Hi Dr.Corte! Just want to ask that i am doing my 5 year optometry program from Pakistan and want to practice in US so do i have to study in optometry school for four years again or i can also jump through the optometry bridge program?
Good afternoon! I've been watching several different videos from multiple content creators, which has sort of been growing my interest in the field. I've decided that I wanted to commit to the schooling and hopefully come out with my O.D. My predicament is that I'm currently enlisted in the ANG and I'm working 12 hour shifts on base (full time) in an area that disallows technology with cameras and wifi connectivity. From your experience thus far, do you think online schooling would be a good idea? I've looked into online schools with the course prerequisites I need for the optometry school I've chosen but am still trying to tell myself it will be worth going through with. Of course, there are still unspoken variables at play but as far as the time I have outside my job and less access to the sources I may need. In short, I guess my question is, comparatively to in person schooling for undergrad/graduate courses, would online schooling be worth the effort?
i am from Pakistan can j apply as an optometrist
Unfortunately, no. You’d have to obtain a degree and license in the USA.
This is really a helpful information. Thanks Dr
You’re welcome!
Is this possible to get with a high prescription -8.00 toric lenses
Yes
Work at a VA right now, no need to worry about any insurance 😂
That’s one way to practice insurance free!
I work at Costco so I don’t really have a choice. I like the job, but I can’t spend those weekends with my family like I used to.
Is it possible to work some weekends and hire someone to cover other weekend days so you’re not working every weekend?
@@RyanReflects unfortunately no, everyone works weekends here and every now and then you get Sundays off. But you can’t really enjoy it like when you get both Saturday and Sunday off.
10 years was worth it mate

Helping people get out of myopia is a great specialty.
There is absolutely value in myopia control!
It depends what is the last time you did with it for example you were filling it but the halfway through which is half full or if you emptied it halfway through it's half empty
Thank you for sharing!
Jessica Starr simply couldn’t bear life after surgery 😢

4 years college. 4 years OD school. Expense is great. I chose Electrical Engineering.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Dr Ryan, A great idea. I am willing to do it. I will buy the equipment, and you can guide me. That would be a wonderful scientific effort for both of us!!
Definitely something to look into at your state optometry level
Think?
🤔
I can’t seem to remember any appointments and when I write it down I can’t remember where I wrote it. I’m extremely unorganized but spend all my time organizing.
Start simple and add them to a physical or virtual location where you organize your day to day calendar 📆
I have surgery in 4 days wish me luck and prayers

I am currently in the dilemma where I cannot find a job in my current state, but I was offered a great paying job with good opportunities to further my career in another state, but I would know no one there. I’m really considering taking it and going, but I’m scared of missing my friends and family.
You never know unless you take the leap of faith and explore! The good news is, you can always return home.
Looks like we’ve got some central serous going on at the OCT!
We treat and manage all kinds of anterior and posterior segment ocular disease!
My only worry is that it seems that going to med school would make so much more money. Thoughts on this?
You can make money in any career path. If you’re only in it for the money, optometry is probably not the best profession to consider.
It's not supposed to! You probably did it in your 20's and now your prescription stabilized. Your surgeon did not overcorrect you and you now think your LASIK faded. Which it did not. It cannot. Laser eye surgery is permanent. It is forever. I had my LASEK with Dr Chynn 12 years ago (in my 20's) and am still seeing better than 20/20.
Hi sir I would like to know some details regarding optometry. If I compleat B optometry from India and I come to canada for pursuing M optometry what are the furthur procedures to become doctor of optometry pls reply

I'm trying multifocal contacts ...I can't wait for the real toric ones to come in then maybe it will be better but I don't want monovision
There are two main stream multifocal toric contact lenses - ultra multifocal for astigmatism and biofinity multifocal toric. Both are viable solutions for you to consider!
Am actually doing my degree in optometry 2 year currently, are their any opportunities to find work in the USA

can i spend 4 to 6 hours in a day for myself or my passion ? will i have extra time for my passion?
Sure!
Hai.. I have Albinism (OCA) from Africa who has a passion for this field but as u are aware of our poor sight secondary to lack or less melanin production .. Am I able to practice well if I decided to go this route??.. Currently I am a Clinician (like a PA) and I ride a motorcycle with ease at 60 to 80km/h. Please Please reply to this 🙏

increasing my glasses but i still can't cleary see after 1 month ,are my eyes telling me to don't too much see the truth ?
Tried a multifocal lense and didnt like it so did monovision for the last year and its messed me up big time. Seeing double and depth perception issues. Pondering giving another go with multifocal
Definitely give it another try!
Qualification required for enrollment in specialization programs?
Just a doctor of optometry degree.
Great content doc.
Thank you!
I've been told by my childhood eye doctor that I would be the perfect candidate for LASIK since my vision hasn't changed in years(this was a few years ago i think it has changed a bit tho but I am older so it's bound to happen), I came across your video doing research and I have to ask, do you think you only got your complications due to your dry eyes? I'm sorry that they ingored your issues and coaxed you into it anyway.
Unfortunately the major employer in my town is going under and I am going to be forced to potentially move. Grrrr. I have moved for a job 3 times and have come "home" each time... that "should" tell me something, BUT, the older generations of my family are mostly gone, many friends and family have moved away, not sure what is anchoring me to this area anymore other than my house is paid off, hate of change and comfort of knowing my area. Each time I have moved to a new area it has been so exhilarating and fun, but needs of family keep drawing me back... maybe it is time I need to walk away and let them make it or not on there own...
I can imagine how frustrating this is. You got this! Thank you for sharing.
Bro emoted
😂
❤I'm doing first year Optometry its really cool. Especially the practical part. Love it ❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
Keep up the great work! 👏
I have used Precision 1, Alcon and they were great. But now i use Baush & Lomb Soflens, they are amazing. I wonder why didn't you mention those.. 🤔
They feature older, less impactful technology and are no longer supported.
Thanks for the information, please suggest a few more as some of them aren't available in my country.
Was on the fence but bit the bullet today - glad to see you had a laptop in there (what I was worried about). Also, really glad to see I'm not the only one who wraps my shoes even if they have designated pockets/compartments. How some people just toss their shoes in is beyond me.
The newest design appears to have fixed some of the original design’s shortcomings. I have yet to see it in person but it’s worth looking into
❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤️
Soft skills. Not everyone comes by them naturally. I pity those. lol
They can be make or break tho!
Tbf, around middle age is when you start to need reading glasses anyway. I wouldn't consider this a bad thing.
