"Heroes" my ass. The 1970s, 1960s, and 1950s were all "heroes" decades, as well as the 1980s and 1990s.

I regret not getting into formula 1 earlier. This man can do anything. Any sport I know of. So long it's something physical, he can do it. He can drive anything with an engine, too. He's The Athlete. He is underrated within the business side of F1 (because of how he's so focused on just the building and the racing), but I do believe he's one of the most loved driver in F1 2nd or 3rd to Michael and Senna. Everyone can't help but be a fan of this genuine athlete. And he's STILL within the top 10 of Drivers with Points. I like to think he's not unlucky, or that fate intended for him to have the least luck because of how great he can be to keep some semblance of balance. The rest of the grid were the lucky ones, if he had the same luck as the others, he would've won every year. And if we're not talking about luck, I like to think he's just TOO FAST as a driver that all the cars he's given just can't keep up with him. I can't help but have these what-ifs if he did have the car meant for him, or if he had been the first signed driver for Redbull. He could've tone his driving down a bit, but it just wouldn't feel right for him. He wanted to race and race he did. He just let himself merely be and again the others were simply lucky that he did. Lastly, those teams and higher-ups that fucked him over? They're certainly finding out until now :) He is still the last Ferrari champion that won them a constructor championship, too.

Started watching F1 with my dad probably as a toddler, but the first season I remember is 1984. I supported Prost as a child, but when Schumacher joined the grid in 1991 I immediately became a fan from his first day in F1 until his last. I'm too old to do any hero worshiping nowadays, so even though I'm a big fan of Max Schumi will always be my hero. I have watched the sport for over 40 years now, read many books about every era of F1 and watched many documentaries. With all of that, I have to say that the Greatest of all Time for me is and will always be Fangio. The best of all time I'm inclined to say now is Max with the things he's doing these days, but my Favorite driver will always be Schumacher. There's just something watching the sport as a teenager that hits differently from any other time in your life! #ForzaSchumi #KeepFightingChamp

In Russia (and some other states of ex-USSR) the name "Schumacher" is using as a synonym for "crazy driver" and even sometimes just for "driver". No one F1 racer was so popular in our country. We say "Formula-1 " and mean "Michael Schumacher".

Thank you for this. My dad and I cried a lot watching it. Ayrton Senna had ears , bottom, eagle eyes,and he used them all to know his car and feel the racing track. When he sat at the cockpit he always prayed to God and then he had no fear. He did things that no other driver will do. He set the bar very high and will be forever the GOAT.

The 80s were wild in every category of motorsport. Mad respect for everyone who raced in this era. Great times

Michael was special. Love him or hate him, his only focus was winning. Controversial, perhaps. With the current form of F1, will his records be surpassed, of course, but he will always be the GOAT!

I dont often comment negatively at what is a great effort... However the Author is clearly a Senna Fan boy so purposely leaves out the truly best Brazillian ever. Piquet was a better person, more fun more intelligent and in many's opinion a better driver than the deceitful always moaning and cheating Senna... 21/03/1960 is not celebrated and 01/05/1994 is not mourned by all
