You used the DT 880 Premium 250 Ohm version, so You didn't test the DT 880 Edition 600 Ohm that Zeos had !🤗!

To get the best out of these, you need to update their firmware and use the software to adjust EQ, pull out some of the mud and boost the mids. There are 5 bands on the updated version of the software. IDK why Sennheiser can't give us even more bands on a software EQ. I also prefer lowering the amount of noise cancelation with the slider when not in noisy environment. I prefer these to the Sony 1000XM4. I wouldn't say they are great, but I don't think "great" noise canceling headphones exist.

Really appreciate this review, its been difficult to find any solid info on this product since its launch. After watching I think I'll give it a miss as my potential first tube amp, your "not tubey enough" description was the clincher (and that blue LED is awful).

the 1.3W spec is for 32 ohm so for the argon the math do not add up , it's not going to get to 1W with a 50 ohm load

Great info/tests. It isn’t true that a portable amp can’t drive these. The Hip dac2 has a power boost switch and a non muddy bass boost switch. When these are engaged I can’t imagine how the 880 600 ohms could sound better. The rechargeable Hip dac2 is a wonderful product.

absolutely right , one do not need to spend $500 for a tube AMP , and I would say to start with tube AMP ( at least for Headphone users ) one can try xDuoo's own TA-26s and TA66 which are both cheaper and easier to get doing tube rolling

The only argument you get from these people is that your audio system isn't good enough. You need a better "resolving" system in order to hear what they promise you. I built my own high end pc that does everything. Full server (Plex) and good stereo music (foobar). But made sure I am using an actual plugin audio card which is much better than the included audio on the motherboard. The only shit that is worth purchasing (to a point) is Schiit.

FX Audio has very serious totally unacceptable Quality Control issues. It is a Brand which deserves to be shut down by Public demand.

You make good and valid points about the power adapter & screen issues. It rightly so would be a concern for most people (I like you have many adapters) but the display not being centred properly would absolutely annoy the hell out of me. Once you've noticed it then you'll keep looking at it. The omission of a balanced connection is a strange one. I agree that it's not going to win any beauty contests aesthetically but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. FX Audio also have a DS07 (ES9068AS chip) but I'm not enamoured with the appearance of that either. I still have an FX Audio Dac X6 in use in a bedroom and it's ok. I don't know what it is about the toggle switches but I like them. I do however much prefer using my iFi Zen/Can v1 stack overall sometimes partnered with XDuoo MT-602 (not stock tubes).

Just one correction to the video - Schiit Magnius has (slightly) more power when running balanced hp output vs A30 Pro. A30 Pro is SE hp output only - balanced hp jacks are for convenience only and you do not get more power while using them -> 6.35mm=4.4mm/XLR 4-pin. So it is not a fair comparison and statement to make that Magnius has more power when you are comparing truly balanced on the Magnius vs single-ended output on A30 Pro. If you were to compare SE output of the Magnius it clearly has way less power than the A30 Pro which is indicated on the spec sheet (Magnius SE 32Ohm = 2W vs A30 Pro SE/BAL 32Ohm = 5.5W; Magnius SE 300 Ohm = 300mW vs A30 Pro SE/BAL = 730mW). Also on ASR the SE output of the magnius has a SINAD of 94dB with a huge spike in the 2nd Harmonic (which obviously might not matter in the real world) but there is a huge discrepancy compared to the Balanced output of the Magnius which is on the "state of the art" level of 120dB. Otherwise great review, there should not be audible differences between them but it was just an incorrect comparison that I had to point out and to state that to this day the A30 Pro seems to be the AMP with most power for headphones that you can not run balanced (without modding or whatever). Probably way more power than anyone would ever need, but I guess some would justify it as it's good for "future proofing" and knowing you have objective state of the art performance. EDIT: And I do agree about D30 Pro - it just doesn't make sense. Now the D50 III seems to best value because of PEQ. EDIT2: One more correction to A30 Pro -> Medium gain is unity gain (0dB) but it's an honest mistake as topping website was way worse back in the day.

I wonder if you compared the sound quality between your Android and the Fiio M17 you would say how utterly garbage the Android is compared to the Fiio.... the latter is designed and built for audiophile quality and immersion, the Android is for phone calls with internet capabilities. What a silly 54 second video that was actually uploaded.

For sound quality and comfort for long music listening sessions which is better or would you recommmend between the philips shp9600 and the sennheiser 58x ... i listen to mostly hip hop and rnb and a little of soft rock music

Can anyone recommend some good replacement ear pads, the original ones have started to wear and peel after less than a year, and I haven’t been rough or used these in any challenging environments like a gym or moving about outside in adverse weather, just at home.
