The best Markkanen trade is no trade. Instead, the Jazz should be looking to move Clarkson. The backcourt is way more crowded than the frontcourt. I'd even trade Clarkson to Detroit to get Fontecchio back.

Yup. Love Podz, but doubt he will ever attain all-star level. If you want to maximize Steph's final year or two of game-changing, bringing in a 7-footer all-star who gets you 22/8 game as a great second option who can space the floor, someone just getting to their prime? Add that to Dray, Kuminga, Melton, Buddy, Slo Mo, Wiggs, TJD, that's a good team that might have an outside shot. Worth it.

To get talent you have to give talent. As a Jazz fan I wouldn't trade Lauri to the warriors here is why. 1. Golden State can only offer 2 unprotected picks, and those picks are most likely in the 20s, late teens at best not a great return. 2. Moody is about to enter the final year of his contract and he still hasn't be able to consistently get into the rotation, not a lot of value there. 3. Podz while good isn't as good as everyone is hyping him to be. 9.2 ppg doesn't scream star player to me. 4. Kuminga showed a lot of promise this past year, still needs to work on his shooting though. and also in his last year of his contract. 5. Wiggins has no value to a rebuilding team, he's salary filler at best. 6. Lauri likes it in Utah allegedly, that's kind of hard to find talented players like him who want to be in Utah. 7. Yes Lauri has had injuries but honestly I think the Jazz held him out some of those games to get better draft picks. 8. Most 7 foot players can't shoot like Lauri. 9. Most 7 foot players are not agile enough to be able to play the small forward position, let alone being able to play power forward or center on top of that.
