308 fan they all will get the job done recoil never bothered me .hunt with what u like no 6.5 270 any day
I've always loved SMGA, but I won't purchase another gun from them, especially online. It's been nearly two weeks with no status update. I've left messages, sent emails, etc. The customer service is severely lacking. I'll update this if anything changes, but for now it's a no go.
@@trainingwolves7 email me at tcbarnette@smkw.com and I’ll see what I can do to get this straightened out.
This will be my next purchase 👍
30.06 does it all Jack if all trades and every back woods hardware store has ammo
I use the 338 lupuae on everything hogs elk bear 🐻 ect. Thank you 😅
Great review and thank you for your 20 year service. 👍👍👍
The only that sucks with the .308..................The Commonwealth of PA WON'T allow me to hunt with my AR-10
OK. My favorite deer hunting cartridge for hunting the Green Mountains and White Mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire is the 6.5X55 SW. As a hand-loader I get higher velocities with the 140 gr. hunting bullets than the 6.5 Creedmore. I also use the 6.5X55 GWI which when loaded with the same 140 gr. hunting has velocities bullet the 6.5-284 has with that 140 gr bullet. My 6.5 GWI rifle shoots the same 140 gr. bullet into the same group as the GWI at 100 yards. Hence I use the 6.5X55 SW cartridge in the GWI for heavy cover and fire forming the 6.5 GWI brass without barrel damaging high velocity. That all being said I also at times grab my .30 06 with 150 gr bullets and it does a great job. Thing is it, along with other cartridges like .25 06 and 270 Win cause blood shot in the meat. 140 gr 6.5X55 SW does the job with minimal meat damage and incredible penetration, mild recoil, high accuracy, inexpensive and easily available brass and bullets. If I could only own one rifle it would be the .30 06 as it is a better choice for larger game when I get the chance to travel to hunt other species. Heck, they still love and recommend it for plains game in Africa.
Your misleading with the 308 and the 6 5 Creed more they are not long range ... Fact they do not have the energy to deliver.. wounded game all over the United States... They are Target rounds fact
BrowningX bolt all the way
7mm is my favorite all around cartridge. For deer, prog horn, elk moose and even bear if need be
Recoil management is learned in my experience. Work your way up to it. 30-06 is mild once you practice. Good stock and pad always helps manage it all.
That's not a sporting rifle
The Henry is not a “classic” but a modern knock off of true classic Marlins and the older Marlins are still better rifles. The new Ruger/Marlins are really nice rifles too and deserve the “Marlin” stamp.
Now that's A thing of beauty 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You guys and your 06s...I've had 2 different 30-06..I could never get any good groups with an 06..So..I went 300win mag,,wow,,big different..
heard they removed alot of aftermarket support for the x-bolt including 95% of all chassis like mdt. They haven't specified why though. I about bought one then i saw that, so i went with the new bergara sierra in .300 win mag
Tikka all day. Just so accurate and reliable and best action by far.
7mm REM Mag is awesome.
I like the way you mention geography because I live in an area like you with lots of hills and I just don’t get many 200 yard shots. In eastern Kentucky the 243 and 30-30 are plenty of round for hunting but I was surprised by how that differs from place to place. Met a guy thru work he lived in northern ny and it’s an area with mountains and hills like here. Like here you don’t get those super long range shots. I walked into a gun store on a hunting trip and saw 300 savage ammo everywhere. I guess up there 30-30 never caught on quite as much as 300 savage did maybe because the savage round had more punch. Dunno just know it’s a dead round in my home area but up there still very popular!!!
Military using the.277 Fury now. It’s baddass 🇺🇸👍🏻👍🏻
I’ve had a lot of rifles. .270 hard to beat 💪🏻🇺🇸
I believe the 243 Win should replace the 6.5 cripplemore in the top 5.
They are all much too big for squirrel.
🤣
7mm rem mag 160 grain nosler partition is really hard to beat
Love it!!
That gun is ret*rded. Just .like the dude in the video.
so does your store also ignore left hand shooters?
We do not, we have several models available in left hand variations including the Savage 110 series, Tikka T1x and T3x, Christensen Mesa along with several shotguns.
Nice
the problem with doin a list like this your not accounting for restrictive states like Ohio or even Indiana on public land all of those would land you in prison here and my pet round is 35Remington cus indiana has a 35 caliber rule
What no mention of 7mm remington mag ??
The Howa 1500 is (IMO) the most accurate rifle in it's price range.
Aren't these things useless even compared to the pistol versions due to the rifling? It's short enough in the pistol to not ruin a pattern *too* bad but 16" of rifling will be flinging pellets 20ft wide at 20ft lol
3006 has taken everything on the planet
The crudmoore is a target gun
4570 has been around longer than the 30 o6 da
.280 Remington
30-06 can and has taken anything on planet earth.
Just got one it's reliable and very accurate and made very well !!
Hi sir, can I buy one?
7x57 good rep
X-bolt and A-bolt are easy and smooth to use!
The xbolt has been a great rifle for me. Had it since its release in 2008. Many whitetails and moose have been taken with it. Stainless stalker in 30.06. 👌🏽 8:02
I still don’t understand why they couldn’t have at least put some flip up sights on it
What ammo do you recommend so it does not jam? I understand the weaker ammo is not the way to go. The last thing you want if a home intruder is in your house is your shotgun to jam. Any advice would be appreciated. 007
I tried guessing what they would be at the beginning. The only one I didn't get was the Browning. That one surprised me a little. I didn't realize Remington had fallen off so much. I also thought that maybe Bergara or T/C would sneak in there.
You lost credibility when you said 6.5 creedmore. 7mm rem has been more popular for far longer. Creedmore is a target round for long range.
That base Tikka T3x blued/polymer stock is $749 in most big box stores and still under 700.00 online. My pick of your line-up is Tikka hands down. Best factory production trigger in my experience and it can be reduced down to about 1.5 pounds with an 8.00 trigger spring. Secondly, those actions are CNC produced and according to many top tier builders I spoke with, you can buy an aftermarket stock and have it bedded, free float the barrel, and use it on any other Tikka. Case in point, I had a Tikka T3x modified with a Brux barrel and an AG Composite stock. AG told me to shoot it first to decide if it even needs to be bedded. It shot sub half MOA so I didn't get it bedded. I can match up any other Tikka action with another barrel so long as it is cut the same at the shank and just use one stock for any Tikka barreled action. I have a Stocky's stock with another Tikka in 7PRC with a Proof barrel. It shot well also but I decided to get that one bedded.
The 30-06 is undoubtedly popular and versatile. I chose a 300wsm. For moose hunting in northern Canada. Ballistics show it retains more energy at longer distances. The recoil is not for everyone. Good eye relief on scope and a shoulder pad helps. Purchased a second hand Tikka s.s with a composite camo stalk . Well made rifle in what I think is a great caliber . To each is own I guess .
Cartridges, not calibers.
