S.S (Steam Ship) Titanic
It would have been renamed R.M.S. (Royal Mail Service) in about a month (May 20th 1912) but it never made it.
It was carrying mail on it's maiden voyage and the dish plates, writing materials and such things did say R.M.S., but unfortunately when launched until the sinking it was named the S.S. Titanic.

I thought the Titanic proceeded at full speed, and also that the Titanic hited the iceberg on its starboard side. If it would be directly at the ship's bow, it would never sink.
But still, it's not easy to do that.
