@@FOXY-2023 yeah it’s definitely worth finding this place and parking up for the night, for the money it’s the best value we’ve found out of all the park ups we’ve done so far. We didn’t use the showers here but apparently they are really good. Everything is very clean, the staff are very helpful too. And the town itself is very quaint and worth a look around 😊

@@mennoboon8037 thank you ☺️ And yeah the van is basically ready now, the only thing we don’t have is a folding sofa/bed in the back, but at the moment at least Ruby can sleep in a travel cot in that space. We won’t be doing the bed till next year as we can’t afford it at the moment but it’s good that we can still use it as it is 😁

All my videos go on this channel now, and sadly I don’t get much time to explore abandoned stuff these days but I still live in hope I’ll be able to get out an explore again soon enough, especially now we have a camper van 🚐

Yeah that’s the point, you want good value for what you’re paying. A lot of people have a great time here but for us it was a money grabbing experience and a huge let down, especially after we paid so much for the “special” tickets as well.

@@HelenHollywoodVlogs yeah does not surprise me what you find with most places is that the popular places are the worst as they just jump on the tourist bandwagon. where as there will be so much better hidden gems if you look hard enough.

Yeah Southampton was such a lovely town, very laid back and peaceful, beautiful beaches and lots of pretty homes to look at. We did go to Sauble as my husband went there a lot as a kid with his dad. But I do prefer Southampton 👌🏻 I’ve had a few people say that Sauble isn’t what it used to be unfortunately.

Yeah he’s a great looking van - and even more so with the pop top now on and all the windows too ( videos to come ) We’ve heard mixed things about the AddBlue, I just hope we don’t get any big issues.

The garage changed the wet belt for us before they let us take it away. They did a couple other jobs as well ( pump etc )

@HelenHollywoodVlogs thankyou for your reply , that’s reassuring to hear - I used to go into Exeter diesels a lot back in the day , be strict with your servicing / oil changes . Happy travels.

If you’re planning on going and just staying down on the main floor, drinking and dancing, then it should be a fun night. But the staff will expect huge tips, even if you’ve paid a premium to get inside. It’s potentially a great night for most people, I wanted it to be but our experience was just really disappointing.

Yeah we don’t like the small screen either. We ordered a double din radio ( think that’s what it’s called ) before we picked the van up. So it’s a much bigger screen and it’s a “smart” one too. We will be doing a video of the installation of that soon enough 😁 I can’t stand standard radio systems lol.

Have the AA looked after the wiring after they decommissioned it

@@vwgolffancarreviews7111 yeah it’s been thoroughly looked after. We have a full service history of the van as well. We are the first people to own it since the AA had it. It went to a garage in Exeter. Luckily, they serviced it before it hey let us have it and they changed the wet belt for us and a few other bits as well, which saved us a £1200 job. And it only has 65,000 miles which is great for the year.

@@vwgolffancarreviews7111 yeah it’s going to be awesome once we’ve got it fully done. It’s going to take a while, but at least when we have the basics done ( insulated and carpeted) that means we can camp in it for race weekends or random weekends away.

This was January 2022 - there were still loads of restrictions in place

@@HelenHollywoodVlogs it attaches to a drill and cuts sheet metal. Not expensive. Leaves a much nicer edge and follows the line.

Yeah you need your passport and you also need an ESTA or a visa - if you don’t have those, you won’t be able to pass through the American security checkpoint unfortunately. You also have to pay a little fee which is around $6. But it depends on where you’re from. If you’re an American or Canadian citizen, the rules are different and I think then all you need is a passport

Aww your message was sad to read, because I feel your pain for wanting and longing for “those good old days” I understand what you mean, remembering the good old days of childhood. My husband came here as a kid with his dad during the summers and has lots of fond memories. I would have loved to see this place back in the day 😮

Yeah I don’t think of beaches when I think of Canada, and all the beaches are a part of a gigantic lake 😮 it’s so big it looks like the ocean 🌊 Definitely get yourself over there when you get a chance, it’s lovely and so are the people 😊

They demanded $125 from each of us… that’s much more than a rip off lol!! And we tipped after each service we were given in other places. The whole point of tipping is because you’ve been given a service 🙄

You just completely missed the point didn’t you! You said you don’t have to tip $20 $3 will help! yet they where demanding to be tipped $120 each ! You completely bypassed this point when making your point about them not tipping 🤦🏻‍♂️

We wanted to go though. Saw videos of the show etc and it looked great. Which I’m sure it is if you can actually enjoy it. It just turned out to be a bad night and that’s that. Been to vegas twice, it’s definitely a rip off in places lol but also fun. Different times, different situations.
