What kind of Triereme is this? An 'Earlymodern Revival'? or is it even a 'trireme'? since it has frontal cannons. and rear cabin of Earlymodern style and not Classical Era. I'm not even sure if these kind of triremes did join Great Northern War in 1700s? since it was the great last war involving the use of galleys.

Hello, that's a very nice job. I'm wondering if you could help me with building instructions for a 1/12 scale model of this same yacht ? I purchased the kit and it didn't provide them. Having a hard time building just looking at pictures. Hope you can help Thanks
Sorry, this model was scratch built by one of our members who has sadly passed away. I do now have the model but do not have any build instructions. If you want close up photos of any part of the model I could provide those, email me at info@srcmbc.org.uk . However your kit is going to be different from this model. Possibly a book on model boat building might provide some help?

Does the small scale allow upwind travel closer to the true wind? Close hauled in the middle of the video it appears to be maybe 20 degrees off, almost directly upwind.
That's an interesting question! Being small, the maximum hull speed will be small and therefore the relative wind direction will not be brought forward as much as if it were a larger boat going faster, so perhaps the answer is yes. However I'm not sure how you are determining the true wind direction. The flag will be affected by the wind off the sails and if not that, it will show the relative wind. With the variable winds over the pond the waves are not a good guide either.
@@srcmbc I was looking at the flag and you're right it's in the field deflected aft by the sail, which I didn't think about. As far as the relative wind (on the overall boat, not just the sail deflection) I think since the boat speed is a tiny fraction of the true wind, the relative wind wouldn't be different from the true wind by more than a negligible amount. (Edit: I re-read your post and you already said essentially the same thing as my last sentence)
@@FlyNAA the other factor is that the sails are very stiff compared to real sails so the boat may be luffing up to some extent but it is not noticeable when viewing the video.
