Hogan Accelerates Valmont Leadership Development
This client testimonial explains how Hogan has accelerated leadership development at Valmont by connecting personality assessments with business metrics. Hogan Assessments helps build better leaders using deep, detailed personality assessment data for leadership development.
Using Hogan’s assessments, feedback, and coaching, Valmont Industries leaders learned a shared language for leading more effectively and improving team dynamics. Hogan personality data can provide insights to individuals and teams to enhance leadership effectiveness across the whole organization.
“Taking a psychological skill and connecting it to actual business metrics and business behaviors has done a lot for me in my own personal impact,” said Amber Burkhart, PhD, director of talent and data analytics at Valmont Industries.
Burkhart spoke about how Hogan’s assessments have improved the way she engages with leaders and understands her own performance. Knowing strengths and limitations of her reputation has made Burkhart a more empathetic leader and feedback provider.
Hogan assessment results enable leaders to reach their full potential. Organizations that ground leadership development in Hogan personality data equip their leaders to build and maintain teams that meet and exceed performance goals.

The objective of this TED talk is to highlight the power of negative thinking. Here, the speaker represents himself, saying that he grew up in Argentina, which means he has always had a problem with confidence. He had always been interested in the relationship between confidence. The surprising fact is that there is a fragile relationship between competence and confidence, so overconfidence is one of the most pervasive biases in human thought. There are two advantages of being overconfident. Number one: it does feel good to think you're great; number two, that delusion can help you fool other people, yet there is a dark side of overconfidence. Overconfidence fosters and promotes a narcissistic culture, a narcissistic society where we commonly mistake confidence for competence. According to the speaker, the positive power of negative thinking is that there are critical adaptational benefits to your insecurities and low confidence. And finally, low confidence and insecurities are key to keep us modest. This speech is too weak to highlight the importance of negative thinking. Negative thinking can darken your perspective, heighten stress levels, reduce your motivation, disturb your problem-solving skills, strain relationships, and harm your overall happiness and mental health.

It is the mind set on high-potential , the problem is that others kills you on the way to top, by stealing your authentic ideas, and doing all those inappropriate things. They stay in the way of peoples development due their incapacity to get there by themselves.

This is absolutely bananas!! "child rearing is about teaching children to be high functioning hypocrites", "the real you is something you should be ashamed of" what?!?!?! I get that there can be value in understanding the disconnect between who you believe yourself to be and the impressions that others have of us, but I absolutely cannot get behind the notion that I should jettison all sense of who I think I am and only believe myself to be what others say I am. That is profoundly unhealthy.

So much for social theory. Not understanding that all the thoughts of the variety of consciousnesses are a process of thinking. He is black and white. without a moderate amount of introspection, observing the thought process, then understanding that the external world is "as it is," and it is what we think about it that makes us happy or unhappy, then there is no understanding that we can rise beyond the process that holds us back. Freud was right that the thinking brain can be understood by examining and analyzing the processes that go into creating world and self view. But he was wrong in identifying only specific sources from which the causes and conditions of life are finite. (mother, sex, etc.) I would have to hear and read more of what Hogan says about this to buy into it. His point of view -in this vid- is that "its all about the dark side of the force." Indeed, it is not. I would like to hear what he thinks about the insightful, more observant and interactive portion of view and behavior.

As a person of religion, who believes in the Abrahamic religion. Namely, Islam as the latest version for mankind after the Gospels revealed to Jesus peace be upon him. I find this very educational. However, life has a purpose. To suggest the greatest creation on earth that we yet to fully understand even from a psychological level not having a purpose is absurd. We see everything around us even the microorganisms serving a purpose in the ecosystem, and likewise your toaster. Every man with a basic motor can comprehend that they did not create themselves nor did they create others nor can they be created by nothingness nor unconscious material or matter (which could not have existed without a supernatural power; emptiness cannot produce abundance). Any organized system by definition is designed by a higher intellect, in this case, we call it The Creator. The purpose of life is to recognize him (who created the universe) and serve him, in which this transilient life is meant to define you as a final personality until the very last moment. By recognizing and working towards your created purpose you achieve higher consciousness and bliss money cannot buy and a great return in the afterlife. We have a soul, which is more so inclined to evil than good, yet we are created to know the basic inference of good and evil, even men who live in the jungle know this fact. We are spiritual beings, all evidence suggests that clearly even your own experiences. For example, happiness is when we do good towards others and ourselves. While any wrong that is done towards others and ourselves will render our subconscious and conscious level to misery; and when we are true to ourselves we receive a sense of peace. For example, to feel good about ourselves we must feel we are doing good or the right thing, despite being a private matter. This is the creators' law. You may suggest that there are those who do not feel, that is a medical condition of the mind just like the body may be sick the soul /mind can become sick. Often mental disorders come from an existential crisis, as you have said lack of clarity leads to a kind of madness and chaos. The greatest of which is not knowing our purpose in life and being in a state of parochialism. I would recommend you to read quran.com and the work of Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya and the like.
