Dear Carmine, thanks for the interesting presentation. Perhaps you find our recent research in the Academy of Management Journal interesting, where we show that CEOs' use of "visionary" communication in the form of metaphor might in fact backfire in a capital market context (while it is beneficial when talking to journalists). I talk about this study here: czcams.com/video/ICQiczaqADk/video.html In fact, in an even bigger study of almost 15,000 conference calls, which is currently under review, we (including a distinguished colleague from the University of Notre Dame) find that analysts respond especially negatively (in terms of changes in recommendations) when CFOs use so-called "charismatic" language. All the very best!

This is fascinating and shows how much progress has been made. I think the hard work of analyzing an issue, gathering information and formulating an argument using AI has been largely mastered. There is still a lot of room for improvement however. The voice to me sounds too synthetic and to me this interferes with understanding and evaluating the points made. I think the voice must be completely fluid and indiscernible from a human voice. I also found the structure of the machine argument weak in the first part of the debate, but the information it gathered throughout was very strong. What I found most interesting was that even though the human swayed more people's opinion the machine increased their knowledge on the subject. One would think that having more knowledge would lead people to the desired conclusion. I suspect people may have a hidden bias against the machine. I also don't like the format of the debate. I would like to see a free form debate where the machine decides for itself what position to take and forces the human to defend the opposite position. I also believe that either the human or the machine should be forced to concede a loss based on pure logic. I believe machines will be soon be able to completely outstrip humans in the ability to gather and analyse information to reach logical conclusions, optimize problems and perform risk analysis. Humans also seem to lack flexibility in being able to adapt to changing information and situations. I'm excited about the possibility that AI will be able to free mankind from its own biological limitations.

@ 2:05 if you can't get your idea out, it doesn't matter. Such a potent point to make. Part of the problem with that is that some of the most important ideas are very hard to package in a way that is easy to distribute on a mass scale - that, OR we just don't understand it well enough, like what to do to make technology ENHANCE our lives in the real world rather than addicting us to a screen.
