before starting the Route des Grandes Alpes trip which was approximately 3300 km long. I was alone on the motorbike with filled panniers and top case. Trip was full of high mountain passes and at the end of the trip my average consumption was 5.1L/100Km. Of course this depends on riding style ...

This rack also has grab handles. They are not that big and comfy as original ones thou...
any info with 2 up?
Actually not bad at all. Due to the fact that I have a second motorcycle, a big-fat-comfy bmw GS which is very comfortable for pillion I was expecting that due to Suzukis rear seat size there will be just complains ... there were basically none ... I have a top case on the bike so you can also lean back but the seat ergonomic is actually quite good. Also the passenger foot pegs are quite comfy.
Hi, Nice video! What GPS app do you use?
HI there! As a device I'm using an old Iphone 6s. I run Sygic app on it. Are you familiar with it? Sometimes I also just use Google offline maps. Greetings!
@@helmtube hi! Last week i bought a 1000gt,. Sygic is compatible with the bike. I have to try It.
@@marioarmani9808 It is compatible and I like the app. I still have an old version of Sygic, the one before the subscription version. I do not like the Suzukis connectivity, it's a bit disappointing ... :( Let me know your experience. How do you like the bike?
Hey bro ! Nice ride. As an old biker, I assume that one day you'll be old too. This is a responsible ride ✌️👍
without removing the cats sound is no change vs original.
I agree with you @hagaxxx. These days a slip-on will only change how a motorbike looks and not how it sounds :)
🥱🥱🥱🥱
Crank the speakers louder :D :D
How does the yoshi exhaust got with the side panniers installed Is there enough clearance and is there any heating issues?
Hi There. The R77S was designed to be used on GSX-S1000GT with panniers. So there are no issues with heat or fitting. It fits perfectly. I have the exhaust now on my bike for about 6000km, did quite some touring with panniers on the bike and I have nothing what I could complain about.
@@helmtube that’s good to know, have heard of other exhaust manufactures pointing to close to panniers and melting the plastic

Hey there. Thank you! I wish the same to you and lots of fun with your GSX-S GT! I have an SP-connect holder and SP connect phone case. Hey dude, really thx for your time and information!! You enlightened me, may your path be bright too! Thx alot@@helmtube
looks like you have been on this road a few times.. you seem to know where you need to slow down and use caution.
I know this road very well, I've been riding it many times. It's an awesome road with few sections where it's safer to ride a bit slower.
not too wild about the ankle cam. it doesn't show much. great video. I would love to ride that road, look like an enjoyable ride. I also would like to say,,,, USE THE CLUTCH. sure the QS is nice but not for low RPMs. using the clutch will get rid of most of the 'clunky' shifts. use the QS when shifting above 3000 RPMs.
Thanks! on this footage the bike was still pretty new to me and very different from my previous bike. Now after I did few thousand Kilometers with the bike I got much better feeling for when using the clutch and when the quickshifter. I love this bike more and more.
i love the fact that you are using your phone and not the MySpin app for navigation.
I was looking forward using navigation on motorbikes TFT screen. But after some time I realized that Suzuki's implementation is very poor and not really functional. After I updated my iPhones IOS version I can't use Sygic App on motorbikes TFT screen anymore. It just keeps disconnecting. So a big disappointment here :( I hope Suzuki will release some software update soon, otherwise they should stop promoting this crap :/
yeah, I have a Samsung S22, it wont connect either. Suzuki FAILED big time with the MySpin garbage. most cars have a NAV system now days and they don't use cell phones to work. why can't motorcycles use that? @@helmtube
@@redhytech To me it just feels that every manufacturer wants earn some extra money with their own implementation of entertainment and navigation software these days. Most of them produce a crap at the end and are just a disappointment for users. Same with Suzuki ... why don't they focus on producing motorcycles, what they do very good and leave software to companies that have done that already and have tons of experience...
Is that a phone or a GPS?
It's an Iphone 6s
What is the holder you are using? @@helmtube
@@hoihoihoi1951 I bought SP connect aluminium holder and SP connect phone case. What I like about it is that also when phone is not mounted to handlebars it still looks decent. I'm using 0.5m USB cable to charge my phone and I enjoy the navigation setup from the day 1. I can unfortunately not say the same for the Suzukis MySpin app, big disappointment for me ... :(

Die Niederlande sind zwar sehr flach, aber scheinbar auch nicht sehr kurvig. Ist ja furchtbar wie viel Platz die brauchen
Haha, well, who knows ... maybe they were just tired :)
Sounds great 👍
rev when you downshift please 😖 not rev-matching is painful to hear
Shifting sound is probably a little bit saturated since the external sound recorder was placed under the seat and it picks up "metal" sounds quite loud. Using a clutch when downshifting is very smooth and you don't need to rev match on this GSX-S 1000 GT. I mostly downshift with quick-shifter so rev matching is not possible. Or? Do you rev match also when you use quick-shifter?
Your speedometer is set in miles ? , beautiful video.
Hi @martinfoltin1103 Speedometer is EU set so in Km/h. I'm I driving so slow? :D
Great video! The scenic views and winding roads are simply amazing. I love how it captures the essence of the journey through this stunning location. Thanks for sharing this incredible experience!
It really is an amazing ride, landscapes are just breathtaking. If you will ever have chance to ride Col de la Bonette with your motorcycle I can only recommend it. Cheers!
Referring to the great engine sound of this video, I bought GSX-S1000GX in Japan. I'm very much looking forward to taking delivery of my new bike. Thank you for the good video.
I'm also looking forward to test drive the GX. Did you test drive the GSX-S1000GX before buying?
@@helmtube No, I haven't test driven it. I really liked the look of the GX, so I ordered it right away. I used to ride a V-strom 1050XT, so I thought I would be able to ride a GX of similar size and bought it.
@@sorcerer-2 brave and awesome! I wish you lots of fun with your new bike and I hope you get it soon! Cheers
Nice video, nice road but above all nice bike :D Where do you mounted the camera? Helmet or chest?
I have a helmet chin mount. For me this produces the best view angle. Another benefit is "image stabilization" done by my neck :)
A truly beautiful road! You bought the GT... Did you consider the Yamaha MT-10? I'm trying to decide which one to buy, as the side cases aren't important to me. Nice video, thanks
Hi @888jackflash I was considering also Yamaha MT-10 and MT-09 Tracer. The decision to go with Suzuki was more personal than anything else. I had a Bandit 1250 years ago and I loved the bike. I thought this GSX-S 1000 GT would be maybe similar, but is actually not. It's a sports bike capable of touring. And the second was my decision maker: I was looking for a bike which I would be able to tour with, that means decent wind protection, panniers, good ergonomics and economy. The only downside for Yamaha MT-10 would probably be fuel economy, as I heard that being mentioned many times in Yamahas reviews. I like the looks of Yamaha MT-10 and the engine sound, it's a symphony :) Did you also consider Suzuki GSX-S 1000 (non GT version)? This is basically the same bike but without windscreen and panniers...
Thanks. I actually still own a 2000 Bandit1200, modified with excellent suspension, larger pistons and a Corbin seat. I've had it across the US (twice) and done Trackdays with it. I also have an FJR1300 which is my current "full Tour" bike, so I want to replace the elderly B12 and don't need panniers... so maybe the MT-10 will be the way forward for me. I came into some small funds, so I prob can afford an "SP" model.@@helmtube
@@888jackflash Then would MT-10 probably be a better choice. GSX-S 1000 GT is kind a touring bike, so if you own already FJR1300 then go with MT-10. The SP edition is even a better choice. I would suggest you Suzuki if you would be looking for one bike to do it all.
are they average riders there or you just run into a beginner's group (or id*ots, idc)
Sounds almost like stock :-( Its a shame you have to decat nowadays to make it sound properly 😞
true, changing the slip-on doesn't bring much these days. Basically it's waste of money :) My intention was to make bike sound quieter, I feels like this Yoshimura R77S sounds a bit quieter in mid revs range. Manufacturer claims it produces 93.5 dB at 5500 rpm.
Fantastic Ride.....wonderful bike ! Buty why do you rev it so high ? Doesnt you feel to have enough punch ? I would never rev up to 80km/h in the 2nd gear...or to 60 in 1st. For me thats utopic high..?
Well let me put this way. When I ride my BMW GS i almost never rev over 5 thousand rpm, the bike has all the power you need on lower revs. Suzuki GSX-S 1000 GT on the other hand has all the power on higher revs. It's a typical four cylinder bike and you have to rev it to have the usable power. You can of course drive it on lower revs, but then it's comparable to 500cc bike with 50bhp. Driving it like that ... it would make more sense to really buy a 500cc and save some money :)
czcams.com/video/MYdX-l2z-_o/video.html "How to die early"
Haha, I tried to study his "line" :)
Wow, you struck some of the most dangerous unsafe riders I'VE EVER SEEN, bunch idiots well worth keeping well away from
Thank you for sharing lovely sights, i watched your video listening roams of 999cc Suzuki and my brain was playing "On days like this -Matt Monroe's song" from Italian job movie which had a great opening scene shot at Great St bernard Passage of Italian Alps. For Dunlop, the only good thing about it is lasting longer like Battlaxs. But make sure that tyre performances are so much related with the ingredients of the asphalt. For my country it is not a good option but for some parts of europe handling may vary. Thanks again for the great video , all the best!
I replaced the Dunlops with the Avon Spirit ST after they were pretty much worn out completely (approx. 6500km). Now I have done around 5 thousand km and they are still not half way worn out. The grip is great and the handling of the motorcycle become much more "neutral" what I also like better. It's my first time with Avon and I must say I like them a lot on this bike. Which Battlaxs do you use?
What steering is that? Is it more confortable?
This is an LSL "sport" handlebar. I've replaced the original one with this one to improve comfort and handling of the bike.
Hi have any pictures of the shad top box mount on the hepco and becker rack cheers
hi @eckhogg7385 I've added a video called "Route des Grandes Alpes - Col de l'Iseran" where you can see few footages with top case.
For this Price the bike is Perfect! I want it soon and i Sell my sporster s for it! ❤
I have it now for a year and a half and I like it more and more. I've added few mods on it and it fits me even better. It's perfect all-rounder and a great sport touring bike. Did you get yours already?
Have you test ridden the GX? I myself am torn between the GT, which I test rode and absolutely loved the engine, and the tracer 9, which I liked and straight away because ergonomically felt great for me the more upright position (I'm 1'70 m tall). But the engine in the Suzuki ...❤. I am torn!
@@jardani9922 No I haven't (yet). I'm planning to test ride it this spring, once the weather gets warmer. I would like to test it just out of curiosity but I'm pretty sure I won't replace my GT with GX. I have another bike, a BMW R1200GS which coves all my "adventure" needs. And Suzuki GSX-S 1000 GT is my sportier bike which satisfies all my pleasures which GS can't provide:) If I would have to have one bike only I would definitely be considering GSX-S 1000 GX since it's more sport-touring-adventure bike. Are there more bikes on the list you are considering? Cheers mate!
@@helmtube I have narrowed it down to those 2. But I am leaning a bit towards the Suzuki. I want to tour this summer on my old Yamaha FZ6, and after that farewell and trade her for one of these. I have enjoyed my FZ6 plenty, but as far as I know only one life, and want best of the best. BTW for my dirt needs I count on a small Husqvarna 150 tpi. I'm a junkie for the smell of a 2 stroke
My friend, I have the Bandit1250S and i am interested in this GT or the new GX bike. The Bandit had fantastic torgue in low revs, how does the GT feel in low revs? Do you have the need to ride it in high rpms to get the feeling of the Bandit? In general do you miss something from the bandit and what do you like from GT that you didn't like in the Bandit. What is your average consumption? With the bandit i was getting about 265Km in every tank. Thank you in advance for your reply :) Wonderful video! so rellaxing
@gerokatseros If you like the torque of the bandit you may miss that on GT. Even thou both bikes have almost same amount of torque there is a huge difference how these two engines perform. GT feels on low revs just fine, but is far away from how bandit performs on low revs. On GT fun starts from 6k rpm and on. If you enjoy cruising with your bandit in 6th at 100km/h and enjoy low rpms bandit can do that, you will miss 7th or 8th gear on GT. :) 6th gear, 100km/h on GT would rev around 4500 rpm where motorbike starts to become louder. Overtaking on shorter straights with GT means downshifting to second or first gear. My average fuel consumption on GT, according to bikes computer is after 10k km 5.2l/100km. Max I was able to squeeze out of one full tank was 340km thou. The only thing I miss from my Bandit is the torque on low revs. GT is a great sport touring bike and it is very agile, while riding it it feels it weights nothing :) If you want to make it more comfortable there are already quite few after market items available. In my case I installed handlebar risers, seat gel pads, Yoshimura R77S slip on (a bit quieter sound) and changed tires. I assume GX will be a more comfortable version of GT.
@@helmtube You have been more than helpfull! thank you very much sir !!! I have this bandit for 12 years now and find it too hard to replace it with another bike yet because every other bike that i rode made me miss something from bandit , something that i really enjoyed and gave me a smile. Thanks again! Your average 5.2 seems super! mine is close to 7l/100Km :)
@@gerokatseros I had same situation when I was replacing my Bandit. Good alternative for me was BMW R1200RS. Give it a try if you find one somewhere (or maybe the newer R1250RS model). I was never into BMWs but after a test ride I changed my mind ...
