If this is a rom hack of MK2, when the game starts up, you should see where it is checking the boards roms, sound, etc. That's when you can access menu options and settings. That's what my actual MK2 cabinet does when starting up. It goes in diagnostic mode and checks to make sure all the chips on the board are functioning properly and I have the option of bypassing diagnostic mode and going into the MK attract screen or going into arcade option settings. Maybe in the menu settings, there is additional features you can turn on?

There's a Goro's stage but I've noticed it is without glowing eyes like in MK1.

Ps1 version was way better and complete just like the arcade version and have animality and brutality while the n64 lack of one of this can’t remember if it was animality but it doesn’t have both like the ps1

The last one ATGames made the 2018 Sega Genesis Flashback HD (has a SD Card slot on the side) is the best one they made.

It honestly took me a second with what a flower had to do with Melena. And then it dawned upon me. Sais were normally used as garden tools.

To perform friendship/babalities, this time around you must not use block, like in MK3. The differences between this and og MK2 are plenty, but mostly noticeable when playing against human opponents. It seems that the CPU enemy didn't quite adapt to all of the changes. For example, in this version you aren't supposed to be able to duck Cage's Shadow Kick and yet, when playing as Sub, you did just that. :) In versus mode, you'd get kicked during crouch. In fact, you can beat the entire game just by spamming Shadow Kicks. As for other changes, they are too numerous to list... Sub-Zero's Freeze deals damage now, his (and Reptile's) Slide requires the opponent to block low, Reptile gains fast Forceball, Baraka Air Throw, etc. Certain inputs are changed, hurtboxes & hitboxes are altered, auto walk cycles are gone (all of the characters now immediately stop when you release the direction), different pushbacks and recovery times... Everything done here is to better balance the characters and make them all viable in high level play.

I still own both of my copies that I bought way back, when MK Armageddon first dropped. I felt the PS1 had the best audio and overall performance. But its load times were too much, even if I ran it on my PS2 with the read speed option set to fast. This would also introduce glitches/freezes from time to time. The N64 was blazing fast with hardly any load waits. But I hated using the N64 control pad to play it. Yuck. I recall searching for an emulated SNES game pad or something similar to a PS controller to use on it. But no dice at that time. lol Now you can but I no longer care to play them. I loved using Ermac but he was kinda cheap lol. In fact this entire game was pretty unbalanced haha. But we played it anyways because who could say no to such a huge roster with variants. MK2 remains my favorite of the classic MK games.

I remember playing this version on two occasions. Haven't given it the love it deserves.

THIS is the best Konquest, not Deception because Shujinko is a boring character with a boring story, it is very slow and after approximately five hours of playing I just opened my eyes and the ending is like "Everything you did was in vain"... It's bad

This is garbage. I spent extensive time with MK 1 and 2... not so much 3 in both arcade and Genesis (I had Genesis back in the day, brother had SNES) and the music on this atgames POS is terrible. I loved the Genesis music for MK1 more than the arcade version. This version is yuck.

Damn' it, I also saw this on a local second hand shop, and I didn't get it. Now I regret it. Had no idea it had the MK games, and as you said, for the controllers alone is worth it. I bought an unofficial Genesis 6 button controller for 15 dollars on ebay, shipping costs included, but the three upper buttons only work for the first 30 minutes every time you plug in the system. Weirdest thing ever.

MK2 TE was a lot of fun to play! I remember when it came out. Unfortunately the hacker lost interest/time to work on it. But it also inspired a slew of mk ROM hacks after!

MK really is great. Nostalgia overload

Had a blast with the Konquest mode , but this one the only things I disliked was that you couldn't go back if you missed something , you couldn't go back, you had to start from the beginning of Konquest mode to get the missing item to unlock something, also I disliked the create a fatality instead of normal fatalities

This game was the beginning of the end for a cohesive narrative in Mortal Kombat. They did so well at world building with Deadly Alliance and Deception, then threw it all away with this game. Every game since has been a pointless reboot or rehash of previous games stories, even though the story mode presentation has been great. Oh well. It's always been fun to play MK, but it was one of the few fighting game franchises that put an effort into world building.

After the 36 chambers reference I'd love to see you play the Wu Tang Clan game for psone

I don't remember Shang Tsung having a sweep kick in the Game Boy version of Mortal Kombat.
