10:28 A good strategy I've heard for pricing steam games is to price it a bit more than you normally would and then just put it on sale a lot
I've heard this as well, I do think it would work better for larger games, but I do currently sell the most copies on sale, thanks for the comment!
YESSSSSSSSSSS WTF BUNNY HILL IS SICK THANK U
thank you for the support!
crossplay+splitscreen on a dozen platforms. this looks very slick.
thank you! I want to do consoles, but I got rejected from Nintendo switch. It seems pretty hard to get on there, but I'm going to try for other consoles in the meantime!
@@dogma.questlog im blown away that you got rejected by nintendo considering the amount of shovelware on the eshop. then again... nintendo being nintendo...
I think you should change your game's Steam Thumbnail - it is the Worst game thumbnail I've ever seen and it smells low-effort, despite the game footage looking pretty decent
I think it is an awesome illustration that captures the game's atmosphere, it's okay to differ artistically though thanks for the feedback
@@dogma.questlog I think it's very different from the rest of the art (at least based on photos/videos), but of course, the decision is yours. And very nice that you can take feedback!
@@awesomegamedev that's a fair take, I appreciate your response
cant wait :)
yo thank you!
just casually mentioning that gupi did the music for game is wild
gupi is goated
I am the 1.000th sub haha
congrats on staying consistince
yo thank you!
Awesome video! The game is very interesting. Really like the idea of the level editor. That is very impressive. Also really like the art style of your game. Looking forward to your next devlog. Keep it up! :)
Thank you for the kind words!!
twikipedia
lets go, I was hoping someone would notice haha, I want to make a game and get a twiki ost, that's the dream
"Swag is objectively good" I'm in. Take my Like and Subscribe.
this is a swag encouraged place
I would love if you made a "how I did my 3d models" video where you cover what tools you used and so on. I like how clean your models are and how they look pixel art. I am also glad you are humble about feedback. Because god damn, I gave feedback to another indie dev and they blocked me from their reddit/steam forums because they didn't want ot hear feedback. which to me is just insane. and now ill never support that dev with my money ever again. future games? nope. gonna get the hard skip key. so im glad you aren't sticking your head in the sand like other solo game devs.
I'd like to make a modelling breakdown video sometime soon, some of my shorts have verrrry breif insight into my process there, but definitely need a full video. And that's very fair, it is a weird and hard balance to judge what should go in a game and what shouldn't, but all feedback is appreciated and I'd hope people would just accept some and move on haha no need to respond negatively to people trying to help! Thanks for commenting!
Nice video. I appreciated the transparency and marketing breakdown. Best of luck to you and your gamedev journey!
thanks for the well wishes and for watching the video!
This looks awesome, can't way to play!
thank you!
Can't wait to play it at some point :D
yo thank you! I'm excited to get people's feedback :)
swag devlog as always
thank you!
FINALLY, a game that prioritises swag.
we have been misguided for so long
very cool as always. will you be adding the bumpslash mechanic
I wasn't planning on it, characters with melee weapons will be able to aim them around, but I might add some sort of accessibility option akin to that! (edit: and thank you!)
keep going dude, with videos this swaggy you'll get to 10k wishlists in no time
yo thank you sincerely
now that we have a level editor we just need the level manager
yessirree needs to happen soon
this game genuinely looks fun
yo thank you fr, means a ton
Ayo new update droped
ayoo
Swag Howard
🙏😞
Lol
hey i am going to go buy the game but out of curiosity i use a steam deck a lot is there any compatibility
yo! the game is verified on the steam deck and cross platform cloud saves should work, steam deck should work great
@@dogma.questlog thank you so much i going to buy this game!!
@@charti1308 much appreciated !!
love the art style
yo thank you!
I love the art style, and that skeletons can just use random junk they find lying around. Systems like that could make some really cool emergent gameplay!
thank you! I'm hoping with more and more content / items in the game to plan in some cool interactions or even emergent puzzles along those lines
Monkey game
bloons td is goated
Just found this video at random. This game looks like the sort of stuff I spend a really good weekend on, do I bought it :)
yo thank you! I appreciate it :)
happy happy dragon

thank you slugcatmodder
Really loving the unique artstyle and devlogs overall :)))) keep up the good work!! Greetings from the basque country!!
thank you, I appreciate the support!
Thanks for the ASMR, also amazing game
thank you!
Damn dude keep it up
yo thank you boss
Yooo the new icon looks amazing!! I love the style of the game
yo thanks! I appreciate the support a ton!
This game feels like a story told by grandpa, old but in a mysterious and adventures kinda way. But I won't know until I play it!
I like that description a lot that's the sort of atmosphere I'm trying to go for! We will see if I can do it justice haha
I loveee the uncanny valley-ness feel of that dragon splash art. You have such a cool idea for a game I'll def wishlist it!
thank you, and that's very kind! I appreciate it!
looks great!
yo thank you!
are you gona make multiple bosses that rotate or 1 boss per area? static bosses or random bosses
I was thinking there would be a pool of 2 bosses per stage that would be selected from randomly just to mix it up, and maybe the selection of the boss would be influenced somehow by what upgrades you get etc. Maybe more to select from potentially as well
the look of content on that dragon makes it look like it came from a loving family of dragons that took care of each others well-being and let it have hopes and dreams
haha spot on
Good shit man
yo thank you boss!
I like the creepy splash art, makes the game stand out more. Quick question, what programming language did you use, normal gd script or c#?
I appreciate it!, I use c# since I used to use Unity, but I've dabbled with gd script before as well. So far haven't run into anything I can't do with c# in godot
@@dogma.questlog I actually want to make games as well! I’ve been experimenting with Godot (c# cause I was learning unity as well) and I was wondering if I could get some coding tips?
that's awesome, you got that for sure! yea sure what kind of stuff would you like to know, anything specific? I can give general tips too
@@dogma.questlog It's just resources for C# in godot are limited, at first I was working with unity but when it shit the bed I was one of the ones who moved, so far things have been working pretty well. I was just wondering what you did to learn so I can learn faster, like did you learn gdscript and then translate it to C# or did you do it another way.
@@kilejordan7047 Ah I see, I had some experience with GD script but in this case I have just been sticking to pure c#. The docs are super helpful for getting the proper way to do something from GD script to c# so I look at those a lot. Other than that I learned by trying things out and watching some tutorials as well. I also make tons of custom resources in c# which can open a lot of possibilities, you just make a new c# script and have it inherit from resource
This is so dope
thanks boss!
it's shaping up so nicely. excited for the demo!
Yo thank you! I have to make a ton of upgrades soon, I've been thinking of your comment about that a bit, hopefully I can do it justice haha. If you wanna test the demo before official demoing release let me know
Your art is fire! Love the lighting on the dragon. It has such great atmosphere
yo thank you!
I don't know what "It's a console game you can play on PC" means but it sounds like a toxic mindset tbh Two words: Steam Deck
What I meant by that is that it is a game designed to be played with multiple controllers at once, something that is more akin to a console than a pc, but I'm a big pc fan and I'm glad I made it for all pc platforms. I just think it's better suited to a console environment conceptually and would therefore potentially sell better where things like many controllers are more common. I think pc is becoming more and more relevant in "replacing" consoles but I would consider the steam deck a console in the grand scheme of things. Thanks for the comment
LMFAO nice outro and nice pixel shader the game reminds me of n64 snowboard kids which i really enjoyed back in the days.. you know what the best thing was for me at least it was the lift back up that would be my next feature developing your game and i think would add more depth to your game then you could have like rounds instead of just ride down once .. love your art style great job peace
snowboard kids is very cool haha, and I like the lift back up idea, that would be super cool!
would you have any tips on how to make the models of the characters you made? i love the style
yea for sure! I generally started with a plane in blender and turned on symmetry so I'm only modeling half of it. I think the most important factors were the silhouette so when you look at the edge of the model as you spin it around does the shape still look like a bunny or whatever you are trying to model, and then secondly the textures go a long way so the model doesn't have to be that detailed. I tried to keep it simple, and focus on the overall shape. Some of the characters where loosely based on stuffed animals or Christmas ornaments so it also can help to have something you can hold to spin around in your hand to work from in real 3D. If you go to brendanroarty.com/Page1.html you can scroll down and see them in t-pose if that helps and some of the older bunny hill devlogs and shorts on the channel have some shots of me modelling them that might help with showing triangle count etc. Also if you join my discord I'd be happy to give feedback tips on stuff you model if you are inclined in that way too. I've been meaning to make a modelling crash course kind of video just to get all the modelling stuff I do out there and see what people think or if others have tips to share too. Thanks for reaching out! hopefully this was helpful in some way haha
😴😴
Now this is a game with SOUL and STYLE! Definitely want to check it out one day
yo thank you!
plein air looks so fun. can't wait to start working on oil painting again
heck yea
this video is so nice man. feels like distant memories lol
yo thanks! I'd like to do more stuff like this for sure
