Can I Beat Dishonored’s DLCs with Almost Nothing?
Between Knife of Dunwall and Brigmore Witches, Dishonored has some fantastic DLCs that were a treat to play about a decade ago. But until recently, I'd only ever played them in high chaos. So I had to know, how were things on the opposite extreme?
Rules:
No rune/gear upgrades
No powers
No tools
No favors
No killing
No detections
No throwables
No bonecharms
All of course come with the caveat that the game does make certain things like Blink mandatory in places. If deemed absolutely necessary, it'll be used and directly mentioned. Otherwise, the goal was to use only hands and feet to make our way through the game.

this is how my first playthrough went... I just picked one thing and committed to it. In my case, it was all melee, and it was all over the moment they gave me the pilebunker.

Idk if you’ll see this comment, but for the xp farm, couldn’t you farm the death race in the torgue dlc to get enough xp to get to level 45? I wouldn’t expect you to do it for this run, but it would be way more reasonable than farming fight for sanctuary dlc
Theoretically, but it would require getting through a lot of Torgue's DLC, and then dodging a lot of vehicles along the road. It'd be really inconsistent for the purpose of calculations and require a lot of focus for execution.

I just saw this a month later (I've watched many of your challenge runs and kind of expected existential dread.) Seems like the algorithm didn't appreciate it. I did, for the record. It reminds me of the kind of content that youtube and such were made for years ago before the mass commercialization and clickbait titles and all. The outro with simspuddy writing it in game was a grand finale. Maybe doing it in roblox instead of the sims would have pleased the number crunching machine god we're all beholden to.

I'm sorry to hear that you've had _any_ experience with that sort of thing. Any is far too much. It's still so confusing how often morality is portrayed in films/games. Like taking a life is the single worst thing one can do, despite all the other evils people are capable of.

It's a really fun series! It kinda feels like a good intro to immersive sims, but I also don't have a bunch of experience with the genre. So I could be entirely wrong there.

@@SpuddyCube i've played the dishonored games loads of times and for every stealth playthrough ive done, ive disarmed them without fail, i havent played 1 in a while but im pretty sure its the same across all games
@@trogkantusraam in 1 and its DLCs, you can only disarm a tripwire at the launcher. the interaction you get with a tripwire is to trigger it

I know these are only the DLCs, but these games give me an appreciation for just how much attention to detail is put in. Where most games would have set dressings like pipes and hanging lights for an industrial building, all of which don't offer the player much outside of lighting or cover, Dishonored allows the player to use these things to forge an actual path through the level. I just think that is pretty cool...
Oh, absolutely. I love the abilities you can play with, but going through with as little as possible is genuinely a great experience almost purely for playing with the map design.
this was a fun run and i remain glad that i didn't attempt it myself. that first alley really sets expectations for the run as a whole, and i'm always impressed by your persistence and dedication/stubbornness
I stand by, it was really fun! Granted, I'm biased. I did have some fantastic assistance, and I'm still grateful to you for it. I do hope the AI in the sequel feels a bit less stuck in place throughout though.
