Snowmass Terrain Park is the Sickest

The Snowmass Park is so sick right now with great features for progression and sending hard. Right now the parks include Lowdown for beginner features, Makaha for medium jumps, rails and boxes, and Bonsai for the big boy stuff. The 14ft mini pipe is one of the best features in the park which has been recently shaped perfectly. What other terrain parks are you hyped on right now? Filmed by Josep...

Day One on the Capita Aeronaut Snowboard
My first board was from a play again sports. Its a fleetwood board, i still have it(so fkn heavy). Used to hit all the ramps at my local trick park with it for a few years. Eventually saved up and got myself a brand new GNU board. Was so stoked i strapped it on and full sent it off my favorite jump, got twice as much air as usual and over rotated. Landed face first on an ice patch, lost a tooth and got a concussion. Ahh memories.
You said it right, there isn't the best board company, but damn these companies do a lot of boards which make choosing sooooooooooo hard 🤣
these could be great for snow kiting!
Whats the point of having a soft setup in freestyle? I got a stiff setup with atlas binding and i liked it. Then i got a softer board with stratas cause everybody is saying softer is better in the park. After 2 Years i can say, you loose so much precision and charge ability for a little bit more freedom in movement. I definitely go back to a stiffer board with my loved atlas bindings. Might i have to try the stiffest version to find out the downsides in the park. But the stuff is not cheap.
I’m a goofy rider and I’ve always gone positive front side and 0 backside but as I’ve gotten more advance I find it hard to carve my toe side, what angle do you recommend me using
Where is your jacket and pants from?
if you wrote those boards off as a business expense you're a legend
I have never seen you ride bataleon in your videos. You are one of my favourite snowboarding youtubers so i would love to know your take on the 3bt. Pls make a video on that. Thank you.
I have forum Youngblood hybrid chili dog thing and board floats and pops around like nothing I've ever touched. I miss forum love em. 4square, special blend, jeenyus, ride, snowboarding brands fkn sk man
nice my first time taking my nephew out we started skinning up from the carpark on trail for a few hundred meters before going off piste SKI PATROL kicked us off FELT BAD FOR NEPHEW if was alone would have been on with the ski PATROL in AUSTRALIA given I have done ski school in whistler and mt hutt nz and kicking horse and treble cone SKI PATROL kicked us off and said no uphill on designated area we where to the side cat track skinning is a great winter workout
Great info especially for new riders workig on their carving
Yo. That’s my board. Fuckin love that thing
so they just copied spark… fukk burton!
Thanks for sharing. Nice to see splitboards tested in variable conditions. That's often when I would use mine. Like you, if there is powder to be had at the resort, I'm opting for that and being able to get laps in. If the outrun wasn't able to be skated, keep in mind that you can ski-skate back without skins on.
What is this board focused on? All mountain, powder, or park? Or is it a shifted to two? If so what is this mostly used for?
2:51 that 3 was fkg sick man!
Would you choose a 156 or 159? Since you are only 150lbs I would assume 156 best fits your status. But on the review you seems to be really enjoying the 159. Does that means the board shines better at a longer length?
Ride makes the best snowboards guys
1:27 😨 breh.. hahahn And 1:40 🤤steeeze! My favorite trick and you nailed it.. as good and steezy as Scott Stevens. Hey, how loose (in a good way) is it? I'm a big fan of the Ultrafear Reverse, because it's amazingly loose for spins on flat (Like this: czcams.com/video/GmU1LsTylKs/video.html&ab at 0:59 mark) and (IMO) it can also carve when I want to go fast. But was thinking about getting a SB Resort due to so many good reviews despite now being the biggest fan of positive camber. I can make it work well, but pos camber boards don't spin as good as flat ones like Ultrafear Rev... So I am afraid of being too "hooky" for flat ground spins though. So I am between this one, the good ol' Ultrafear Rev, and the Rome Party Mod (which is also flat and has very good reviews).
How hard it will be for someone never snowboarding before and want to have a premium board like this?
Difficult, this is an aggressive board that is not recommended for beginner snowboarders. It would make snowboarding harder to learn and not as fun as it should be
Can’t wait to never ride that overpriced pos
Which binding would you pair with the shadowban?
The Force would be rad
Shane, what is the best powder board for Japow and Colorado Utah pow. I'm 5’9” 185, size 12 and ride a Yes Standard and Greats as my daily’s. I also own the Aeronaut, Megadeath. Also, whats your Patreon?
Thanks for the support Will, don't have a Patreon as of now. Trying to decide if that is something everyone would be interested in for this upcoming season. Hard to say what the 'best' pow board would be because there are so many sick options out there. I've obviously really been loving the Mega Detah for Colorado and Japan Pow but a few other awesome options are the Burton Hometown Hero, Capita Navigator, Jones Flagship, Lib Tech Orca just to name a few
Thanks Shane. You Rock.
That's my uncle that's my uncle
you lost me when you said effective edge shouldn't be a determining factor on what board to buy.. effective edge is one of the most important aspects of a board and how it rides
Hey would a 155 be okay with a 9.5 boot? Or should I go to 157? I’m planning on running a -6, 15 or -3, 18.
which board size you choose? Do you think the 153cm (24.7 waist) would fit someone with US 7.5mens, 140lbs, 5.8 tall?
neither the original is still what i use VOILE!!!!
Are classic lace up boots (not speed laces) fine?
I weigh 180-185, intermediate size 12. What size Mega Death would you recommend? Could it work well in Japow? Thanks!
I think you'd be ripping on the 157W, and yes it rips in Japan!
I grew up riding Tahoe, mostly Squaw, got a job there straight out of high school working P-lot so I had maximum ride time. And, I can say without a doubt, in the 90s anyways, Burton was the best hands down. You got on Burton and off whatever else you were on, and the Burton, in one run had you literally 10x the rider you were a run prior on something else. No exaggeration there. I rode my last seasons on a Custom before I moved to Hawaii and basically stopped snowboarding…I also blew out my ACL snowboarding, which is why I sorta moved on to warmer places. Long story short, I decided to go on a snowboard trip for the first time in decades and am playing catch up on gear and tech advancement. A buddy I surf with here is a pioneer of snowboarding who was Sims’ VP in the 80s, responsible for writing Craig Kelly’s first contract. His grandson is a sponsored grom in Alaska and tells me the tech has caught up and Burton isn’t really the leader anymore. For an old school guy like me, it was hard to believe, but he convinced me to buy an Orca, even though the LibTech I had growing up was a complete dud and held back my progress. I’m hoping the tech has indeed caught up and all the boards are similar with regard to their performance levels. My OG 90s custom, last time I rode it was still awesome. I’m hoping the Orca gives me a new perspective, but doesn’t hold me back any. I want to bring one more board, and I’ve been looking at that Aeronaut thinking maybe it’s the best of both worlds, and has that Custom feel I was always accustomed to, but adds in some of the tech I have yet to experience myself. But it’s hard teaching an old dog new tricks, and so I’m torn between buying the Aeronaut and a new Custom X. It’s just so hard for me to believe that Burton isn’t the best anymore.
I grew up riding Burton Customs in Tahoe in the late 90s, been surfing the last 25 years in Hawaii, but planning some snowboarding trips trying to catch up with all the tech. Last time I rode my late OG 90s custom it went rad and I still beat everyone down the mountain. All I know is cambers I suppose. I see Capita makes this board in a 156W and my 90s Custom is a 156. I’m 5’11 165lbs, size 10 vans boots. You think since this board is, “narrower than normal”, going a 156 wide over the 157 is the way to go? I looked at the specs the side cut radius are the exact same. The nose and tail are like 6 to 8mm wider, and the waist width is 7mm wider. Is the Aeronaut 7mm narrow than a, “normal”, board? I don’t know anything about specs. I just charged the Custom all my life as my board of choice growing up. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ Also, is Burton dead? When I was a kid it was heads and shoulders over everything else. I got an Orca based on a recommendation, but would like to have a new two board quiver for my trip. I’m an old school “jacket flapper”, resort rider who likes pow and side kicks. Thanks for your thoughts.🙏🤙✌️
Any opinions on Salomon? Looking to get Salomon Sight as my first board. Thanks
Steeeezee!
Setback camber are used in volume shifted boards usally?
Such an underrated rider…

One of my top runs ever
Thanks again for a great season of reviews/ presentations. How would you compare Capita megadeath with Jones stratos? I don’t do park, but mostly powder/trees/groomer. If you can compare the dampness on uneven terrain / float in powder/ carving experiences for both boards. I always hear that capita is geared towards park thus the hesitation and leaning towards Jones Stratos. I would appreciate your recommendation. Thank you.
In the past, Capita was oriented towards park riding, but that has changed and the Megadeath is the last board I would bring in the park. The Megadeath is going to have to nose that will help float better in powder as the Stratos has a shorter rocker section in the nose. They both carve and hold a great strong edge, but the biggest difference is how much lighter the Megadeath is than the Stratos
Thank you for this comparison. This helps me better understand the difference. Have a blessed summer!
I rode 159 Jones stratos. I am 5’7”. weigh 170 lbs. What size mega death snowboard would you recommend? I used to ride 156 stratos. It was right for me but chattery thus upgraded to 159. What size megadeath would you recommend? 159 or 156? Thank you
Great video! Was looking forward buying one of these. Would you recommend 158 or 160? Im 220lb with 11 size boots. Thinking if 160 is too long.
How tall are you? It's not that stiff of a board so you might want the 160
@@SearchofSnowboarding Im 6.2 wanted a nible but stable board, thanks!
Bro could you help me pleasee, I want to buy this board, Iam a normal rider ( not noobie, not professional, I ride in fields) Wich version do you recommend me? The camber one or the flying V? Please and also Iam looking to use ir with genesis step on bindings and burton sweath boots what do you think about that kit? Thanks
The boots and bindings will be great. If you want an easier, more forgiving ride go Flying V, if you want a board with more snap, action and more stability at speed go with the camber
@@SearchofSnowboardingthank you so much bro. One last question, Actually iam riding a 2012 burton flat top board. I think its too old and I wanted to get a new one. I want to star practicing butter tricks in my country sometimes there is good snow but other times hard snow. What you will recomend me ? To stay with a flat top one? Or to get a flying V? ( for butter tricks and the conditions that I mentioned) please
Hello. Thanks for all the knowledge sharing and presentations. How would you compare capita mega death and jones Stratos? I don’t do park. I used to ride 2020 Stratos, but sold it recently. Thus I am contemplating between the above 2 boards. thank you.
Trying to plan a trip with about 10 guys and would love any advice for the planning process??
Sounds like that will be a blast. With such a big group I would first look at finding your lodging, whether that's a whole air bnb house or whatever, then plan where you'll be shredding around that
@@SearchofSnowboarding TY
U still rocking this bad boy?
Hell yeah, one of my favorite boards. I'll be dropping more videos with the 2025 model this Fall
you're gonna have to do an update to this video. Never Summer has a Triple Camber profile. Best profile out there.
Will this pair well with the Capita DOA? Or would you go strata?
You could go with either, I prefer the Force myself
I got a Love for sale 158….. I live in SW FL my shredding days are over sooooooo just saying.
Between mega mercury and mega death, which you would choose and why ?
Depends on the day and how I want to be riding. Mega merc for more freestyle like riding and harder charging and Megadeath for all else for me
I guess I missed this because I've been living in Miami for too long. My first board was a Forum. I miss snow so much. Beaches suck.
I want to tackle jibbing and freestyle riding. just bought a Signal Omni Arata. Got a recommendation?
