    Your comment on the seats make no sense - I have them and the bolster has a power adjustment - as for the height that is every seat - completely disagree on the comfort - they are some of the best modern seats for all around driving and spirited driving - apologies but they way you spec’s your car is at complete odds with itself - it is clear why you ‘flipped’ it

    This video is gold for anyone configuring a 992. A couple thoughts; I have a hunch that the bang-for-buck could have been missing on the full leather and race-tex headliner because of everything being all black. Any material in black is the most subdued you can get. If it was in slate grey, Bordeaux red, or truffle brown, I think leather/race-tex vs standard becomes a lot more noticeable. So yeah, if sticking with black, probably good advice to keep it basic. For the sunroof, if the big issue is too much exterior color and you want to break it up, keep the standard roof and then just get it black vinyl wrapped after delivery. Thanks for your honesty with all this. It’s such good information for all the people out there that are considering a 992.

    Had the exact same build, with a couple extra options. I have to say, I wasn’t in love with it and got rid of it after 6 weeks. Plus, I didn’t lose a penny, just wasn’t for me.

      @Rennthusiast Před dnem

      Sounds like what I did. Porsche makes some GREAT, PHENOMENAL products but I just found the 992 itself wasn’t for me. What’s interesting is how much criticism I have gotten because the options I chose “ruined” the character of the T. Options or no options, the 992 is what it is. I feel like the critics don’t truly know what a driver’s 911 is so they think subtleties like a glass roof or 18 ways negate the intent of the T. lol.

    Agreed 100%, the 992 fascia’s are ugly af. I have a 991.2, and it’s such a more elegant and beautiful look to me. The Sport Design package is a must for me with the 992, and to get black pieces you have to get gloss and it costs over $6k! There is no way they can get me to trade my 991.2 T in for a new one! Mine was $116k MSRP, has LWBS optioned, came standard with race Tex roof ($1500 option 992), good looking front/rear fascia no need for $6k Sport Design, and a couple other options. When I spec a 992 T it comes out over $140k! Madness, just not worth the $ to me. I have a brand new Taycan 4S that was $145k MSRP, so I’m willing to spend the $ for the right car, but a T isn’t worth it to me at that price when I just got one a couple of years ago for so much less that is a better looking car with better driving experience (IMHO).

  • @joeracer302
    @joeracer302 Před dnem

    My Taycan 4S has all the upgrades: full leather, full tech, big brakes, big wheels. It’s a daily driver for 80 mile commute in Los Angeles. My Carrera T has LWBS, standard T interior (gray stitching), slick top, and Bose stereo. It’s a weekend car for trips to wine country or blasts in the canyons. Buy the trim and spec it for your use case. You bought a T but wanted and need an S, which is why you tried to spec the T into an S.

    Curious if you would have just done a simple tune or piggy back would you have been happier with the performance? [note: starting to do my research for my first Porsche so don’t know if there is a “piggy back” option] Lastly, on the “wind problem” … I have obviously never had a Porsche but I have had multiple cars with “sun roofs”. I say this that this “sun roof” feature is really intended for just cruising around at probably no more than 40 mph around town. And the “buffeting” regardless of car and tricks like open the windows in a certain configuration to get less buffeting is false… I don’t blame you for wanting the glass roof and since you are not racing it I too would have ordered it that way… I think it is just like you said “new car fever”. Thank you for the honesty. It certainly helped.

    I bought a 992 C2S about the same time you bought your T. I had the ability to get an allocation for either T or an S. I went with the S with all of the performance add ons. Performance was most important and I thought why not go with the extra power. Some say it’s too much power and takes away from the fun of ‘driving a slow car fast”. I couldn’t disagree more. The S isn’t ’too much’ power and feels right to me. I’m so glad to hear your bottom line was you would have gone with the S. In researching my decision, I couldn’t find an equivalent S/T comparison. That is the real decision. I wish more would talk about it vice drooling over the T. Thanks for your honest review and opinions. I feel a lot better about my decision.

    The 2024T is one of the funnest 911 cars, feels analog to me and if I want more exhaust notes, $4500 isn’t much. If I want more power, I’ll get a $2k tune and add another 120hp. I love my 2024T. I got 4 way seats and No sunroof or RAS. RAS on a T doesn’t seem right but that’s just me. You did test drive the car before you dropped $150k? Awesome review Will! Best review of all 992 out there. About time you came to your senses. I had reservations about you when you optioned her out but you have redeemed yourself and earned yourself a subscriber now. Thank you for your honesty. Must understand that there is a reason why these reviewers on the podiums talk so highly of the Carrera T. You think Porsche would invite them or fly them out to review their cars in the future? Pay for their trips to Spain or Germany and have them bash their cars? There is a lot of bias and then someone like you comes along and question and dispel that. Did you notice how many Carrera Ts are turning back up on the dealer showrooms with a couple of thousand miles. Read below on your comments and notice some of the folks who have talked about their friends/associates returning these cars. The ethos of the Carrera T is a chair, MT, steering wheel and an engine. You realized that the sum of all the options you went for did not reflect the value of how much you paid for the car. Not to mention you would have had to make additional investment to make it right. You were not happy with your purchase and that was your exit sign. Simply put if you have to make adjustments to the car, whether it be a ecu remap/ exhaust/ buffeting issue/ seating issue or anything like that on $150k car….. then you have the wrong car. Fascinates me how some people get these cars and have no problem putting in another $10k into it. Then again how many would actually fess up to the fact that they made a wrong purchase. Out of pride most will never cave and admit. Porsche engineers are meticulous and carefully think through in their concepts of each flavored ice- cream in the 992 line up. I believe in full turnkey with not aftermarket adjustments whatsoever. If you have to do that, then you have already purchased the wrong vehicle. Remarkably funny how they talk about it being light where the disparity is roughly about 50lb from a Carrera S - like you are really going to feel that. I am sorry but I am not going to spend that type of money - have the insulation removed so I can hear all the chatter of the rocks on the underbelly/ lightweight glass that is prone to small chips and a lightweight battery. Not to mention $150k for a 379hp vehicle. I am still kicking the can down the road waiting to see how the 992.2 fairs.

  • @thomasschimmeyer8715

    For a T? Color is subjective but my build would be a Gentian Blue. Only listing selected options the rest are standard. Leather interior in black, come on standard interior is cheap feeling. Sport design side skirts, this one exterior addition changes the look a ton. Deletion of model designation and decal on door, the car is for me to drive who cares if they know what it is. Rear axle steering, it is like having a wizard in the ass end. Preparation for dashcam, get both for proof in court. Ambient lighting, besides the leather this is the biggest boost to the interior. Finally, Bose stereo for better sound.

  • @afoolandhismoneychannel

    The SportDesign Package is a must for the 992... the massive squared-off black expanses on the front and rear of the car just ruin the styling.

    It sounds like your funds were semi limited. Any man/woman who is driving a 911 is a fortunate individual..So, to hear you complain about leather or non leather, 18way seats, Aero kits… The BS about the rear wheel steer, that something that usually gets reviewed under a test drive. I found this review to be reductive, and banal. You kept this car for 3000 miles.. you didn’t really get to break it in..this. - PASS!!

    • @Rennthusiast
      @Rennthusiast Před 2 dny

      I don’t like to respond to negative comments so I won’t 😄 According to Porsche, you are out of break in after 1800 miles. 3000 miles minus 1800 miles = 1200 miles driven by me *after* break in.
