I love my R8. It’s the most well built, precise rifle I’ve ever shot. I just confirmed zero with my .308 hunting handloads and printed a sub .25” group at 100. It would probably be my only hunting rifle if I could afford it. Barrels are $1300 at a minimum. The saddle mounts are $450. But….its one hell of a rifle if you’ve got pockets deep enough for it.
This is a fantastic rifle. I sold my other rifles and bought the R8. This is now my only rifle and will probably be my last. It is just so well made and perfect for hunting. The fact that it is just as safe to have a cartrigde in the chamber as in the magazine is just such an advantage. No messing around with loading the rifle when you see the animal. The straight pull makes it much easier to stay on target and see that you have hit the animal. And - the system is sooo stable. Snow, rain or sun, the rifle har the same point of impact. Take it apart and assemble, its the same.
Also. Having one rifle has made me a better shooter. All my time is used getting used to this one rifle.
R8 is my ultimate hunting rifle. I currently have two success stocks and four barrels. Got me 3 Ontario moose’s and lots white tails. Never let me down. Btw, I have lots of hunting rifles now, but I will only grab R8 when I go out into bushes.
I have two now. Great piece of German engineering. Perfect for those that travel by air to hunt.

Great video but what they didn't show is the fantastic scope mount system. Swithing between different scopes is not an issue. The machining of the steel parts is so precise and locking tension so consistent that zero holds true. When going hunting, I can bring a couple of barrels with me and some different scopes. E.g. for my 9,3x62 (the barrel I use for wild boer and European moose) I have three different scopes: A Zeiss Victory HT 3-12x56 Ret. 60 ASV+, a thermal HikMicro Stellar SQ50 and a red dot sight, the Blaser RD20. Depending on the hunt, I can easily swap between the RD20 on a driven hunt with short distances and over to the Zeiss if the distance will be 100+ yds or when stalking before I choose the HikMicro for night hunting. My calibers (22-250, .308 Win and the 9,3x62) are all in the standard caliber group and I therefore only need 1 bolt head. The HikMicro is also sighted in for the 22-250 for fox hunting but otherwise, I have different scopes for the different calibers. When traveling, it's so easy to put the different barrels, silencers/suppressors and scopes in gun cases knowing they're well protected. It's a really nice gun and one I can recommend.

What’s with 8,6 BLK with a 1 in 3 twist?
Check out the Merkel Helix Speedster rifle and take a look at Dentler scope mount system, both German made.
When you shoot a Blaser rifle the “ slide “ can hit your face when you reload…the Merkel Helix Speedster is a better system, it is faster and you don’t have to worry about the slide hitting you in the face
I also had a Merkel lhelix, carried both for a few years, I sold Merkel. Btw, my stocks are professes success. Suggest you try it, it is awesome.

Are they so expensive in the US? In Germany they Start at 3k€ and are the most sold Hunting Rifles at least in Germany from what i know even in whole Europe
Bought mine in 300 win mag for $1800 and a 3 barrel attache for $5500 shop around.
The scope mast be picatini rail but German wants more and more money

Any decocked rifle is NOT 100% safe as the firing pin rests against the round and has potential to fire if jolted hard enough…..
That is not correct in the case of the Blaser or a number of other rifles designed in Europe that use a decocker. The design is not even remotely like a conventional bolt action.
