    I'd like to share some knowledge about what I know regarding this engine. I am sure it uses 530 from the factory and manual book, but I suggest using high-velocity 030 or low-velocity 040 change every 5000km. I have seen some of these KR20 engines damaged by using 020. Regarding the filter, it can use a larger filter for Honda or other engines like MANN 610/3, 610/6, or W814/80, which are twice the size of the Nissan filter and work great. I own a big fan club of VC-TURBO in China. I made a piggy-back for the QX50 that can make it run 0-100 km/h in 5.85 seconds. You are doing a great job of sharing knowledge. Thank you.

      That is very good info to know. I wonder why the engine bay says 0w-20 and my manual too. On one of the comments someone mentioned their manual saying 5w-30 also. I wonder if they changed it along the way. I have changed my sons bmw from 0w-20 to 5w-30 but he pushes it a bit sometimes. Also on my C7 corvette GM is changing from 5w-30 to 0w-40 but can use either for the vette. Do you know the reason for the cause of the issue for the 4cy turbo by any chance. Those filters are tiny same as the corvette. I am looking into replacing the filter on my GM 6.2 to PPI filters which are double the size of the AC Delco ones. Thank you for your feedback

      @@ExtremDIY I have downloaded user manual for usa 2023 qx50 it says 5w30. Never seen any qx50 or Altima turbo write 020in engine bay. Iam confused about your car. Only 020 use is KR15. But you know that engine has many failure. You can do your research about the filters . Just make sure the gasket and thread and the diameter match the engine side install surface which quite bigger than Nissan filter.

      @kaiyuchen3156 Před dnem

      @ExtremDIY All VCT engine failures are similar, typically involving rod bearing fragmentation. I lot KR15 few KR20. I suggest my group people use 040 for both engine. Works great. And dealerships in China strat to use 530 or 030for KR15 service. I also send my new and old oil to lab test many times. These engines has fuel dilution problem. 5% of fuel getting to oil after 5000km run using 030. 3% after 040. And velocity goes thin a lot.

      @@kaiyuchen3156 Thank you for your help. My wife wanted that car for a while and after she purchased it I did see a bit of issues with that motor. We have owned 8 maximas and never an issue with them so we thought this would be a good purchase. I dont like turbos too much but she doesnt use it much. Its new and has warranty lets hope it doesnt break. She got the maintenance included for free and I will be doing the oil change in between the dealer ones. After your comment I contacted the manufacture about the oil issue. Next change will be 5w30. Someone commented that theirs also said 5w30 on their manual. Thanks

      @@ExtremDIYHi . I just checked the manuals for the 2024 QX50 and QX55. They changed to 020. But the 2024 Altima is still 530. It’s just nonsense. I will stick to 030 and 040. Maybe it's to make the fuel efficiency data look better. But it will definitely sacrifice lifespan and power.

    Question regarding the electrical connector. We just finished replacing my 2016 Yukon rear shocks. When trying to put the electrical connector back on, we spent hours. We could never get it to securely clip in place. We ended up pushing it on as hard as we could and then zip tied it together. I absolutely hate having to do that but we were just stumped. We even tried to put the old shock connector back on to see if maybe the new one was slightly different, but we couldn't even get the old one to plug in properly either. We are obviously doing something incorrectly, but I am wondering if the connector wasn't making a connection, would I get warnings?

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY Před 3 dny

      Hello I had no issue with my connector but I was first sent the incorrect shock and had to return it to get the correct ones. Are you using the after market ones or the original OEM ones? If you are using the OEM ones it should work fine. The second thing is the safety gray tab on the video is time stamp 10:38 which you have to make sure its pushed back before you plug the connectors. If the safety tab if forward you wont be able to get the connector in all the way which could be your issue. You do have to push it a bit but not too hard. Hope this helps

      The ones I purchased were the Dorman 949-705. But, I also was not able to get the old shocks to plug back in either. I had the tab pulled out when we tried to plug it in and then I would push the tab in when we thought it was pushed in all the way. I am not getting any suspension warnings, so I’m thinking it is probably making connection, but that’s just an assumption.

AND it's not a big deal if for some reason you're only squirting water out of it but if you are squirting herbicide that you don't want on your hands it can be frustrating and potentially dangerous if not deadly IMO this is just another piece of junk exported to the usa by chicoms.

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY Před 5 dny

      Hello on the 2620 it has a special carb adjust screw that you can purchase to adjust the carb. First thing do you use ethanol free gas? If not start with new gas preferably ethanol free. If you store your unit with regular gas it becomes bad and its usually the first thing a shop will do. If you still have an issue check air filter make sure its clean and not clogged. You can check spark plug to make sure its not bad some times they go bad. They do sell kits with fuel filter air and plug. Also the fuel filter gets clogged and you starve the carburetor for fuel. I love Echo they run for long time if you take of them. If it dies out at full throttle could be the fuel and fuel filter. Hope this helps

    Nice review! Will the 565 saw run with a smaller battery at least for a short time like the ones that come with the drills. I have several of them. I believe they are 1.3AH batteries. I only have one 4AH battery and thought if I can use one of the smaller batteries while the bigger battery gets charged back up would be nice.

      Thank you it does run with the smaller battery but you wont get as much torque on it as the 4 ah battery. I have 9 ah and it works pretty cool. Also depends on the wood. If its wet then the small battery wont last long but will work.

    I use a magnetized drain plug. The first oil change had the most particles covering the magnet, and the following oil changes had decreasing amounts. Now there is just a very thin film of particles at each oil change. I have a Toyota with a plastic oil filter case so unfortunately putting magnets there won't work.

    This is a rebranded Greenworks. Stihl bought a substantial share of the company. They make mowers for Stihl (obviously), Kobalt, Snapper, Menards, Harbor Freight, etc. Usually the main differences are the handle and battery design. On some models the batteries are the same dimensions but there are different notches so they're not interchangeable. I have the 80 volt Kobalt model. My biggest complaint is that it likes to miss spots, like it doesn't have enough vacuum to lift the grass.

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY Před 10 dny

      Yes you are correct on the maker and yes the vacuum thing could be an issue. I did a test with a small wind meter and out of my 4 mowers the echo has the least suction. The reason was the blade I notice that the blade was very flat to save battery life. If you can find a blade for the unit that has a higher pitch it will increase the vacuum on it at least my Echo had that issue. I also have 3 Toro and the gas one by far has more suction even with the same style blade. Not sure if they make a high lift blade for the Kobalt all I see is a multi purpose blade. Try to find one and if they make one give it a try and see that it will improve. thanks

    • @glbennett66
      @glbennett66 Před 10 dny

      From what I've seen, the blade is the same on all those models and there is no high lift blade available. I have seen people hack together blades but I wouldn't trust that. I'm figuring it puts too much load on the motor or uses too much battery is their reasoning. But that's just a guess.

    Magnetic capture of metal particles is only part of the wear process. Yes remove metal, however during the rotation application of wear and tear, bushings, and some bearings are of different alloys not containing ferris properties. Magnetic capture will not capture non ferris particles. Hence the reason for regular oil and filter changes to avoid wear and oil diluted from compression ring gas blow by. Eg normally around 5000km I change out my filters and oil. It's a cheap insurance policy if you intend to retain the vechical longer in its life.

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY Před 11 dny

      I believe after mush research 5000 km is a perfect time to change the oil and filters. There are other options out there that give you better filtration but cost more and are not available for most vehicles. Also depends on your driving condition too. Many car companies change your oil at 7k or even 10k which I think its a mistake if you plan to keep the car. Some OEM filters dont filter less than 30 microns and with bypass valves that who know how many times they open and allow particles to get through. I like the magnets on the filter and oil plug to at least remove as mush ferrous metal as possible. I am in contact with 2 companies to a possible upgrade to my filter which do about 2 microns of filtration but not cheap. I mean if you change your car every 4 years OEM is fine with a good oil.

  • @willie6184
    @willie6184 Před 12 dny

    You are collecting particles before the filtered oil. Your result only shows engine wears and does not proof magnets are helpful at all. You should collect those particles and pass them through the oil filter and get a better understanding. I will be interested to see the result, but judging from the video, those particles likely cannot pass the filter.

    • @barbraabsalom4531
      @barbraabsalom4531 Před 12 dny

      It is very simple to prove if the filtermag works or not , send the sample collecting to be tested at a lab & if the particles are under 20 micron , then they are removing particles of a size that would pass straight through the filter . Someone please do this , I want to know as I use filtermag in all my vehicles .

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY Před 12 dny

      Yes its picking up pre filter ferrous metals that normally would be on element. You have to consider bypass and filter only gets between 25-30 microns at 99% efficiency. Anything under that will go through filter. Any precautions for the investment price of magnets is a plus. Do some research and you will see OEM filters are not as good as you think. If they were there would not be engine failures. Look into bypass filters, PPE filters that come with magnets, HUBB filters and will give you some idea that OEM are not the best. Best option is to replace your oil between 3k to 4k miles.

The 16 ft one cuts thicker branches and has a 3x pulley instead of the 2x for the 14 ft one so its easier to cut. The 16 ft has a better blade also. On the 16 ft one when collapsed its shorter than the 14 ft pole. Hope this helps. thank you

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY Před 15 dny

      Hello on the first number with the W is the winter weight viscosity 0 is thinner so if you live in cold climate then use 0w-20 Most cars that use 0w-20 can use 5w-30 its just a bit thicker viscosity. This is a good option if you are in a budget but its a synthetic blend not full synthetic. After some time of doing oil research and trying many oils. I recommend changing your oil at max 4k to 5k miles even if you use the best oils. I added some magnets to my oil filters and oil drain plug to catch those metals that the oil filter wont catch. Also if you can spend a bit more I would recommend Valvoline Extended protection 0w=20 or Pennzoil platinum or ultra platinum oils. You can them also at Walmart with either Fram Endurance or Fram Ultra Synthetic oil filters that are great. You would spend a bit more but will get better protection. Hope this helps

      Hi if you read some of the comments you will see that many think its a waste of time. I personally dont think its a waste but its a very good way to keep ferrous metals out of the oil. The more research I do the more benefits I see out of using magnets on the filter and oil drain plug. I have found 3 manufactures that use magnets on their oil filters even for the cartridge type which I just found for BMW cars. Even in fuel systems there are magnetic filters. The idea is to get the oil as clean as possible. There are even bypass filters for diesel engines that have better filtration than single filters. thanks
