They mainly exist for those people that are desperate for the money. They know that if you turn up, then they will offer you silly money and see what you say.

Very good capable cars, id recommend a manual to anyone thinking of getting DSG. These handle better than golf rs and s3s look better than them and move quicker when stock. Off the lights...i only had a few goes from stand still, most my races already rolling or in 3rd gear down lanes.

Great video, very informative. I got my Jaguar XF valued by WBAC and when I ignored them, they increased the price twice more. It started at £13,835 then went to £15,000 and finally £15,265. I sold it through Motorway for £16,058.

It’s all about expectations, if you’re honest with the description of your car and happy with the valuation then stick to your guns. I used Motorway and it turned out really well due to the fact that I was honest and the dealer that won the auction was very fair. Ended up getting £k over the original valuation.

Highway men. I contacted them with regards to my Rover Freelander. I mean my car was beautiful condition with a full NI MOT. They offered me £1200 I declined. Over the next few day they bombarded me with emails, we want your car, here's a higher offer. I declined. I sold my very nice well cared for Freelander privately for £3300 a couple of days later. They wouldn't have found a fault with my car. Would never communicated with them again. The person who purchased e car said he feel in love with it before he even got near it. He was more than happy with the price and did not haggle.

This happened to me a few years ago. My one and only dealing with We Buy Any Car was to sell my own car. I was buying another new car and the idea was to go to the dealer with a cash deposit and try and get a better deal. I had a 7-year-old Seat Toledo hatchback bought from new. It was a few years ago and I can't remember the exact mileage but it was OK for a 7-year-old car. As usual someone let a trolley hit my car and the edge caused a small ding in the back nearside door. Apart from that there was no major damage at all and the body, paintwork and interior were in excellent condition. I filled in the online paperwork and got an offer of £2200 for the car. So, I arrived at the nearest centre and the guy did the usual checking over with a fine-tooth comb. The first thing he asked me was if there were two sets of keys. At the time, having one key only really devalues the car as they have to get a complete ignition system fitted because of the anti-theft device in the car, something about a chip being fitted to the inside of the key. Maybe things have changed now. After going over the car I was told there were so many small chips caused by stone damage that he was going to take £600 off the price I was quoted online. He said that We Buy Any Car takes off £40 per chip. After some haggling, he agreed to take 'only' £400 of the price of £2200 leaving me with £1800. Really the stone chips were to be expected on a 7-year-old car. The salesman even admitted to me that the car was in perfect condition for its age. Haven't used them since then, preferring to try and get a good deal from the car salesman.

They are after "perfect" cars and deduct for scratches, dinks, keys etc. Last year I sold my 3 year old Duster to them for the online quoted price which was £1,000 more than I'd paid for it a year earlier from a dealer. So my experience was a good one.

Of course they are going to knock you down....they assume that if you're going there all other options are out or the seller is to lazy/inconvenienced to explore them You have to put in some work for maximum selling price or accept less than its worth. A dealer wants a mark up which is why many people put in the time to sell privately. Some are extremely difficult to sell because they are out of economics or fashion. I don't believe they will buy any car which is why local dealers will reject some...many cars are just not cost effective to repair issues at the price point... unless its a scrapper.....when they will still build in a profit on scrap value.

I was happy enough going down the WBAC route even though I ended up taking £400 less than the online quote. Tried to sell it privately but ended up fielding countless AF scammers who offered double what I was asking for in return for a “small arrangement fee.” The two people that did turn up to see the car were obviously dealers who were looking to get it on the cheap. One of them actually claimed I was more less obliged to sell it to him even though he offered a quarter of the asking price. His reasoning was that I’d put ‘ono’ on the advert and, in the absence of any other offers, his was the nearest. Upon my refusal he then had the nerve to moan that I had wasted HIS time. I may have lost a few hundred selling to WBAC but it was worth it to avoid that grief.

I work for BCA. We get 100’s of WeBuyAnyCrap everyday. You will pay for the convenience of getting rid of your car quickly. If the bloke says we need to respray this, or repair that, ITS ALL RUBBISH. Every WBAC gets a basic RAC check and an external wash, THAT IS IT ! If you leave any crap in the car, it will be sold with that crap, usually to Cinch (. BCA own Cinch as well, and Lex Autolease and now Manhein Auctioneers ) . The absolute bare minimum is done before the car is sold on, at a profit.

Reading the comments: So many confident opinions, using guesswork & pulling repair/paint figures out of the air 🤣 this is why WBAC exists, to buy from people who don’t know or understand the car trade. All WBAC vehicles are sold through BCA (car auction), they are sold ‘unseen’ to car traders. It’s a great business model, it was a bargain at £64m in 2013, considering the lady who runs it for bca got over £20m just as a bonus last year.
