- Had the opportunity to get on the 2024 Capita Aeronaut Snowboard and the newly updated Union Forces to give you a sneak peek. Arthur Longo's new Capita pro model snowboard is a very rideable, fun, resort ripper that pairs perfectly with the new Union Force bindings.

Awesome riding, filming and editing! Taking snowboard reviews to the next level 🤙
Much appreciated!
It's nice to see a reviewer with pop and power in their legs! There's so many dusty old groundhogs calling this board stiff in their reviews...
Yeah I was surprised to see others calling this board stiff
goes to show each review must be taken with perspective to the rider one reviewer said the mega merc is more stiff then my free thinker and i think the opposite when flexing them also said the aeronaut is the most stiff out of the three but most other reviews say its pretty playful@@SearchofSnowboarding
LoL. Thanks for the laugh. That's funny right there! I'm probably one of those dusty old groundhogs at 54, but I'm not a reviewer and I don't think the Aeronaut is stiff tip to tail. Feels very stiff torsionally to me though - only 1 day on it so far. I can't twist the board with my feet much or ankle steer at all. Only feel this when you slow down or are getting off the lift though. I notice I have to use my legs more to get it to do what I want/absorb how lively it is in choppy stuff. Basically squat lower with my knees bent more than usual and push into it pretty hard. Not a huge deal. That's the reason I don't skip leg day. Really glad I got one even though some of those other groundhogs had me nervous in their reviews. I rode on very stiff fully cambered boards like this in the 90's but was much younger. I will say what you put into this board it gives back 3x. Loads of pop, very quick edge to edge, likes to charge hard, blasts through crud and holds an edge amazing. Not much of a jib board. Really made for someone who is gonna hold the throttle wide freaking open and has strong legs or like me wants to get their legs stronger. Interestingly I track my days with the slopes app and always check out my top speeds. Usually I'm somewhere around 44-46mph, but my first day on the Aeronaut hit 54mph! I have never broke anything over 50 since tracking with the app. Guess I like it. Paired it with Union Force bindings and agree they are the hot setup for this deck. Excited to get back on it next week in Vermont. Cheers!
Mate you a a seriously good snowboarder 👌🏻 thanks for the review of the force. I’m looking at purchasing some new bindings
Yeah I enjoyed them, I also just released this video on the Force with much more detail about them czcams.com/video/dH0P-yZSSNM/video.html
Miss Snowmass, need to make it out there again. Thanks for review, nice riding.
Favorite park for sure at Snowmass, thanks homie
That outfit of yours is so fire!
Thanks dawgie!
Love your videos man! Question for you: I’ve been riding the Kazu for the last few seasons & just damaged the base so it’s time to move onto the next. I’m not sure if I should go Kazu again or try out the Aeronaut which has similar specs.
I’m an advanced rider - Mostly East Coast with 10-20 days on the west coast/alps. Occasional powder days when available but mostly ripping groomers & glades. No park for me but love natural features. Any suggestions & notable differences between the two boards?
I’m 100% buying this
It's a fun one for sure!
Wow Super channel and super rider!
Thank you very much!
Such an underrated rider…
🤙🙏🏻
This board seems like a fun allround ripper, you make it look so good too :) What brand are the jacket/pants you use in this video?
Thanks dude! They're the Nomad Jacket and Bibs from Strafe Outerwear. You can use code SANDWICH15 for 15% anytime
Great Review! Looking at the Aeronaut as an upgrade from the DOA. Im 66kg, 170cm and size 10US - Considering the 153 as im right in the middle of the suggested rider weight and I prefer a more nimble lighter feeling board to ride through trees, side hits and not really into straight line bombing. Only thing im worried about is heel drag when carving aggressively. Do you think 153 is ok or would you size up to 155?
Yeah the 153 is going to be way too narrow, and honestly the 155 might give you some toe an/or heel drag. You might be better off with a different board all together honestly
Bought a 161!!!
Hell yeah!
Great review man. Riding more big mountain terrain with this, would you stick with the 57 if Im riding the Kazu in the same size? Or go up to 59? Appreciate it
You could really do either. The Kazu is more aggressive, so if you want the Aeronaut to ride more aggressively you could size up to the 159
On paper looks similar to the old Capita Supernova, any thoughts? Great vid👌🏽
Thanks! I'm unfamiliar with the Supernova
Really nice review! Do you have plans to ride the Ride shadowban?
Thanks, man! I got on the shadowban a little last year. I think it's one of Rid'e more fun boards. The Aeronaut and Shadowban will be meant for the small kind of riding, with the Aeronaut being narrower and therefore quicker edge to edge
If I already have a capita kazu pro, would it be redundant to get one of these next season? That kazu is a great aggressive board but I want something a little more relaxed for end or day or slushy snow. I love the narrow width on the kazu so this one seems appealing
I think you would really like this board then. It was pretty different from the Kazu so it would be fun to have both. The Aeronaut is going to be narrower, softer, have taper, and a tighter sidecut than the Kazu so it will be a little more fun to turn and carve with
Bought a new capita mercury last season, might have to buy another new board shittt lol
Keep adding to that quiver!
I pre orderd a mercery for next season but I'm super interested about this board and thinking about changing my order. I really just want a quiver killer that i can have fun in any conditions pow and resort. Should i stick to the mercury or get the aeronaut?
Both are awesome quiver killers. If you want to be riding more aggressively more often go with the Mercury if you want to be a little more chill and laidback go with the Aeronaut. Also what size boot do you have? If you're US 11 and up (maybe even 10.5) the Aeronaut may be too narrow for you
@@SearchofSnowboarding Thanks for the reply I'm size 10 US. I'm still so torn but I think I'm going to call up the shop and go with the aeronaut. I started surfing before snowboarding so I think it will better suit my style.
@@reetabass1540 I rode a mercury last season and that board rips got plenty of pop and will truly ride in any type of snow. I'm a Longo fan so I had to get his board this year it looks like a blast! all I know is that mercury is my first capita board and I am sold on the brand.. it is quality durable and rides exactly the way they describe on the website and in the reviews.
@@Jmanji12 I ended up just sticking with the mercury and i loved it used in in AUS snow season cant wait for the US season! capita 4 life
Hi there, great review!! for 9US / 176cm / 76kg, do you think the 157 would be ok? Thanks!!
Yeah absolutely, 157 would be perfect. We have them available now at: www.radioboardshop.com/capita-aeronaut-by-al-24.html
which board size you choose? Do you think the 153cm (24.7 waist) would fit someone with US 7.5mens, 140lbs, 5.8 tall?
Hey,
Awesome video!
Wondering if I could get your advice please?
I'm 5'11", with boots size ranging from 11.5 - 12 ( depending on the brand) .... currently I have a pair of Burtons 11.5 size - measuring 32.3cm from heel to toe.
I currently weigh 209lbs.
The Aeronaut doesn't have any wide boards, so wondering which size that might suit me?
Tks heaps
😊
You'd only want the 161, but you might have a better time on a wider board in a different model
The 2025 Aeronaut will come in 156w, 158w, 160w, 162w - white top and red base. Just wait for next season ;-)
Great video. Is this softer than the mercury?
Yes, definitely softer than the Mercury
@@SearchofSnowboarding thanks!
Have you tried the Capita kazu pro? I'm looking at this board to be a somewhat more relaxed compliment my kazu pro.
I haven't ridden, but I've checked it out a bunch. This would be a great compliment and actually a little more fun to turn as it has some taper and a tighter sidecut than the Kazu.
I ended up pulling the trigger on this board. My kazu is a 153 and is less directional / powder oriented than I initially thought. I got the aeronaut in a 155 and I think I'll buy into the setback stance and use it as a pow / cruising board.
This is the best review on the board btw!
Would you say this is closer to the jones mountain twin, the aviator 2.0 or the flagship
Thanks
It's kind of different from all of those. Think fun directional narrow shape that is great for freestyle inspired freeriding
How could the Aeronaut compliment a quiver where you may already have a BSOD and Mega merc?
Great question! I now have all three, and the Aeronaut will be my more playful board (compared to the others) and much quicker edge to edge. So it will probably be the board I grab for some groomer days, tight tree runs, or when I want to ride a little more relaxed
Great video. Also:
#bringbacktwinshapes lol
Haha, eh there's plenty of great twins out there all ready
Yeooo sup brother! Been riding the DOA for three seasons thanks to your advice and love it. wanted to try something else. Mostly riding groomers, pow and the trees. Is this the move? Weight 195, 5’10”, and size 9 boots. Should I go 157?
Yeah I think you'll love this board for what you're looking to ride. 157 would be a great size, but you could do 159 also
Appreciate you getting back to me. I think 159 is the move. Keep rocking with the channel bro. great content @@SearchofSnowboarding
Hell yeah, we've got them in stock in actually www.radioboardshop.com/capita-aeronaut-by-al-24.html?id=98401959&quantity=1@@DiegoHenaoV
vs the Mercury for a 1 board quiver? No park, rare switch, really all mountain, but want a fun board that's easy edge to edge, turning, covers all my bases and just a blast to ride. 160lbs, intermediate, 9.5 boot, ride out west only
For what you want, go with the Aeronaut. It will be a more fun and easier ride for you. If your about 5'10 you can go 157, or 159 if you're a little taller than that
@@SearchofSnowboarding 5’10 160lbs no gear., 9.5 boot size. It still gonna be somewhat forgiving coming from riding Never Summer for several years? Thanks!
Yeah should be no problem, might need a little getting used to camber, but will be better than stepping up to the mercury. 157 will be great, we have some in stock now www.radioboardshop.com/capita-aeronaut-by-al-24.html@@Calisnr
@@SearchofSnowboarding cool, heard the mercury is great, but a bit squirrely at slow speeds. Aeronaut is narrower, might reduce that?
you prefer this or Burton hometown hero can't decide which one I want this year?
Both are very sick all mountain rides. You need to decide if you want a wider super turny board (Hometown), or a narrower super quick edge to edge board (Aeronaut)
Bro, what goggles are you wearing in this one? Been looking for that one cannot find it anywhere!
The Kazu Oakley Pro Models from a few seasons ago, one of my favorite pairs
Hello, do you think that board is ok for a good intermediate/low advanced level? I have 5 years experience now (but just 5days/years). I’m searching my first board (always rental until now). This year I've mostly been freeriding but i would like to progress in all areas. Love snowboard. 183cm, 207 lbs but I would like to reach 190-195lbs. Is it ok with 159? Size boots 10,5.
Yeah that board will be great for your ability level. The 159 should be good for you, although you might feel it's slightly narrow
What's the torsional flex like on this? All the specs seem to imply that this thing could handle steep tight trees just fine - what do you think?
Has a great torsional flex, but I think the narrower width will help more in terms of riding tighter trees
Hey would a 155 be okay with a 9.5 boot? Or should I go to 157?
I’m planning on running a -6, 15 or -3, 18.
It would be ok with the 155, but it might feel better on the 157
@@SearchofSnowboarding thanks I actually ended up going with the 157. I already ride a 156 DOA so figured I’d just choose the barely larger size to use for my more all mountain directional board, since I’m expecting to ride more aggressively on it anyway. I appreciate the response!
can't really decide between this and Burton custom camber... riding groomers, pow, but love side hits and all kind of jumps, but not really in park - maybe like 2% of time... can u give some advice ? also im 175cm /70 kg /41 EUR feet. so for Burton it is 154 for sure. not really sure if 155 or 157 aeronaut. Thank you
You could do either the 155 or 157 for the Aeronaut, but 155 would be best for your height. It's a tough choice because both boards will be great for what you're looking to do. The biggest difference will be that the Aeronaut is more narrow so it will be quicker edge to edge. The Aeronaut is also more directional than the Custom and has a little bit of taper so it will turn better going forward, where the Custom will be a little better riding switch. The Custom is, and has always been, great but I think the Aeronaut is a little bit more fun and exciting of a ride compared to the classic directional twin that the Custom has always been.
@@SearchofSnowboarding ❤thank u for your answer. still got time to decide. narrow board won't be a problem with my 41 tiny feet :) .. not really a switch rider.. only when landing some 180s etc, still 9o-95% going regular.really a tough choice :D only good thing it is a win win choice the aeronaut vs custom :)
Which one would be least aggressive Kazu Pro, BSOD or Aeronaut? I'd like to buy my first capita directional freeridish snowboard but I don't want it to be a workout for me. Thanks ✌🏽
Aeronaut will be the least aggressive
@@SearchofSnowboarding Thank you mate ✌🏽
How do the new force compare to the classic?
Similar, but better in a few aspects. Like more comfortable straps and a better bushing system in the base. I’ll be dropping a comparison video on that in the fall
do you think I would boot out with the 161 with a size 13 with low boot profile? I like to carve hard but not to the extreme level. btw i ride +18/-6
Yeah I think you might find some frustration with toe hang
Wide versions out now for 2025.
What size bindings you riding? :)
Medium in a size 9 boot
Hi what size would you recommmend for 170-175lb and 5' 10 athletic? coming from a 151 Warpig? i was thinking 157?
You could do 157 or 159. You might find a little more stability with the 159 though. We've got both available here: www.radioboardshop.com/capita-aeronaut-by-al-24.html?id=98401959&quantity=1
@@SearchofSnowboarding just ordered the 157 this morning, as im from Europe i cant order from your link tho. Hoping the 157 will be fine, especially after being on volume shifted designs for the past 4 years i dont want a board thats immediately too big
What size did you ride this board in?
157 for this guy
Aeronaut or mega merc for resort | pow?
I've gotten a lot of pow days on the Mega Merc and loved it. I only got a few pow runs on the aeronaut the other day. It's more about how you'll be riding, for cruising and messing around in pow I'd say Aeronaut. For charging hard in powder, Mega Merc
Hi i'm 8.5us, 65kg and 172cm what size do u reccomend??? 153 or 155?
You'll be hyped with the 155
would the ultra or the atlas be a good binding for the aeronaut?
You could do either depending on the ride you want. I really think the Force is the perfect combo with that board though
thanks for your input. ill check out your website!@@SearchofSnowboarding
What’s the waist width on this thing?
253mm on the 157
Is this comparable to libtechs dynamo?
Somewhat. It has a similar shape and meant for the same terrain, but if you rode them back to back they might feel a little different. I liked this more than the few times I rode the Dynamo
@@SearchofSnowboarding thank you for the insight. I would love to give it a try however I wear a 11.5 size boot which is at the very limits of the dynamo. I see the aero has a 250mm width which would not work. I try and stay away from wide boards as I can appreciate the agility of the narrower ones.
@@mcgink Yeah this board definitely runs narrow
hello there, with US 8,5 5'9/175cm and 160 lbs weight.. 155/157? resort riding, side hits, Ollies, carving, pow.. no park.
155 and you'll be set!
@@SearchofSnowboarding Thank u sir 👍 keep the great work ♥️ love it
With size 8, 178cm height. Think I'm better off with the 157? Or the 155?
Probably 155, how much do you weigh?
Hi,
Around 70kg ish :)
@@SirCamma You could honestly do either. 157 if you want a little more stability at speed, 155 if you want a little more nimble of a board. I'm your weight and 182cm and the 157 was perfect for me
This guy rips
Why thank you

It's a setup that I had an awesome time on and I foresee a lot of people will also next season, that's all. I think that shows plainly in the video
