PART 4 OF 4. Finish with my Driver.
At 70 I'm basically retired. Healthy and active but I don't have the core strength I use to have. I don't have a home course anymore so I'm not on the range12 hours a day. I've become a weekend golfer with my lack of practice and play. So I had to change. I moved up to the white tees so I don't have to RIP DRIVES ANY MORE. I can get inside 160 easy & I'm as good a golfer from 170 as I ever was. I no longer wish to hit 5 irons into greens. I want to hit 6 max, prefer 7/8 or 9 for my game. Even with that there are day my body flat will not let me Coil to it Max and days my lower body and upper body won't 'Sync' at the speed it did when i was 50. I'm warming up, I make mistakes in these videos, you see them. I don't cut them out. What I'm trying to do is determine which Rhythm and Tempo (Speed) I can swing TODAY and get my upper and lower body to sync up at the ball so I can catch it DEAD SQUARE IN THE BACK. Knowing my limits gives me the confidence i can hit my drive where I want it off #1. Very important to me. As you'll see swinging 100% i never do. About 90 is my Max. Today about 80 was what allowed me to Sync Up. At 80% I still carry and roll out to around 260 and I can play that all day long. I still carry a 4 from the WHITE TEES. I can still putt.

This was easier when I was 30/40 even 50. Then I had a home course to teach from. Im ''OLD SCHOOL'. I learned to teach and taught for 25 years before Technology and Data. I bet Technical Teachers teaching indoors could almost read all the data before i could tell you what happened in flight just by looking at their divot. THERE'S DATA AS IT APPLIES TO THE GOLF SWING.... THEN THERE'S TEACHING TH...

Hogan was right, you want a good repeating golf swing there is only one way to get it. YOU DIG IT OUT OF THE DIRT. RHYTHM IS THE VERY SOUL OF GOLF.

Although i did this video for young Jack in Midland, Texas it applies to more than just a few. How I warm up. Not every day are you able to hit full shots. Not every day are you going to coil to your fullest. YOU HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO DETERMINE ON THE RANGE IN AN HOUR BEGFORE YOU TEE OFF WHAT YOUR BODY WILL LET YOU DO TODAY. You can't always GRIP IT AND RIP IT. This PART 1 is 56 degree sand wedg...

Forget all the digging in with your feet and blasting out. We are weekend golfers, we don't practice a lot so like me i'd suggest you just have a GO TO SAND SHOT you can get out with ease. Just a thought

Just some follow up with golfers learning. Important to continue to reinforce philosophy so we stay on the same page while discussing. These video will apply to many golfers the reason I post them for others to view.

Out on the range hitting, different thoughts come to mind golfers following might find interesting. . I ask myself, Dalton when you were learning how did it make sense to you? Lot of influence over the years, lot of knowledge. I SWEAR I've had the pleasure of playing golf and talking golf swing in the same breath since Nelson still playing, Snead still playing, Palmer, Player, Nicklaus they all...

This video is for Straight Shootin' Instructor Jeremy Irvin in North Carolina and his Golfer Dana. Jeremy sent me a video of Dana's swing. We discussed how to correct what he is doing. And basically what he is doing is controlling his swing with his right hand. His left is just along for the ride. GOLFERS, you play a left handed dominated game. It's a pull not a push. As my smart old Grandfathe...

Golfers, Golfers, Golfers. For the past 4 years I've posted nothing on my You Tube Channel. I've been dealing with injury's and diabetes. Diabetes literally ate me up. I lost nearly 50 pounds. The bad part of losing so much weight was the incredible loss of muscle mass. So much so that I became incredibly weak. Had a lot of access skin as my muscles shrunk. I tried to keep teaching without post...

THIS IS A VERY REVEALING ANGLE TO VIEW MY GOLF SWING. How I hit the golf ball DEAD STRAIGHT. Standing as tall as I could while swinging as upright as I could possibly swing does have it's advantages over someone who swings flat. I play 5 degrees toe up but that is a little confusing for golfers who follow me as they go out and bend their club up where mine are which doesn't work for everyone as...

So it looks like Phil Mickelson still hasn't seen this video 😂
That wrist breaking practice move looks more like a right handed controlled swing. Am I missing something ?
That’s awesome
You dont know shit fr and im thumbs down 🤣
Love his instruction!….have his vhs tape…just getting back in to golf after teaching overseas the last ten years…so happy I found him on you tube for a refresher
Never gets old.
Love this guy’s energy!! Loved this video
❤
If you put the camera on a spring you could get it to bounce around a bit more 😅
DALTON MCCRARY,,,,,,,,bought your videos 25 years ago,,,lol. you still in DFW??? for the less ROTUND,,,,,do you still teach keep you hands by your money (right pants pocket) on the downswing?? best wishes,,,,,steve craig
Hey Dalton, is there still a way to get a copy of the original tapes?
The first time i ever broke par I shot 3 under at Recreation Park (Big Course) with 1967 Sam Snead irons counting "one and roll". I hit every fairway and 16 greens. I ended up playing the Golden State Tour in California with 4 wins. 20 top 10's and passed the PGA P.A.T. Thank you Dalton!!!
One and roll, baby!!
Another great program my friend. Be well.
This inspired me to try golf again !! The pro has such a love and great energy! I watch this video when I need a positive feel for the love of the game and life in general!!
Dalton, GREAT segment with Bruce. Your teaching skills are second to none. As you are getting older and realising the body limitations some of are stuck with you have just become an even better instructor. As I previously told you, I have your 1998 VHS tapes but no longer have an old VHS player. I appreciate you so much for allowing me to watch them on DropBox. You are the best and we will meet someday soon. Steven Good
great stuff, but could you show us, (then are turning it over like that.... then doing this...)?
Dalton, are you still around?
Good stuff
Hit it with a long iron and see what happens and LISTEN to the ball flying
Wonder what yardage Dalton had on each iron?
Let me put it to you this way. Off the rack clubs are preset on 10 or 12 yard increments from the factory. Guess why? Not one player on tour plays with stick that or 10/12 yard increments. Nicklaus was on 19, Tiger was on 19 as most players are. What you say???? Coming into a par 4 the longest club I want to hit into a green is a 5 iron. I need that 5 iron to carry 200 yards and I hit it about 175. So we rolled out a tape to 200 and I started hitting balls, range balls and Henry-Griffitts started bending my 5 iron till I carryed it 200. Then they matched all my clubs to the 5 iron. So my sticks are setting on 19 yard increments. That's 7 yards extra. PW-9iron-8iron = 3X7=21 yards. I'm going to hit my 7 iron at least 21 yards further than you do simply by the way my clubs are set up. ------------------ Oh was that an eye opener... Clubs not going as far as you think they should, well by God, we can bend them so they do go as far as you think with less effort too. I only played golf for 35 years before I learened that little gem.
Dalton - Ive watched the old VHS tapes and the new video shot at Top Golf. Working on the swing -One-and-roll. How can we reach you now days?
daltonstr8golf@gmail.com or text me 972-983-3331. I'll get back to you.
Hey Dalton, how can we get a hold of you these days?
I could watch you all day long. So easy and smooth.
i still have dalton's no drop swing practice aid and use it all the time, it promotes his early release type swing and helps to learn the wrist move, kinda like a snap. i also still have one of the tapes that shows dalton swinging over and over and his mantra.....'one and roll'. i also have the mini booklet guide that came in the package. he teaches an easy to learn swing that's easy on the body and kinda looks like a payne stewart or fred couples type swing that uses more arms and wrists and not so much body rotation.
Steve, super, you have it all. You'll like thses videos. They are as good as the original. Thanks for hanging in there with us. Dalton
Hi dalton just a quick one I have my clubs 4° toe up and has changed my game your teaching is amazing but I do still hit my woods slightly off do you ajust them or are they standard thanks
Hi Dalton, I have had a problem setting up. My feet are always 30-40 yards right of the target so my setup is closed big time. However, that's how I feel square. When my feet are square to the target I feel 30 degrees open and hit huge pulls! Is my body just so used to pulling from being so closed? I am a mess right now, please any words? Thanks
Hi Dalton, been a big fan of your teachings over the years and with your help play off 9…just wanted to ask about rhythm, I’ve definitely worked out that I play much better when I don’t think about mechanics on the golf course,….would you advise just thinking about the one n roll as I’m hitting my shots?
Great Program.
Another great program my fiend. Be well.
Great lesson Dalton. I think ive been taking it too far inside. Probably why I shank it sometimes. Any thoughts on the Mike Austin swing? I have been trying to model my swing to his for some time. I actually just bought a vcr just to watch all your old videos. Be well friend!
Epic video thank you for your contribution to the game of golf 😁
RIP Tony Manzoni
You have a great channel
I just keep coming back to this video and watch at the 5 min mark for a refresher. 5/2023
Hello dalton, I have been following your system for a while now and I think it’s great for my irons. But for all of my woods I pull everything left a lot. My fairway woods I too a lot. Is there a cure for this
Hi Dalton, Another great video! I just got myself a buggy tyre to practice with but wanted to know what you are using to pack it (ie the yellow stuff) as mine isn't quite as flat to strike against.
I have been following your teachings for many years. My copy of your straight shooting video system is so worn out now but I can still watch it. I recently ordered the new DVD (as didn't realise you made one) and got my trusty buggy tyre ready to practice in the back yard after a few years of not playing. However I gasped at 3.17 when you actually missed a shot and went "Oh Jesus Christ. don't look up!". It's nice to know the Master can still make the odd mistake!! 😁
Where did you get the DVD version?
@@peterparker5166 Well not the same as the VHS. There are only 5 lessons and TBH you can find the same content online. I was disappointed as thought it would be the straight shooting system in DVD format.
We need to make sure FJBiden doesn't get a second steal
We need to make sure your kind never ever attacks this country again you traitor
Sad indeed, the experiment that was the United States has failed
How are you doing? Do you ever have your thumb what appears on top of the club shaft ! I noticed when I spin the HG name vertically down from eye sight, thumb appears on top and the club face seems a few degrees open at address, but I hit the ball more solid as I go through to follow through.
I had the VHS 📼 in the late 90's. It helped me stay sane and enjoy the game.
have you ever thought about using a lapel microphone? It's hard to hear.
Hi Dalton hope you are keeping well, I do like your videos and I use to have the old VHS Straight Shooting Golf, which was my bible back in the 80s, the tape unfortunately broke many moons ago but I would love to watch it again. Have you still got the tapes and are they available to download. From an avid follower from a small country called wales in the UK.(Ian Woosnam Country). Thanks
Henry Cotton would embrace your teaching
Worked on shoulder to shoulder today at the course. Made such a huge difference. Still pulled a few but when done right the ball flight was on a rope. Nice and straight.
Is there a way to get a digital version of the video series?
Why didn't you put left wrist cock in video you old one and roller
