Troy, great work, as usual. I read through the comments and you’ve meanioned a few times that 24p hasn’t caused any overheating. That’s my only concern with getting an a7iv as a stills camera/b cam for video. My a cam is fx3. After almost a year, are you still able to record without any overheating issues? Thanks man

IBIS was mentioned but what about one the most important things, Color Science? I don't own either, but after looking at hundreds of our hours of footage from both and hearing comments, I don't think I would want to color correct jaundiced skin tones every time. Even videoing grass, it looks yellowy green. I am still probably getting the S5 ii, even after this video. To me the one big thing Sony has going, is the large choice of lenses.

at the end of the day, when some one make a movie, they ask "who make it ?" first ... and maybe then "what gear that he use ?" so gear up with what you got now, make some masterpiece ...

Why no real footages and practical examples?

As someone with the a7siii and the s5iix both cameras actually compliment each other well as a a-b cam set up... now if they can have a baby I'd be so happy.

"UV" is a misspelled "VU". That's one of the things I don't appreciate about Shenzhen manufacturers, that they handle language so sloppily and pay too little attention to proper translation, grammar and spelling. By the way: the delay of the wired HDMI connection from the camera to the monitor unfortunately makes the m1 unusable as a camera monitor as far as I'm concerned. I do see a role as a possible client monitor, but there are also other wireless alternatives for that.

The priorities matter. And the "overheating" may mean either the "single-film" time, or "you literally can't use camera until it cools down". I've got myself in a trouble, because had mistaken first for second in EOS R6. R6 overheated and needed a cooldown 6 times at one project. And now - no expensive FF camera without cooling will be my choice. But I am very interested in S9 tbh. Want to see the progress of sensor technology and passive camera body cooling overall. All said - Your priorities matter. Godspeed!

All the sony cameras I have used got overheat recording HD on dual SD slots, on a warm day, this is why we need that fan !

Fantastic video! The titles are great! Actually, I am considering buying this monitor right now. I have a Sony ZV-E10, which is a tiny camera, but I still would like a big 7-inch screen to view every shot clearly. Would a 7 inch be too big for a tiny mirrorless camera? Or is it fine as long as the camera rig doesn't need to be compact.. Thanks!

Your video is great, but at this point is not "definitive answer" as the Lumix 3.0/2.0 (S5 II/IIX) firmware upgrades change the camera's performance "drastically" (not an exaggeration) for free. Might be time to update?

I currently have several Sony cameras A7siii, a7Riv and the A7iv and have owned many Sony cameras previously because I invested in Sony glass and have always been a Sony fanboy but I also have the s5iix and a bunch of black magic cameras and love the Panasonic because I get braw with autofocus and image stabilization. The s5iix is an amazing tool all of these cameras can get the job done except the A7iv. It overheats like crazy at the worst times. Do not buy and do not listen to any reviews of people telling you to buy if you do video. It overheats in 3 minutes down here in Florida. It’s the only Sony I’ve ever had a problem with. Do not use on any paid shoots. It will let you down if you use 4k 10 bit. 4k 10 bit is unusable might as well buy a $2500 brick with the words 4k 10 bit etched into the stone. My DJI pocket 3 does 4k 10 bit with no problems. No brainer get the Panasonic.

I always go for composition but with taking to mind any natural or motivated light that may be present. Great video!

I've used ONE Sachtler Tripod throughout my 15 years lasting TV production career, did anything bad to it you shouldn't do and sold it for almost the price I got it for (around 4k). The app is bad! It doesn't connect to my slider and head. App doesn't see devices. I wrote to the manufacturer. They are silent...

Great video, I would like to ask you whether you changed from C70 to fx3? I just bought a C70 and rf15-35. Frankly speaking, I am a little envious of the lightness of the fx3 and the lens group of Sony, but the colors of Canon seem to be more cinematic.

Sony gave you a mega discount on the cam and lenses? The SOny lenses are a bit better but twice the price.

great video ! question about output on display - i had a OSEE 5 plus and the signal from my Canon 70d does not display fully on the monitor - would this monitor be the same with the output from my canon 70d ? just want to get the full image displayed on the monitor..thank you
