    **The Role of the Prophet in Explaining the Quran** The Quran Alone movement's rejection of the Hadith and Sunnah overlooks the critical role of the Prophet Muhammad in explaining and exemplifying the teachings of the Quran. The Quran itself emphasizes the necessity of the Prophet’s explanations for a comprehensive understanding of its message. **Quranic Evidence for the Prophet's Role** Surah An-Nahl (16:44) clearly states: - "And We revealed to you the message that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them and that they might give thought." This verse underscores that the Prophet's role includes clarifying the Quranic message. His explanations and practices provide essential context and practical applications of the Quranic teachings, making them accessible and understandable to the believers. Without these clarifications, the Quran’s guidance can be difficult to fully grasp and implement. **Supporting Verses** 1. **Surah An-Nisa (4:59)**: - "O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result." - This verse mandates obedience to the Prophet alongside obedience to Allah, indicating that the Prophet’s teachings (Hadith) are crucial for resolving disputes and understanding the Quran correctly. 2. **Surah Al-Ahzab (33:21)**: - "Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often." - The Prophet’s life serves as an exemplary model for Muslims, showing how to live according to the Quran. This model includes his sayings and actions, which are documented in the Hadith and Sunnah. **The Necessity of the Prophet's Explanations** - **Contextual Understanding**: The Quran contains verses that are brief and sometimes ambiguous. The Hadith provide context and details that are essential for understanding the full meaning of these verses. For instance, the Quran commands Muslims to pray but does not provide the specifics of how to perform Salah (prayer). The Hadith fill in these details, ensuring that Muslims perform their religious duties correctly. - **Legal and Ethical Guidance**: Many Quranic injunctions are broad and need further specification. For example, the Quran prohibits theft but does not detail the specific punishments or conditions under which these laws apply. The Hadith provide these necessary details, forming a comprehensive legal and ethical framework for Muslims. - **Preservation of Teachings**: The Prophet’s explanations ensure that the Quranic teachings are preserved in their intended meaning and context. Over time, without the Hadith, interpretations of the Quran could diverge significantly, leading to misinterpretations and deviations from the original message. **Rebuttal to Quran Alone Movement** - **Ignoring the Quran’s Directives**: By rejecting the Hadith, the Quran Alone movement disregards the Quran’s own instructions to follow the Prophet’s guidance. The verses mentioned (16:44, 4:59, 33:21) explicitly highlight the necessity of the Prophet’s role in explaining the Quran, and rejecting this role contradicts the Quran itself. - **Practical Implications**: The practical aspects of Islamic worship and law would be severely compromised without the Hadith. The specific methods of prayer, fasting, and other acts of worship are detailed in the Hadith. Without these details, Muslims would lack a unified and coherent way to practice their faith. - **Unity and Cohesion**: The Prophet’s explanations and practices create a unified practice among Muslims, fostering community and cohesion. Without the Hadith, individual interpretations would vary widely, leading to fragmentation and division within the Muslim community. ### Conclusion The Hadith and Sunnah are indispensable for understanding and practicing Islam as intended by the Quran. They provide necessary context, detailed guidance, and a model of exemplary behavior that ensures the Quran’s teachings are fully comprehended and implemented. Rejecting these sources not only contradicts the Quran’s directives but also undermines the completeness and unity of Islamic practice.

    The rejection of the Hadith by the Quran Alone movement can lead to significant issues regarding community and unity within the Muslim ummah (community). Here’s a detailed explanation: 1. **Shared Practices and Beliefs**: Islam, as practiced by the majority of Muslims, is based on both the Quran and the Hadith. The Hadith provides essential details about how to perform various religious duties, such as the specific rituals of prayer (Salah), fasting (Sawm), and pilgrimage (Hajj). These practices create a uniformity and shared experience among Muslims worldwide, fostering a sense of unity and identity. Without the Hadith, these practices could vary significantly, leading to confusion and inconsistency in worship and religious observance. 2. **Interpretation and Authority**: The Hadith and Sunnah (traditions and practices of the Prophet Muhammad) serve as authoritative sources for interpreting the Quran. They provide context, explanations, and practical applications of Quranic verses. Without the Hadith, individuals might interpret the Quran in diverse and potentially conflicting ways, leading to a fragmented understanding of Islamic teachings. This lack of a unified interpretive framework can cause doctrinal disagreements and divisions within the community. 3. **Scholarly Consensus (Ijma)**: Sunni Islam places great importance on the concept of ijma, or the consensus of scholars, as a source of Islamic jurisprudence. This consensus is often based on the Quran, Hadith, and the interpretations and applications derived from these sources over centuries. By rejecting the Hadith, the Quran Alone movement dismisses a significant portion of this scholarly tradition, undermining the collective wisdom and unity built over generations. This can lead to a fragmented approach to Islamic law and ethics, where individual interpretations may conflict with established norms and practices. 4. **Community Cohesion**: Shared religious practices and beliefs strengthen community bonds and provide a sense of belonging. The Hadith includes teachings on social interactions, ethics, and community responsibilities, which help maintain cohesion and harmony within the Muslim community. Without these shared guidelines, communities may struggle to uphold consistent ethical standards and social norms, leading to discord and fragmentation. 5. **Historical Continuity**: The Hadith connects contemporary Muslims with the early Muslim community and the Prophet Muhammad's time. This historical continuity fosters a sense of shared heritage and identity. By rejecting the Hadith, the Quran Alone movement potentially severs this connection, creating a disjointed understanding of Islamic history and practice. This can alienate followers from the broader Muslim community, which values the continuity of tradition. In summary, the rejection of the Hadith by the Quran Alone movement can lead to varied and conflicting interpretations of Islam, disrupting the unity and shared identity of the Muslim ummah. It undermines the uniformity of religious practices, dismisses centuries of scholarly consensus, and weakens the historical and social bonds that maintain community cohesion [[❞]](19.org/blog/sala/) [[❞]](en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quranism) [[❞]](docslib.org/doc/10434616/quran-and-sunnah-perspective-on-informal-logical-fallacies).

    The Quran says it’s clear but I’ve never seen any 2 Quran only followers come up with the same conclusion about Salah after reading from the Quran. The only explanation that more than one person says is “following closely” which most people just parrot off one another and not actually study themselves. This is a problem that everyone is coming up with their own version of Salah. For me in short I’ve found that Salah is the action of reciting the words of God upon the people (or yourself) and doing an act of submission to those words by prostrating/bowing. This is Salah in its simplest form that I found in the Quran and everything other than this is an add on.

    • @submittersperspective8251
      @submittersperspective8251 Před 9 dny

      Salah existed before the Quran and so the Quran was never revealed to teach us Salat. As long as the so called Quranists are in denial of this fact, they will end up with different versions of their own tailor made salat. The practice of Salat was never meant to be learned off of a book. It was first established at the Sacred shrine by Ibrahim and then reinstated by Muhammad who was given the "zikr" of which God guarantees preservation. So the practice of Salah is to be understood as intact even today and traceable via the verses of the Quran.

    Why do some people impose conditions which are not present in Allah's Book (Laws)? Whoever imposes such a condition as is not in Allah's Laws, then that condition is invalid even if he imposes one hundred conditions, because certainly Allah's conditions are more binding and reliable!

    The so called Quranists are correct, so far as the Hadith have been authorized without approval of Muhammad, centuries after canonization of the Quran, and rejecting the Hadith for the sake of argument is necessary to prove the Quran as a complete and self-sufficient book, but after all, the Quran itself remains a vague and disorganized book, either because people who supposed to transmit its data have died before the canonization, or because Muhammad himself have died before the book was fully revealed and organized, so the Quran is now incomplete, or absolutely dependent on other books like the Hadith, which makes up for those loses, including the missing context for the Quran, most of practical guidance, and all data about Muhammad and founding history of Islam.

    In Surah al-Nisa 59: It says "O you who believe, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you are in dispute over any matter, refer it to Allah and His Messenger if you are actually believers in Allah and the Last Day, That is better for you and more seemly in the end" Many important points may be deduced from this one verse of the Quran. First, it must be noted that Allah explicitly uses the command "to obey," not only for Himself but also for the Messenger (PBUH), that is, "obey Allah and the Messenger." this same verb (ateeu) or command does not directly precede "those in authority among you. This establishes the Messenger of Allah as an independent object of obedience while obedience to anyone else is conditional upon consistency with the Quran or sunnah. Second, this implies that obedience to the Messenger is, in a sense, something different than obedience to Allah. Obedience to the Messenger of Allah is indeed obedience to Allah. What is meant here is that obedience to the Messenger differs from simply obeying the Messenger in what he has conveyed from the word of Allah or the Quran. Muslims are commanded to take any dispute that they may have to only two arbiters; Allah and His Messenger. The Companions of the Prophet (PBUH) and later scholars have understood " refer it to Allah to mean to refer to the Book of Allah. And referring the matter to the Messenger of Allah means to refer it directly to him during his lifetime and to his sunnah after his death. Note also that the two, the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger are placed together here and the verse does not say, refer the matter to Allah and then to the Messenger of Allah, nor does it say, refer the matter to Allah and if you do not find the answer there, refer the matter to Messenger. Allah states that true believers are the ones who refer their disputes not only to Allah but to Allah and His Messenger

    Obey Allah and Obey the Messenger as articulated in AL Quran can also refer to Jibireel AS who was responsible for passing Allah's message (Al Quran) to RSAW.......so Allah commands RSAW to Obey Allah and HIS Messenger (Jibireel AS) and thereafter the Ummah needs to Obey the message of Al Quran as revealed to RSAW via Jibireel AS. The claim that Obey the Messenger as a separate entity is therefore false as the message that should be obeyed is Al Quran and NOT Ghadeeth literature as understood by most.....may Allah guide and protect us all😢

    Obedience to Allah always comes first before obedience to the messenger. And there is no obedience to messenger only without obedience to Allah in the Quran. To my understanding obey the messenger ayat came down to the messenger when he is alive with his followers. How can you obey a person when you are not with him? Worse still majority of the Muslim follow what people wrote about the messenger after 200 years.

    I have encountered Quranists myself & this is the whole point. When Quranist interpret The Quran without Hadith they draw their own delusional conclusions I have always asked them the Question which till this day have NO ANSWER Qur'an Surah 4:34 says to beat women "Wadriboona" What happens if a Quranist without hadith interprets this verse to be an agressive literal beating & abuses his Wife They have no answer Secondly:Notice he drinks Alcohol See the Law regarding Khamr in the Quran was first legal then its consumption was reduced, then abolished in 3 stages. What happens if a Quranist thinks that the first verse was too abolished then later its permissibility got introduced See this is the Problem one faces if they don't follow the Extended interpretation according to Hadith & try & feed out there own interpretations. This is one major reason, why the Hadith was introduced to protect the Quran from those who try to twist its meaning. For why Allah All mighty says in the Glorias Quran, we sent you O Muhammed to explain clearly to man the Quran Surah 75:19 The Question then arises where can we find this explanation? If it is NOT the hadith then what is it Do you know what is even more incredibly Bazaar, are the Quranist telling us that the Greatest Man in History the Prophet Muhammed has no Biography How old was the Prophet when He recieved Revelation QURANISTS HAVE NO ANSWER What were the Names of his wives How long did his ministry last 1 month 1 day or 23 Years What age did he die Who were his companions Which companions passed on the Quran to us How do we know if they were reliable since our Quran mushaf does NOT directly date to the hand of our Prophet rather 17-30 Years after him Are they suggesting that the ones who passed on the Quran. Lied to us about Hadith. Therefore how can we trust the Quran they gave to us if the same people also fabricated Hadith Did the Prophet have any Children What were the Prophet's father's & mother's names What were the names of his wives & uncles What year was the Prophet Born in Maybe he existed only 900 year ago instead of 1400 years ago What did the Prophet look like was he fit & healthy or did he look like a fat Was he a business man or was he on the dole What was his teenage life like & early childhood The science of hadith is based on reason & shar‘i guidelines The science of hadith is basically & in principle founded on rational guidelines, with a methodology based on an accumulation of experience attained by the hadith scholars on the basis of many years’ experience of narrating reports and checking their authenticity and soundness. They attained the basis of this knowledge through lengthy involvement in checking reports, seeking them out, conveying them, examining them and determining whether there were any faults in them, thus gradually developing the general guidelines and framework of the science of hadith. Al-Khateeb al-Baghdadi said: Distinguishing the soundness of hadith is a kind of knowledge that Allah, may He be exalted, creates in people’s hearts after they have spent a great deal of time in this field and have attained lengthy involvement therein

      Allah also said help out Muhammad in the battle of Trench that doesn't mean you can do it right now because he is dead. The "obey the messenger" verse is only for the people at the time when Muhammad was alive. According to the Quran, he only followed the Quran.

    Hadith rejectors are simply arrogant. They think they understand the Quran and Islam and how to implement it in real life better than the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They considers they themselves their own prophethood and think their limited minds that influenced by their desires are true rather than what is revealed by the prophet Muhmmad ﷺ. "And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits - He will put him into the Fire to abide eternally therein, and he will have a humiliating punishment." Quran 4:14 "It is not for a believing man or woman-when Allah and His Messenger decree a matter-to have any other choice in that matter. Indeed, whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has clearly gone ˹far˺ astray." Quran 33:36
