I liked Honest Hearts a hell of a lot more than Dead Money.

This DLC wouldve been a lot more rewarding to play if they limited hard saves to specific rooms and made quickloading a consumable item. This way, the quicksave/quickload system would be a resource to manage alongside your weapons and armor

The biggest problem I had with the series is the unlikely scenario of targeting Paige as a KGB asset (as part of the Centre's "second-generation illegals program)-----notwithstanding everything else, she's still just a kid; kids talk. In real life, sooner or later, no matter her training or mindset, she'll let something slip, and that would be the downfall of everything. Paige herself is something of an anachronism throughout the series...she certainly doesn't act like any teenager I've ever known; more like a girl in her late twenties/early thirties (much of her dialogue with her parents and others was -*-far-*- more mature than a typical 13-16 year old would be). And during the episodes where Philip and Elizabeth--AND Gabriel!!--- are arguing over bringing Paige into the fold, I noticed that certain key arguing points were not utilized which would have been used in real life in such a situation: for example, PHILIP could've reasoned with Elizabeth that what would she think of HER daughter potentially having to use her body in "honeypot" situations, as Elizabeth had many times, in order to get information from a source or achieve other ends?? Or the likely LIABILITY factor of trusting kids in "cloak-and-dagger" situations...Paige just simply speaks way too maturely for a typical teenage girl of the time...

In the DVD complete series of THE AMERICANS, the commentary therein discusses the inspiration for this series: a real-life KGB spy couple with children, embedded in Canada for most of their spy-life (although they did emigrate to the U.S. for a little while)...(I guess they would be called "The Canadians"?? lol...until they were finally caught in 2010, along with other spies. All of them ended up being sent back to Russia--minus their kids, who they left behind...just like in The Americans--in exchange for several spies caught there. The real-life spy situation in Canada/America was apparently much more mundane, with few of the incidents as portrayed in The Americans (like with assassinations, etc.)...but then again that's what Hollywood is all about---glamorizing the mundane and fictionalizing accounts in order to make it appealing to a wide audience!

KOTH is a bad example for a generic paintball episode, as that one actually has different music to great effect.

Harrison’s character was such a lame reprisal of former roles in the original series. He just became another apprentice that Dex takes under his wing. In some ways, he’s more layered as Dexter’s son, but less compelling in others. We never get those bombastic blowout fights that we saw between Miguel and Dexter in Season 3. It also seemed like the show worked too hard to correct the sins of the original finale. The discovery of Dexter by the lady sheriff after a few minutes of sleuthing on Google and his subsequent arrest and interrogation just felt really unearned. Possibly because they had nothing to do with the huge attention-grabbing MURDER he commits in the season premier.

Dexter never gave a fuck about Rita. He proves that again and again by his actions.

Dexter should have been caught so many times throughout the series, it's not even funny. He is truly blessed with anime plot armor.

I have to say I disagree with your characterization of Sids showers scene. I think she was just a curious kid while David’s assault of her was about having power over her. The “wet glass” comment is here saying the experience wasn’t as magical as she expected sex to be not her lamenting she was graped. That’s just my interpretation but ultimately I don’t think what she did is as bad as what David did.

Obviously I'm gonna have differing opinions, but I'm flabbergasted Conventions of Space and Time ranked so high. Easily worse than GI Jeff, Introduction to Finality, or Intro to Recycled Cinema, imho. Though I do like Recycled Cinema just because it's asinine.

I LOVE this show. I was hooked since ep.1 because of how well executed it was, & w/such love & care for the previous mythology. The narrative was fluent enough, & it was scene after scene of awesome effects that were fresh, yet an obvious evolution of Sam Raimi's previous lure. I don't think there was a single disappointing episode, & despite them not quite nailing the landing, it's always highly entertaining.
