Reducing the risk of getting a bowel cancer
Bowel cancer is common with over 40,000 new cases every year in the UK, affecting 1 in 14 men and 1 in 19 women during their lifetime. The vast majority (90%) of bowel cancer are found in people over the age of 50.
Whilst it is not possible to entirely prevent cancer, it is possible to reduce the risk factors for getting a bowel cancer, mainly by changing lifestyle factors

The main treatment for bowel cancer is surgery which involves removal the affected part of the bowel. Treatment also depends on the location and stage of the cancer. Some patients need pre-operative treatment (with chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy) before surgery is performed. The common bowel cancer operations usually involve three main steps: mobilisation, resection and anastomosis (rejoining...

I found out last August 10, 2023, upon my Ultrasound on July 28, 2023, that l have Ovarian Cancer ♋️! So, then my Oncologist at FSMC, had wanted to do the surgery, but l needed a 2nd opinion, & research on, other parts of the body! So, after so many CTSCANS, Ultrasounds, blood work, Pet Scan, & finally an MRI, l actually had Appendix, Ovarian and then full blown Abdominal Cancer ♋️, where l had to change over my Health Ins., after my 1st Appendix/Ovarian Cancer Operation on 11/1/23, just so l could have the 2nd Abdominal Cancer Hipec Procedure Operation on Feb, 1, 2024. I was in stage 4 for all of my Cancers! And I was told by my 2nd Oncologist that he got rid of ALL of the Cancer ♋️. But, for the 2nd post-op, l still had to have another brand new Ultrasound & more blood work done. And, then every 6mths, for 2 yrs! The survival rate is 50-90%, and up to 5 or more yrs to live! I am Blessed, and l give ALL of the Glory, Honor, Praise and Victory over my New Life 🙏 because of Ou Lord Jesus God!
Hi, if peritoneal cancer (undifferentiated carcinoma) already spreading to lymph node L5 lumbar and pressure to nerve pain. Can this PIPAC clinical able run parallel with palliative care to reduce/control the nerve pain? Please help.

hello sir my mother diagnosed stage 4 abdomen cancer and she is 65 yr old her weight is 45 so she can bare the surgery could you please help me ?
My dad found out last week that he had a growth, bowel cancer. And they got him in for surgery a week later. He is in a lot of pain and his stomach has swollen so they’ve taken him off food. He went for an x ray and now waiting for results. He is 79 years old, I hope they removed all the cancer and that he doesn’t need chemotherapy and will recover well. I’m really worried but I hope it will all work out.
I saw Maranda Bailey perform this in Grey's Anatomy and was amazed!! So I am here to know more!
this operation is horrible
Why, can you explain me?
Came here as I am following Paul from Perth and his cancer journey. I pray 🙏 he gets his chance to have this procedure.
He’s such a kind soul. I hope this works for him.
Goodness, proposter Paul, the hypocrite, who sells whiny videos to elder women? His cancer journey must be told to the world. He has such a "great message". He needs subs for money, that's it. Yes, he has cancer. But he is such an egocentric childish cry baby, who needs constant attention. He's a homosexual former drug addict, but he will not tell to his fangirls. He's never been a teacher. Now, he is telling to his fans, next Friday he's having his pet scan, subscribe, subscribe, subscribe. Everyone wants to know the results, yeah, pet scan, the wonder word for cancer vloggers. He's selling emotions to his devoted subs, mainly naive women.
Same. He's such a sweet soul. And he's so scared right now. I hope he can get to this point.
@@dontfckwithspiders5684 Why you all have such false parasocial relationships on CZcams? Paul, he wants subs, that's all. Most cancer vloggers play this game. He cries like a baby, melting hearts of naive elder women. Why going on CZcams? He says, he has a message. What message? It's cancer entertainment. It's all about money.

In case of CRS + HIPEC for low grade neoplasm in peritoneum, what could be outcome of surgery .

Male, 43yo, in Helsinki Finland. I had a surgery for appendictis in November 2022, and was diagnosed with a mucinous carcinoma of the appendix in Dec22. I had CRS + Hipec performed in Feb23. My op lasted for about 6h, which is the shortest possible time, as they found suspected carcinoma only in 5 of the 39 sectors of the abdomen. Afterwards, the pathologic report revealed that all suspected findings were carcinoma, and the lymph nodes in the removed part of colon were clean. I spent a day in the ICU, then two weeks at the infirmary for abdominal surgeries. I have recovered well, and at two months post surgery I’ve already started working short days. Systemic chemotherapy starting next week, which frankly is quite scary. But like everything else in this journey, these things just pop in my path, and then I have to bite the bullet and hope for the best. All in all, my situation is very good, and I consider my self extremely lucky. Especially for being born in a time and a country in which these treatments are available. If you’re reading this because you’re a fellow patient, let me extend my support to you. ❤
@user-xd2dp8gt9r Sure thing! I was prescribed 8 rounds of chemo. Each round lasts 3 weeks, and starts of with an infusion of Oxaliplatin, and then tablets of capecitabin for 2 weeks. After that there’s a one week break, then it starts over. Due to the risk side effects becoming permanent, the Oxaliplatin dose was gradually dropped (100%-> 90% -> 70%) until we stopped completely after the fifth infusion. Still continuing with capecitabin, I have one round left. Latest CT scan showed no malignant findings, so it’s all promising at the moment. For me, the 100% Oxaliplatin felt quite rough, but even the 10% deduction helped a lot. The capecitabin only makes me tired, and I have maybe 30% of my usual resources at my disposal. Please keep in mind, that it’s very individual how the treatments are prescribed and how each individual reacts to them.
It is probably too late for me but I would still like to know if CRS and HIPec could be applicable in cases of pelvic spread from recurrent endometrial cancer. It was not mentioned in the excellent presentation.
I hope you are ok? We’re you able to get the surgery?
Thanks for asking. Still no possibility of surgery for me but I am doing okay and will be starting immunotherapy soon. @@Shelilah41

My cousin passed away from Paritoneal Carcinamatosis early this morning, she just turned 35. I want to thank you for your presentation as it helped me to better understand.
Very depressing story
Best and clearest explanations I have found. Was diagnosed with PMP (lamn) last week and journey beginning.
Hoping a better recovery
Is it possible to offer HIPEC post de-bulking surgery as a separate treatment? I am 3 months post de-bulking surgery and with no lymphatic or thoracic involvement.. I had 3 chemo treatments prior to surgery- and 3 post surgery, just completed. My NHS surgeon did not think HIPEC was a curative treatment. Am i entitled to get a 2nd opinion on the NHS and be reffered to you ?
Surgeons truly are gifted.

Is needle biopsy recommended? Does it spread the cancer cells?
Sounds like a situation where even if it does they still get paid
It does spread. Better is u ger surgery done and get the biopsy done from that

Im a peritonial cancer victim. Too expensive. SAD!
What treatment are you doing?
Dr Bartlett at Allegheny Health in Pittsburgh is top notch!! I just had my second CRS and HIPEC Feb 2022
What stage cancer was you at the time of procedure? I'm asking because my girlfriend might be having the same procedure
Excellent presentation. Clarified so much. Thank you.
Unfortunately this should have been performed on my Mom when she first got diagnosed in 2010, but traditional chemotherapy was the treatment of choice. By the time HIPEC was recommended it was too late to perform the procedure as the cancer has spread and attached to the small intestines. Very few places and doctors could perform this surgery at the time (2010-11) and CTCA Chicago was the one we found and chose. Again it was far too late and the cancer far too advanced for this procedure to be an option. I firmly believe if this was done at the time of her diagnosis, she would still be here today but we lost her 12-20-2011.
I’m sorry for the pain the loss of your mom caused you. I too cannot receive HIPEC because of my advanced age. I hope your mom did not suffer too badly.
Lorraine, you need to find better doctors. There are medicines and doses that are appropriate for ANY age. My father was completely cured of Hodgkin's disease, at age 86, with a targeted therapy, that was dosed appropriately for his age. He had no side effects.
