    The 32x is far superior then the snes. it is the best of its time. Snes sound is too muffled, missed a lot of sprites, has less colours, less resolution, is less fluid, the people are not in the correct position vertically. Even mega drive has more sprites and resolution than snes.
    Anyone that says the snes was better, is because they never had the 32x to compare, and is a hater. I had (and still have) both

    After the addition of all the voices & a bunch of arcade perfect sound effects, this version has so much more life to it than the Genesis. I just wonder if Probe could've improved the music at all using the 32X. Much of the music was already pretty good, but some of it could've been improved & the music from the arcade after defeating Kahn wasn't even attempted on here. The SNES had a very good version included. Character resolution on here is definitely better than the SNES. Too bad Probe left out the sounds for Sub-Zero's ice, Scorpion's spear, Kitana's fan lift, Jax's wave, Kung Lao's spin, Cage's green balls, Kintaro's roar, Reptile's force ball, a couple more Kahn taunts, etc. All of those but Scorpion's spear were included on SNES. I can't decide between 32X & SNES. They each have pluses & minuses that kind of equal out. What I do know is that if Sculptured Software had used a 32 meg cart instead of 24 on SNES that this wouldn't even be a contest since Probe had 32 megs & could only come to a draw with the SNES version. Sculptured would've been able to add the few missing sound effects, probably de-compress the voices to perfect arcade quality, add the opening screens & maybe get image quality on the characters even better. Nice video man!

    32X version from the standpoint of speed and gameplay is the best cartridge version. Most of the arcade combos work as opposed to SNES version, while SNES has a better color palette and more accurate sound.

    In the arcade, start as player 2, there is a a duck jump method that indefinitely let the cpu walk backwards( doesn't seem to work when start as player 1 ) , i used this exploit when I was a kid to beat the game by just let time run out;)

  • @ShengNotShane
    @ShengNotShane Před 2 měsíci +1

    The 32X is limited by the Genesis, being only able to read 4mb at a time. So you could have a larger cart, to carry the higher quality assets, sprites, backgrounds, and sound etc, but the machine can only access 4mb of it at a time just like the Genesis.

  • @desklaser
    @desklaser Před 2 měsíci +1

    Now I am no expert on how programming works but I always hear that the 32X and the Genesis are doing split duties on 32X games. That could lead to an argument on if the 32X truly was a 32 bit console similar to how the Playstation was. That makes me think a 32X vs PS1 comparison really wouldn't show that much as it's largely going to come down to your own personal preference of CD Audio or no load times.

    • @brandogg
      @brandogg Před 2 měsíci +1

      No console port of MKII uses CD audio, except the 32X Arcade Edition rom hack. Saturn and PSX both have midi soundtracks.

    • @The_Kiosk
      @The_Kiosk Před 2 měsíci

      From what I understand, the 32x has a separate video output that gets merged with the genesis video out. The extra colors and some higher definition graphics are spliced in, sort of masked over the genesis output. It's mostly as pixelated as the 16 bit game but with way more colors at a time.

    It’s kinda funny that there’s not a lot of love for Baraka. He’s my go to guy and the only character I can easily use to win with one life. And it seems to me the AI is weakest against him on the arcade. In fact, the only time I have to use the punch button is against Shao Kahn. A great character to use for new players.

    The exploit is jump back and kick.. No ducking needed in the arcade or SNES versions.. jumping back and kick exploit is still not like the arcade or the SNES on the Genesis or 32X versions.. They pause longer before jumping towards you.. Compare the exploits and you'll notice a big difference in the gameplay.. Even though the 32X version still has the same crappy Genesis music, at least it's more comparable to the SNES.. This should have been the standalone Genesis version with all the voices etc..But still even the colors are slightly better on the SNES.. But it's still a lazy job by Probe..

  • @petermanfredini
    @petermanfredini Před 2 měsíci

    I own the sega saturn version and the arcade exploits dont work for that one. But funny enough the AI is much dumber in that version. They hardly ever will block sub zeros freeze. So you can infinitely freeze + uppercut.
    Also on the saturn and ps1 version as sub zero or reptile if you have some one backed into the corner you can infinitely slide into them and they can not get up in time to block it.

    I don't get why people still complain about the Super NES versions and that the names are not inside the power bar, every good fighting games in existence other than Mortal Kombat has had characters name outside of power bars so not sure what the big deal about that was. Maybe they are just piss cause it doesn't look exactly like the arcade or maybe they just like bad games. Games like Tekken, Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, Yie-Ar Kung Fu, KOF, Fatal Fury, BlazBlue, Guilty Gear, Soul Calibur, Samurai Shodown, Last Blade, Clay Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, Fighter's History, Primal Rage, etc., all had names outside their power bars. The only other fighting game that had names inside power bar is that awful Time Killers arcade fighting game and even the Genesis port of that game had their names outside the power bar.

    • @Jolly-Green-Steve
      @Jolly-Green-Steve Před 2 měsíci +1

      It's because it's not like the arcade obviously. I guess the developers were either out of sprite/tile-map layers or they couldn't figure out how to do it because MK1 SNES has names in the power bar. I think MK1 was the only game on the system that had names in the power bar. I grew up on the SNES port it was top notch for the time but I think the Saturn version is the best and closest to the arcade in sound and visuals if you can deal with the in battle loading stutters which isn't nearly as bad as the PSX version. For O.G. console ports it goes Saturn/SNES/32X/Genesis/PSX for me.
