I had mine for 16 years used it once 3 years ago, went to fire it up and hydraulic fluid flowed from the piston fluid cup. Happen in seconds. I didn't even get it fully started. Put electric motor on, and it gushed out. Any idea? Thanks.

@@mattlord2906 yes, the lower seal in the hydraulic motor (where the leak is) has been damaged. This usually happens when the engine or the motor is turned off without turning the hydraulics off first. The piston over shoots the seal and the lower seal is damaged. The full hydraulic motor needs to be pulled apart to replace that seal.

@Brian_the_repair_guy ok, but I didn't get power to it initially. I pulled the start cord and rotated the crank of the engine. Are the parts available in a kit so I can just replace everything in the fluid/ manifold section. I have turned on many with that valve open for business, and this would be the first blowout. I was worried that not having a paint hose attached , but it happened the moment it cycled. Pressure was all the way down, and the prime value was open. I wonder if they sell a complete rebuild kit. If they do, is it the newer titan 6900? Or are they more specific than that. This pump was never really used. It still looks brand new. I used it 3 years ago because someone stole my other pump , so I finally got paint on it. I was about to sell it for lack of use and need the space.

    • @Brian_the_repair_guy

@@mattlord2906 when these machines are turned on the pressures are unregulated. When that hydraulic valve is open, the piston strokes as soon as the motor or engine turns. Because it is unregulated at the start, it will over stroke up sometimes. You can get just that lower sea, but i do not recommend an unexperienced person try and replace it. This is a difficult process and even an experienced mechanic can have problems.

I heard makita brick when they detect voltage issues but I've never had a bad one, even the 7+ year old 1.3ah that I've run till cut off many times but never charged hot or cold. Very good batteries.

@@robertappleby6683 I can't speak for others, but these batteries were 2 and 3 years old. Never been used. As you see from the video, the charger did not detect enough voltage to charge. As I said in the video, I do not recommend this. Lithium is good, but still a bit dangerous.

Hi Brian.. Love your tips and detailed insight. I've got 3 Graco sprayers. 30y 390 - 495 and 695 and fix them myself. The 695 was bought used. Got it for a good price as it was totally drenched in paint, the top layer was a red color, oil based paint after it was used to paint a barn I think. There where hardly a spot of metal or blue to be seen on the machine housing or hose. Took a big brush and covered everything with gel paintstripper, the hose, wheels, everything. Was careful not to leave it on the machinehouse for too long and eat into the Graco factory paint. Toothbrush and scrapers etc.. Took it to the guy who sold it to me a few days later. He stood there gasping, it looked brand new. New seals and packings. Seeing some of the machines you work on, I wonder what the hell these people are doing. They have 15m of hose but It looks like the sprayer is 2m away from the substrate they Spray Mist from 1m away? I don't know ;-) I mean If you know it will be messy. I'll put some WD40 on and wipe it off afterwards, I cover the machine housing and move it further away. And I clean up when I'm finished 🙂

@@nodeal7337 thanks for watching. After 32 years of preparing this equipment, I have stopped asking how guys get their equipment get to such a state. There are a number of things you can do to prevent this as you pointed out. It never seems to set in the minds of many of the painters. I explain how it benefits them to keep their equipment clean and they make their choices from there The purchase of a sprayer seems pricey at time of purchase but the money you can make quickly clouds that cost in their minds. Thanks again for watching

Im having the same problem on a 1095. I’ve tried replacing just the cap but still leaks when the pump starts to build pressure. Any other things i could try other than replacing the whole filter housing ?
