Interview with a punk rocker was filmed in Palm Springs in 2000. Below was the original intro for the interview when it appeared as text on Buddyhead.com. "Occasionally, the Buddyhead staff feels like we are once again out of touch with “the kids”. To remedy this we infiltrate their worlds by hitting the streets to catch up on their latest lingo, fashion styles, and favorite bands. Luckily whil...

In 2000 Buddyhead took Kristofer Steen from Refused, who had just moved to LA at the time, to The Fabulous Forum for a free metal show. It was free because it was for the filming of the Mark Walberg movie "Rockstar" so they could get live crowd shots and the bands weren't announced. We proceeded to ask everyone we saw who they were here to see and document our experience. Starring CC Deville of...

Buddyhead interviews Nate Manny & Spencer Moody of The Murder City Devils in 2000. I'm pretty sure this was filmed at Raji's on Hollywood Blvd, which later became The Bronson Bar, but my memory is foggy. Sorry the sound sucks so bad, I tried to fix it but it still sucks. Good old days when people watched bands and soaked up the experience .. instead in today's world when everyone pulls out there phones and records...
Metronome Arthritis is so fucking good, one of my favs by far this video is a gem!
Hell yeah. lets let this movie made.
this film will highlight an era and a set of characters who played a big impact on the cultural arena -- looking forward to seeing it get as wide a release as possible
That crowd sucked
These people experienced greatness! Like seeing the Beatles at the cavern club…
This is the most depressed Dallas has ever been
Ol mexi boy fucked up almost 100% of guitar parts
Good, but it ruined the band...mars volta sucks
I could never get into catacombs. I’m surprised it was ever a single and that they played it live so much
Floyd had mags
Mike D basically talking to Pharrell and disregarding Chad.
sad he looks strung out here. thank god he got help and made an amazing comeback. RIP legend
Thanks for posting this
Doing the lord's work.
Double grommet belts everywhere lol
At the drive in really gives El Paso Texas a good name ❤
This ain’t no PICK NIC BITTTCH LOL !!!!
the blonde at 20:00 in gets it.
July 2002?
incredible footage travis.
Slightly disconcerting that the drawing of Albini looks more like Heinrich Himmler...
What the fuck ish it with the interviewer? I’d kick him out of my room for talking like some shadowy goblin
You can tell hes just not confident with his english
Calvin stayed at my parent's house in North Dakota a couple of times. Once I left him the keys while I away in Minneapolis, and when my parents came back home, the only thing my mom noticed is that someone used the upstairs bathroom which was off limits.
So nice to see David in His element! Wish I was there! Thank you for sharing!
LOVE THIS
Que maravilloso el mundo de Lanegan. El último en su especie. Extrañándolo
know this is old, but would you happen to have any more Jimmy Eat World footage from this era? That Clarity era is just so damn great!
Wonderful!!! Black Sabbath, like Wu Tang, is for the kids.
I'll never understand why people go to shows and just stand stonefaced with their arms crossed in the front row. What a bunch of vibe killers
On the skag and on the blow haha
Wow headline records i saw alot of shitty bands there
What happend to gayrilla biscuts. Call the movie on the skag haha
I love when buddyhead used to give out numbers and called the marsvolta pink floyd meet geraldo
Great footage of Mark here. I was a fan for years and always struggled to find interviews of him. Towards the end of his life he became more engaging. His podcast with Joseph Arthur is great. Then we got his book/audiobook which is Just a masterpiece .It nearly felt like he was supposed to tell his story before he was taken from us. My god he really did smoke a lot. He quit for 10 years and started again a few years before he died. Not many details of his death were revealed to the public. He moved to Ireland and did some strange interviews during the pandemic which implied not all was well. His passing hurt.
Buddyhead in its prime, shit man, that changed my entire fucking life dude.
Can’t wait
It is understandable this little four-eyed Walter Mitty nerd would be seeking revenge by forming the world's loudest band and brutally damaging various audiences' hearing.
Vaccinated Vazis getting fuck'd.
Cool interview. RIP
So like, 20 years ago, I was in a band with the brother of The Juliana Theory's drummer. We were hanging out in their family's kitchen before heading to a show in Pittsburgh (we lived in Latrobe, PA). Neil, the drummer for The Juliana Theory at the time, made fun of me and my friends for going to see The Gloria Record. Something like "You're going to see an emo show, haha." I remember saying something like "You're in the fucking Juliana Theory." and he got mad and left, but he left his Nokia cell phone on the kitchen table. I went through it and found Brett Detar's phone number. That evening I posted it on the Buddyhead forums and I never logged back into that account. Years later, like 15 years later, I told a mutual friend about it. He literally dropped what he was carrying and said "That was you??? If he knew he would kill you. He hates you." because apparently this kicked off a bunch of phone calls and eventually led to the earpiece he wore on stage being stolen. Anyway, the statute of limitations on that has long passed and I still think of that from time to time as one of the things that made the old internet so much better than new internet.
😭😭😭😭😭😭
Thanks for conducting and posting this. Since there wont be any more interviews its great to see "new" interviews surface. Cheers and best wishes.

I have a theory that the guy with the blue-sleeved baseball tee time traveled to see this concert. He knows that Vaya EP way too well. All joking aside - thank you so much for capturing this. You are a gem. It's amazing to witness the band happily playing this material before their untimely demise.

You have to smile when, at 41 minutes, Kevin frickin’ Shields complains that his mix was too loud.
