A Medieval Court Lady's Gown - Tackling the Mock-Up!
Hey there, in today's video, I'm diving into my "pile of shame" - you know, those projects we start with so much enthusiasm but somehow end up tucked away. 🙈 I'm pulling out my last year's big project, a medieval gown, and giving it another shot. Spoiler alert: it's been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, from wonky pattern pieces to unexpected sleeve issues. But hey, that's just part of the journey, right?

    Thats honestly a very nice bag well done. Also great inspiration for my own with the decorative thread going across the fabric. Do you have any examples for male purses like these too? Or were these worn equally for men and women?

      Thank you! The purses for man I found are more like the one I made in this video: czcams.com/video/ekLSsB1ai3k/video.html The ones made of textiles seem to have been worn closer to the belt than those worn by woman, and the closing mechanisms are more elaborate than the simple drawstrings, too. I assume, that the "simple" drawstringpurses were mostly worn by woman.

      Hi, Sehr cool, dass du dich daran machst! Leider habe ich das File nicht mehr, ich habe es leider auf einer jetzt nicht mehr nutzbaren Platte gespeichert. 😐 Ich habe damals aber auch nur den originalen Schnitt genommen und gleichmäßig größer skaliert und dabei darauf geachtet, dass der Taillenumfang dem meinem entspricht. Und natürlich, dass Brust und Hüfte weiter sind als mein Maß, denn auffüllen kann man immer noch. Das hat ziemlich gut funktioniert.

    One of the reasons I love your channel so much is we have similar body types. Too often I find myself having to completely re make a pattern because it’s too small in the chest; or fits the chest, but is so large everywhere else it looks as though I’m wearing a giant sack. All store patterns are made for B cups. I find it frustrating because I don’t know any women with a B cup. I think C is average in the USA. I would still make adjustments, but doubt it would be so severe. So, thank you for being you just as you are ❤. When the Victorian Jumper/Sweater was popping up all over the internet, I looked at the pattern and nearly cried finding out it was made for 34” bust. Fortunately, I know the sweater maths formula and made sleeves as written. It’s simply frustrating, not impossible. There are bigger problems in the world right now. I’m just grateful for the bit of relief and comfort I find in your channel.

    • @ankanyofficial
      @ankanyofficial Před 4 měsíci

      Thank you for your kind comment! I have the same problem with the size of store bought patterns. That's why almost never by one. That of course isn't easier either, but I feel less frustrated by the fact that I have bought something, that isn't right from the get go. After some time I found, that I can reuse patterns and knowledge from earlier adjustments, so that it gets easier. It really makes me happy, that my channel gives you some kind of comfort! ♥️
