2007 Chrysler Pacifica front end clunk. Sway bar ends?
Checking out a rattle / clunk in the front of my Pacifica when driving on uneven surfaces. (Bumps etc.) Thought it might be a CV or inner tie rod end but NOPE, sway bar ends fixed the issue. Heres how I replaced them.

White out for metal cutting???
zhlédnutí 114Před 5 měsíci
Testing the ability of white out and heat for cutting metal. I had great results! Creating this short video I had heated this thing up about four times and still had a nice white line to follow if I was actually cutting it even red hot it was still easy to see that line. Obviously, having a more permanent line than soapstone has its pluses and minuses, but for most of the things I use it for it...

    What are the parts needed to swap an 05 Escalade lq9 motor into an 06 Silverado 2500 that has an lq4?

    • @littletincans
      @littletincans Před 24 dny

      The way I understand it, the LQ4 and LQ9 are basically the same engine as far as the outside goes. Should be a direct swap with maybe a few parts needing to be used from the LQ4 for fitment. You will most likely need to get a tune though. You may even get by without that. One note. If you have the active fuel management on the engine that you’re putting in, I would suggest you get the kit or check out some videos on how to delete that. You may also have to do something in the tune afterwards.

    I can't get my jegs sand blaster to pick up the sand. How did you get it to work?

    • @littletincans
      @littletincans Před 4 měsíci

      There are a couple of things that I noticed on mine. First, they like to have a pretty high pressure on the pump for your pressure washer. If you have one that is a 2000 psi or below it may not work as well. I keep my sand, elevated a little bit. Maybe stick it on another 5 gallon bucket and then I stick the sand into a 5 gallon bucket. Or I put my sand into a wheelbarrow in the bag and then just open the bag and put the suction tube in. The other thing I noticed is that you need to make sure that the hose that draws the sand stays above the nozzle it comes out of. What kind of sand are you using? I noticed that play sand doesn’t work very well.

    • @littletincans
      @littletincans Před 4 měsíci

      That’s a great question. After a little research, it would appear that you can get aftermarket rotors with a six hole pattern that will allow you to use your six hole wheels on the square body suspension. The C10 square body uses a five hole pattern. I was fortunate that both my 62 and my 66 have the eight hole pattern since they are the heavier models. My 62 has a one ton suspension in it and my 66 has a three-quarter ton. Both trucks are able to use the original style wheels if I want to use them.

  • @catboi1188
    @catboi1188 Před 5 měsíci

    Very important to do your research...i used a Lord Fusor product that was made for smc and it didn't stick any better than the regular fiberglass resin did 😂 very expensive proposition because i had to purchase a special applicator gun. I now only use Vette Bond by Evercoat ....$85/qt but worth the results...it sands very well and feathers nicely into the surrounding substrate, it is engineered to sand at the same rate as the original smc which is a great feature and it won't show the original damage which is called ghosting or mapping, some body fillers will show a hint of the original crack or hole once the sun hits it..for small repairs you can use "panel adhesive", JB Weld now offers a two part product its only a couple ounces and sells for $7 or so

      @@littletincans good on you for addressing this issue. Some guy made a video using the flexible bumper repair two part product which is just wrong 🤪 I customized my '85 by shaving the door handles, mirrors, side marker lights and emblems and grafted on a fiberglass rear bumper cover so I've had my share of failures working with this material...gets expensive 🤪 it's nice to save other owners the trouble and the expense of the trial and error method

    🤷Why would you get rid of the torsion bars suspension?

    • @littletincans
      @littletincans Před 6 měsíci

      For me, it was quicker to swap the front crossmember out. The advantage to the torsion bars is that I could lower the truck if I wanted without changing springs. The advantage to changing the entire crossmember assembly over for me was that I also get heavier components than the original. With switching over to power steering and disc brakes it’s easier to change the entire crossmember assembly than to do it by component.

    • @littletincans

      So sorry for the delayed response. I’m not sure about that swap. I had a 56 3100 but that was about 40 years ago so I don’t remember what the crossmember looks like. It sounds like a good idea though. If you could measure the width of the outside of your frame rails, where the crossmember is, I can measure the width of the crossmember assembly. I would imagine that you would have to drill all the holes or almost all the holes to do the swap. If your original crossmember is riveted in, I would mark where it’s at and then take the rivets out, then slide the square body front suspension up in.

I also have the '96 rear flares which just adhere, do you know if there is a special adhesive to go with the SMC or can I use the 3M Structural Adhesive (08101) I'd planned on?

    Will a heat gun turn a old white yellowish plastic into brand new white again? I see them used in black plastics but not white. There's videos on using hydrogen peroxide to turn yellowish white plastic into new white again but hydrogen peroxide destroys paint so it's too risky
